"Pod-55 and Pod-37, this is McGaw. I copy both your transponders...no worries, I landed quite perfectly, in most regards. I can render assistance, right after a cup of warm caf.

That was a joke.

I'm going to retrieve one of the personal vehicles from the cargo bay, if they are undamaged. I should be able to pick you up momentarily, eta 15 minutes with weather and wind speed holding-otherwise, you may have to wait for a rescue party to be sent out, or try to group with other off course survivors. We don't know what else has been attracted to our landing, and I wouldn't suggest wandering around alone for very long."

Dr. McGaw!

You recognize the voice in your headphones - it's Eisa Al-Radi, the head of the communications team. You remember the intellectual Arabic man from your briefing on Earth - he, in fact, conducted it. Al-Radi and his team of comm specialists have known each other before your expedition, and signed up on the Horizon in a single unit, as it were.

You're going to be supervising the rescue operations, then? You may find this of interest: Pod 63 isn't answering my ping. Alex Shater may have gotten in trouble. Do look for him, all right? Ah, how I wish we'd included flare rockets in the pod kits. It seems so simple, now that I think of it...

"It would have been nice to include lots of things, but with the weight limits we were already nearly overloaded on our personal kits, as small as they are-look how many pods landed off course. If anything, we should have been supplied with less. But, the conversation is a bit redundant at this point.

I will attempt to retrieve Alex Shater first-since he's not communicating, he's in all probability at the greatest risk.

Have you managed to retrieve your entire team yet, Mr. Al-Radi?"

"My whole team except myself, ironically. Matveenko, Williams, and Messing are already at ground zero. I'll direct them to you, you're going to need assistance. There is an assembled hovercraft in the storage section cell 23. You can retrieve that. Have you ever piloted a hover before?"
