Title: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: CyberUrist on June 04, 2012, 09:24:27 pm
Hello! This adventure will be about a group of ponies (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) who are friends and are going around together and random stuff happens, like meteors! This is my first RTD and here are the rules:

To enter a character you must provide description of these aspects:

Character Name:
Mane Color (If Applicable):
Coat Color:
Kind of Pony (E, P or U):
Cutie Mark:
Description/Background:
Talents:
Proposed Bonuses:
Text Color:

After you submit these details, then they will be considered.
Each turn, the players will decide their actions in reaction to stuff that happens. I will roll a d6 usually two times, the first roll will be Acting and the second will be Defense. In other words, if you roll to kick someone, then first your chance is rolled and if it is higher then the one I roll for the enemy dodging, then the kick succeeds. If that is not applicable, one roll will be made, using the system of:
1 - extreme failure!
2 - normal fail.
3 - partial fail.
4 - partial success.
5 - normal success.
6 - epic win!

After each turn a report will be given, detailing the new situation. Equipment and stats will sometimes provide bonuses to rolls.

The adventure will start once at least 3 people sign up.

Posting to watch.

There used to be another Pony game here, but it died out. I'm running Roll to Dodge Princess Celestia, which is half about Ponies, and half about fighting every single person in existence.

Also, you said 'Acting' and I think you meant 'Attacking'. It confused me for a while.

Damn, don't trick me like that. I thought NobodyPro had brought his game back from the dead.  :-X

This is a character entry by my dad, who wanted to join the game.
Character Name: Grumblebluster
Mane Color (If Applicable): Mauve
Coat Color: French Racing Blue
Kind of Pony: P
Cutie Mark: Rolling gusts of wind
Description/Background: Grumblebluster is a pegasus from Cloudsdale. He is a somewhat strongly built stallion. He is quite cantankerous, persnickety, and obtuse. As a job he is a wind wrangler, working above Ponyville, stopping any uncontrolled gusts. Whenever wind is troublesome, they just call for Grumblebluster. In Cloudsdale he is known for braking wild wind better than anypony else around.
Talents: He is a master at creating and controlling wind.
Proposed Bonuses: +1 in dodging rolls, -1 in conversation/persuasion rolls
Text Color: Blue

Okie dokie lokie, let's do this!

Character Name: Thale Cress (Cress to friends and acquaintances)

Mane color: Light green

Coat color: White

Kind of Pony (E, P or U): U

Cutie Mark: A plant cell

Description/Background: A lean, scrawny unicorn with a disheveled mane that sticks out in all directions, Thale Cress is a researcher obsessed with cataloging and breeding the plant life of Equestria, both magical and mundane. He is best described as eccentric, scatterbrained and driven. Hailing from Canterlot, he was born into a family of merchant ponies who own several plant nurseries across Equestria. He attended Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, but barely graduated due to abysmal grades in several subjects (notably history, literature and manners) and a rumored incident that purportedly involved growing a large carnivorous plant in a seldom frequented but well-lit dormitory bathroom. He now supports his research by breeding new and stunning ornamental flowers, which also funds his frequent plant collection and discovery expeditions around the world. His passion for plant oddities, however, leads his neighbors to avoid his backyard greenhouse at all costs, and there are whispers of strange shadows seen moving and growing within on moonlit nights.

Talents: Plant-related magic, mainly pertaining to plant growth and health, and an encyclopedic knowledge of obscure plant trivia.

Proposed Bonuses: +1 in magic and plant related rolls, -1 in conversation/persuasion/social interaction rolls.

Text Color: Lime Green

Lemme know if anything needs changes/clarifications.

Super accepted! Both bonuses taken up. Welcome aboard. I would add my own pony who is me, but I am the GM and I plan to show up later in the game, hint hint. As well, he is not fully-developed yet. I'm using him in a fanfic (that I haven't finished even the first chapter of).

Your dad wants to play in your pony rtd? Just how cool is that! :D

Is this going to be combat centered or more like story/adventuring/partying/baking related? Just wondering whether one should prepare for violence or cupcake baking.

This is a good question. If you want some player feedback, I'd prefer lighthearted to grimdark (plenty of that in other RTDs), but that's your decision and I'm in for the ride regardless.
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: CyberUrist on June 07, 2012, 01:02:19 pm
Definitely no grimdark. I might have DF-style 'sailing of in an arc', but those will be readily healable, because everyone knows ponies are made of a candy/marshmallow like substance. Other things, on the other hand, could be rendered completely limbless by some good rolls. Also, there will be a good bit of action as well as 'Roll to bake cupcakes'. However, prepare for violence. Also, I will be adding a new detail in the main post.

Well, let's see. I wouldn't mind participating in this here enterprise, if only to just try out a less combat-oriented game than usual. I don't have time to write up a proper sheet at the moment though. In short, I'd like to even out the initial trio with an earth pony, specifically an eccentric male earth pony blacksmith named Bulat Ironwither. Dark orange-ish gray coat, black mane and (short-cut) tail. Cutie mark is a steel-grey anvil with two red-hot horseshoes on it. Talents and stats later, when I return. If anyone else wants to jump in during that time, feel free, I don't mind waiting.

