Title: Is this real? Some rich guy claims to have just donated $50k to Toady.

Apparently some rich guy came on /v/ and let people vote on who he gives $50k too, and /v/ voted for Toady. Then this screenshot was posted...

Without seeing an actual receipt to compare it to, that could also be a CSS issue.  If the element for the second $50,000 was placed higher on z level and explicitly has a white background, it can cut off low hanging bits of a font in another element behind it.

So what?  I'm only like a day old in DF time, but I can tell you that 'might' pay a quarter year's worth expenses while T is developing full time.  I hope he did get it. :)

Yeah, it's pretty doubtful. The guy probably just wanted to see if people would argue about who gets it, or see if it gets tons of attention.

Though a one pixel oddity doesn't really seem that significant.

It is a bit weird, looking at the other commas. I guess checking for photoshopping it a bit like trying to pixel a face from a crowd.

Im just saying, most people who can spare 50k to a random video-game that was mentioned, wouldent spend 50k on a random video-game that was mentioned. Im just saying, people with money arnt the kind of people who give away money, and if they do its to charity.

Well, we (my family) recieved a $500 "donation" on our quickly-mounting water bill that's allowed us to finally bathe in our own god damn house again for the first time in 4 months.

Or even easier yet to use Firebug.  Well, either way, we'll see soon enough.  If it happens, all the better, and if it doesn't, then nothing's lost.

We need Toady's input on this: How epic can the crayon artwork get? If i donate 1k, what can I expect?

I believe the article on this said that Toady, ThreeToe, and their grandmother are the ones responsible for making the crayon art based upon the worth of the donation.

I can only imagine what would happen with the large scale donations. They might commission a statue of you or something.
