Sticking a post here so I'll probably be reminded it exists in the morning.Well, the first player is a bear, and my only concerns were that he has two few points in resistance and he hasn't posted skills, so that's a start. Remember Roll to Alien? There are a couple fewer restrictions here, but I want you to test them out. I'm actually tempted to bump up the stat points available, though. Maybe to 49.
I'll probably make a sheet sooner or later.
How far can we go with our sheets?
Oh, okay, I wasn't quite sure how skills were supposed to work- I thought maybe you hadn't edited them in yet. :PDancing fishing and tracking are fine, but you're a bear: negotiation and cooking are greyed out. Maybe foraging instead of cooking, and cooperation or intimidation or something like that for negotiation. Singing ... hmmm. I'll allow it. Laslo has a terrible, angry voice.
These okay? Or is that supposed to include combat skills?
+2 to climbing, +1 to playing, +1 to scratching, +1 to surviving great fallscharisma isn't a skill. it's a stat that is sort of folded into will. cooperation is fine, as it takes some talent to get along with others. Something along that line in place of charisma will be fine. hmmm, something like intimidation or persuasion. This is the only issue your sheet has!
-2 to combat, -1 to charisma, -1 to cooperation, -1 to fighting dogs
Looks good. Look athe other entries for hints on skills. If you aren't sure, stick it in, and I'll let you know. If you want a generic average person, leave the skills blank as you have.Spoiler: Charsheet (click to show/hide)
Ah, Ok. I fixed up Cuddles. She now has trouble being intimidating.approved.
I gave myself a combat skill, since that seems kind of important. And I forgot to give myself any skills at all.
+2 to climbing, +1 to playing, +1 to scratching, +1 to surviving great fallsI just noticed this. it's fine, it means you'll have a stacked penalty against "dogs" though.
-2 to combat, -1 to intimidation, -1 to cooperation, -1 to fighting dogs
Okay, here's my character, it may be a little on the silly side but then again we've got your garden variety cat and bear, so... Anyway, the race description is obviously just my own interpretation of the race that I've made to use for this forum game, so while it's not "True" to the original folkloric creature but is more usable for the game.Original interpretations are preferred. I can't be asses to go reading or watching or listening to source material.
Skills: Leaving painful scratches: +2, climbing: +1, grip: +1, perception: +1.
Reading: -2, running: -1, perception after being blinded: -1, weapon-usage: -1.
I gave myself a combat skill, since that seems kind of important.it's approved. you're all set.
If it's too vague/powerful I could drop it to a +1.
Hmm, hmm, pah, can't come up with anything original.approved as is, but I'll wait for your skills.Blunt and crush seem like the same thing, what's the difference?Spoiler: stuff (click to show/hide)
Blunt is when you are hit by anything non sharp. Crush is when you are squeezed between two objects, like a nut in a nutcracker, or a human skull in an alligator's jaws. Or a kitten in an avalanche. Or a bear in a philosophy debate between Plato and Socrates.Crush seems a bit too specialized but it's your show.

Just be ready for upside-down trees killing elves.
I'mjokingGiving the GM ideas.
Added some basic skills and made him an alcoholic because I'm not creative today.it might be. We'll see.Blunt is when you are hit by anything non sharp. Cats, then bears, thenNah, crush will affect internal organs and break hard shells and stuff. I mentioned nuts, right? If you are in the jaws of a velociraptor, first you will receive piercing, then tearing (cut) then crushing, for example. If a rhino rams you then tramples you, you will receive blunt from the ram and crush from the trample.Spoiler: Krink the Kea (click to show/hide)Blunt is when you are hit by anything non sharp. I had intended for the eye thing to always give me a +1 to perception until blinded, which would cancel out the +1 and also give the character a -1 to it until the blindness wore off, but now that I think of it, that's silly, so I've changed the blindness thing into a -1 for intimidation. I have some questions though.
Us players are expected to have a malus skill to go with every bonus skill, that makes sense. What I'm having trouble with is coming up with malus skills that don't seem like joke ones, so is there any website or tip you could offer to help with that?
What does Will and Intelligence do, exactly?
In the game, if I wanted to make a character that can cast fireballs or has cryokinesis, what skills would be ideal for them, as they're non-physical?
Your link is a spoiler, should probably fix that.oh? oops.
So, uh, do we choose our weapons now? Also, hoping that H4zardZ1 starts out hurt, due to all his smashing into walls. That sounds like an IC question. As for H4zardZ1, hmmmmmm.
I just put it in the IC because I mentioned a new charsheet. So I just felt like I should put it there.you get 49 points for stats only, and your skills must balance out to 0. I'll edit the OP later to make it clearer.
I thought we had 49 points in total? Apparently not... (43+3*2=49) Eh, I'll add some more stuff in.
Has the actual arena event even started, or are we just derping around killing each other backstage? :PYes.
Well... make that a -6 to cold and 0 to heat, if you want. I just wanted to get the 6 on rads. The natural armor is fine, as it a) is integral to the character, and b) is balanced sufficiently by a negative. Also, note that while the natural armor applies to several kinds of damage, it also does not apply to them. That is, a concussive wave of air will not be affected, so explosion and the like are going to do their full damage. bullets would likely be going to fast to be significantly affected, as would arrows, probably. nets, ists, clubs, and so forth will of course be affected.
I guess the natural armor stacks with the other stats. My suggestion would be to make it down to a +1, as it does add to 4 different stats. It'll still count as a +2 for balance, though.
I'm fine with leaving the other things out. They were a little redundant... but hey, stackable debuffs. As it'd be impossible not to notice Terror in a dark place, even with a 1 roll (+4) or detection. Burning things was more towards melting stones and stuff, which would be a lot slower than melting flesh. But that's because stone and stuff kinda starts with a +1 to resist melt.
Am losing electricity in short bursts right now...
