Title: No sieges? :(

So, I was minding my own business mining and setting up a new fort when i came to my mind: "Hey, shouldn`t I check for goblins?"

And so I did... I quick check on the civilzations screen, and find that there is no goblins there! :(
Does that mean i won`t get any ambushes or sieges?

I don't know if this is of any relevance to you but I had the same situation with my first fort. Then I kinda relaxed until half a year later I checked the civilisations screen again and the goblins were there.

Maybe you just haven't got knowledge of them or something?

Tab on the embark screen let's you know if there are goblins(civs) near the site.
The civilizations screen just shows what races noticed you(I think).

They won't appear on the civ screen until you've actually seen them, so you have to wait until your first ambush until you can browse your various imports and exports with them.

Copy world, abandon fort, make a new fort right beside the first one.  Hit tab to view civs, if no goblins are on the list, then they're either extinct or cannot reach you.
