Wow! Lots of awesome art since my last post!  :D
Vester, Fault, Balathustrius: you rule!

As for making a comic, it sounds like an epic idea, I'd be glad to help!
Maybe some colouring? It seems like an open niche and I'm quite good at it. I do not want any long term obligations however, but standalone jobs I am glad to help with as long as there are no deadlines what so ever.

Heres a few characters I made :)

Dwarf in adamantine armor.

Same dwarf? as a philosopher of some sort.

Nasty elf-kind.

Bleargh that's amazing.

I like the adamantine plate. It never occurred to me that it was such a pleasing colour.

The dwarves look like twins. Amazing art by the way.

I drew this a couple of days ago.. it's kinda similar to mordae's first drawing.

I imagine his armour being a red colour, but I don't think there's an armour metal that is red..

Bronze is a reddish metal.

I thought so, but it's more yellowy in Dwarf fortress.

Maybe it's copper. Although that wouldn't make for very good armor.

...

Super-bronze?

Well, I did mod in a red metal called orichalcum (made of copper, gold and flux)
so I guess he's wearing that.

(Orichalcum is a fictional metal from Norse mythology. we discussed adding it to the game in a thread about the weirder elements of the norse myths. the original plan was for it to be and alloy of copper, gold and alchohol, but I couldn't quite figure out the smelter reaction for that)

Orichalcum far predates the Norse, it originated with the Greeks, and it's most prominant mention is in Plato's dialogues about Atlantis. Literally translated it means "Mountain Copper" or "Mountain Metal" while the Romans translated it as "Aurichalcum", which means Gold Copper.

No-one is entirely sure what Orichalcum actually is, the most likely candidates are either Amber or a Gold-Copper alloy. Other theories suggest Silver-Copper, a Copper-Tin alloy (Bronze), a Copper-Zinc alloy (Brass) or perhaps even a metal that is no longer known.

Based on descriptions and the fact that the metal fell out of use until only a name was left, odds are it was probably either Amber or a Gold-Copper alloy similar to Tumbaga.

Or, more probably, it was as real as Atlantis...
