DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Poor liason
« on: August 07, 2016, 07:56:27 am »
I've never seen this before, this was the news from the first diplomat, the baron consort of Seergranite :

The latest new from Seergranite is that several years ago my youngest son Udil Releasemirrored was kidnapped from the site by Naco Rockburns.  Several years ago my third eldest son Saversh Crimsonwheels was kidnapped from the site by Soya Tongsbalances.

I've never noticed a report of the reporter's own children being kidnapped before that I recall.  Guess he should stay home and actually watch his kids...

Masterwork DF / Feeling sorry for goblins
« on: June 24, 2014, 07:00:30 pm »
So I was looking at legends mode and found the saddest goblin civilization ever.

In 398, late winter, The Devils of Insight  defeated The Vileness of Darkness  and pillaged Ignobleweird. In The 630th Pillaging of Ignobleweird as a result of The Barbarous Onslaughts as part of The Bloody Conflict.

In 398, midautumn, The Skirt of Loving  defeated The Vileness of Darkness  and pillaged Obeisanceplagued. In The 563rd Pillaging of Obeisanceplagued as a result of The Siege of Cobras as part of The Stormy Wars.

And so on.  Overall they have won 5 battles and lost about 5000 during 15 wars.  Each of their sites have been pillaged hundreds of times.  They are presently embroiled in 3 wars (each lasting over 150 years) and have lost over 1000 battles in each, and over 11000 goblins.  They have 96 remaining...

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Civilizations and embarking questions
« on: June 14, 2014, 09:53:28 pm »
Is there any way, besides embarking, to see what a given civilization has access to (yes, I mean coal)?  And once you are in the embark screen is there any way to get back to the embarking selection map without saving or losing any notes on the main map (say if your civ doesn't have any aforementioned coal)?  I don't really want to have to create a suicidal embark just to save the notes of the other good spots on the giant map I'm using...

Masterwork DF / Bloodsuckers for the blood god
« on: April 08, 2014, 12:15:52 pm »
So I had a vampire mage in the third wave of immigrants to my fort.  I didn't want to deal with a bloodsucker (I had even disabled normal vampires), so I decided to sacrifice him for some equipment (fortunately he only drained a useless dwarf whilst I was building the temple).  So I did, but he didn't actually die (though I got the message and the bloody armor and axe).  So I did it again and again he didn't die.

So can you get infinite bloody gear of armoks by sacrificing vampires (and/or vampire mages) over and over again?  He did start moving REALLY slowly after the first sacrifice, but he kept keeping on.
