Question:  Is D&D about the social connection, or winning?  Because my competitive nature refuses to accept a world where you can pin a dragons wings together mid-air and not die.  Evel Knievel should have died, and I'm sad he didn't.  Would have made the story better, even.

In the best sense of D&D, it's about a guy telling a story.  A story played out and added to by the supposed audience.  If the story calls for someone to wrestle a god-damned dragon, and if the dice and DM are feeling rather generous, then sure you can wrestle that dragon.  There are certainly a lot of DMs out there who would not have allowed the guy to wrestle the dragon, this was not one of them.

Mainly it's about having fun with friends in a group setting.

Not sure if laughing at oneself's idiocy counts as a laugh, but I stayed up until 3ish with my Glock pointed at the window because I heard some form of animal outside. Me being the paranoid /x/ browser I am, I promptly jumped to the conclusion of "Fleshgait/Skinwalker/Goatman/Whathaveyou". I finally went to bed around 3 with the encouragement of KOSS, although not without the gun nearby. Woke up this morning, promptly went outside to investigate.

It was a damn deer, if the tracks aren't misleading me. Heheh. I'm so stupid...

Also, if there's a "Things you've done today that have made you feel like a damn moron" thread, kindly point me to it, as I'll probably be it's most frequent poster.
