#The Embark!#

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Our band of seven dwarves set out on a mighty journey. Crossing through the mighty deserts and over the snow-peaked mountains they finally found a place to call home.Only...this land they claim for themselves is already inhabited...by badgers!"We just crossed over the mountains! crawled through that darned desert and your gonna tell me I cant kill me some badgers!?" A furious Master screams! A dwarf without yet an official name whimpers a cry of "y-y-yes...". "We can make short work of these badgers, we outnumber them and I guarantee they will run!" Tylermon shouts at the troop.

Axes are gathered and the band of seven rush the badgers! With the poking of eyes and ripping of flesh the Boats of Manes emerge victorious!
"An easy battle, that all you badgers got!" shouts the dwarf with no name.

A rumbling is heard and the ground begins to tremble. Giant badgers appear from an eerie mist and our story comes to a bloody end...[/spoiler]

#The 2'nd Embark!!#

No screenies yet D:

Our second fort has grown considerably! Eager adventurers come from across the lands to test their might at defeating the skeletal yaks that roam the fortress halls!
Two such adventurers thought they could best these beasts....dwarven blood stains the halls to the underground river.
But do not fear for, the dwaven militia destroyed the beast without so much as a scratch!

this concludes the short overview of the fort....More detailed version to be typed up later but I haven't the time to type it now.

I have created a world that anyone may play on with no need of white-list so that you may play while waiting to be white-listed.
Use the same IP but when you join a game join the "Test" game.

Awesome, guess I should ask what type of embark we should be looking for? Are we the type of dwarfs that live in a peaceful warm forest? Or are we gonna be the unlucky few who set out to conquer the mountains and freeze our beards off? :D

I like to think of myself as a decent writer and could definitely make some fun and interesting stories for any situation we put ourselves into.

Yeah, its the same thing....only this one is better ;)

And for anyone looking for more info on what DFterm2 is there is information on the wiki http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Utility:Dfterm2 (http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Utility:Dfterm2)

This will work very similar to a succession game...but instead of turns everyone is able to work on it whenever they want...also eliminating long waits for your turn or people who don't finish a turn.
I think it would be safe to say that there will still be stories about what is happening to our poor naive little dwarves....but we will need some more players!

Going to be updating/creating a rule section in a little bit for more details on how I envision this working.

Changed a few settings so that those wanting to test the server may not interfere with the main game profile

Google Putty, that pretty much sums it up.

Minor changes/fixes:

Test folder now properly lets ANYONE start a game from it(this is so you can play if I have not added you as an official user yet)
(minor note: I made the test slot on a low priority setting this allows maximum performance for my official "Dwarf Fortress" slot.

Added some useful links where appropriate

Updated the Graphics packs section with download link and steps on how to use them
(This cannot be done the same way as a regular graphic pack...it MUST be done through PuTTy)

And I added a few people to the White-List

Add me to the whitelist.

I was one of the regulars on Carnes's DFMP server, so I know how this works :P

I want to join this, too. I loved Carnes's DFMP, and it was a shame when it went down.

After you join and register on the server once, I can add you to the allowed players for the official slot. The server itself does not support an official white-list so to speak.

I logged into the server, now that I have some free time.

No games or worlds are around, is that intentional?