As soon as you provide the sheet, the game will begin.

Okay, let's see.

Character Name: Bulat Ironwither

Mane Color (If Applicable): Black

Coat Color: Dark desaturate orange.

Kind of Pony (E, P or U): E

Cutie Mark: Steel-grey anvil and two red-hot horseshoes

Description/Background: Bulat Ironwither is a stoutly built stallion with piercing orange eyes and a short-cut mane and tail. He comes from a well-respected family of blacksmiths of Stalliongrad. Despite being well-known, with the advent of new technologies and smithing magic the Ironwither clan had found themselves more and more in need of expanding their influence, and Bulat was one of those selected to travel the breadth of Equestria to find new fronts for the family's business. Being blacksmiths, the Ironwithers train all their lives to increase the strength of their forelegs, which they need to work metal with sufficient precision. This bulk of muscle around the withers, however, sometimes makes it hard to move very fast.

Talents: Working metal and performing smithing-related activities.

Proposed Bonuses: +1 to striking power, -1 to dodge

Text Color: Orange

These are the Bay12 boards and nobody made an immigrant dwarf blacksmith. I am dissapoint. :P
(and yes, I'm doing a combat-focus build in a supposedly combat-light game; I expect to be as bad at socializing in the game as I am in real life)

Gaem begeen!

The trio of friends were walking through Ponyville. Most onlookers would not think them to be friends unless they knew them, because the three had been friends since they were all colts. Now they were walking down to Sugar Cube Corner for a treat together. Wait a minute, what was that in the sky?

(Take a guess)

<Since I suppose the action is to take a guess, I'll take a guess. A descending airship?>

That thing is coming down, on fire, and falling fast. You should do something.

(Hint, read first post over.)

Mrs. Grumblebluster must have burnt dinner again...

Cress notices the object, examines it for a second, and decides it is most likely not a plant, as it appears to be falling from the sky and on fire, both very unhealthy and abnormal things for a plant that size to do.

((Not sure really what the action here is supposed to be. Do you want us to react to the object (presumably a meteor) or just assess it?))

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! A meteor is about to crush you. What will you do? Thankfully you are far away enough from SCC that it won't be hit, but you are still going to be hit if you don't do something. What'll you do?

Bulat looks worriedly up into the sky, considering whether or not the object will fall near enough to warrant ducking for cover or similar activities.

Cress ponders the burning, speeding object a bit longer, and comes to a conclusion about its identity. He turns to his compatriots.

"Friends, I do believe that may be a meteor. Rapidly on its way to becoming a meteorite. And though I cannot say my identification is made with any authority, as astronomy is not my field of choice, may I suggest we increase our rate of travel towards Sugarcube Corner to take shelter? Also, screaming, crying and warning everypony else may be warranted."

Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: CyberUrist on June 07, 2012, 06:47:37 pm
"Uh, yeah, we should probably do that. I don't think getting hit by a big, flaming rock would be very good for me."

Roll for speed increase. (4) You increase your speed, rising to a decent run. You are now well out of range of the meteorite, and everypony else seems to have done the same. You are close to SCC, within sight of the door. It seems to have a few ponies with orders, but not much else.

As the trio walks in, they are greeted by Pinkie Pie in her average overactive manner.
"Howdy! Ooh! I know you! You're the new ponies in town! I'll have to throw a party later... What would you like? Since you're new, it's on the house! Not a bit!"

"I'll have a sugar taco and a cupcake."

"How did you know about sugar tacos? I just invented them! Ooo! Do you have a Grumblebluster-sense?? Then you would have known! And I'll give you the rainbow cupcake special!"
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD

"Okie Dokie Lokie! Whatever an 'eclair' is."

She goes into the kitchen and comes back, handing you an èclair (if thats how its spelled) and handing Grumblebluster his sugar taco heaped with cupcakes, muffins, and other sweets and desserts, and his rainbow cupcake.

Bulat follows the two into the shop, warily glancing back at the meteor as it hurtles downward.

"You know, back at Stalliongrad ve probably vouldn't ignor a rock falling from de sky to go for a snack"

He looks around the confectionary shop, and smiles warmly to Pinkie's greeting.

"Dat said, I can go for a cupcake or two, if you don't mind."

She hands you a platter of two cupcakes.

You hear an explosion outside!
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Sean Mirrsen on June 08, 2012, 08:56:54 am
Bulat sits down with his cupcakes, ignoring the explosion.

"No rush, I say. If it vere important, ponis vould be running and shouting right now. Hm, deez look good!"

He then proceeds to devour the cupcakes in traditional Ironwither manner - the one that always made him wonder how there were no chunks bitten out of the family dining table yet.

Cress nods in agreement, but carefully sits away from the windows.

"I'm sure somepony in this town is qualified to deal with this whole situation, but it certainly isn't me. I do wonder where it landed, though."

He looks thoughtful as he bites daintily at his pastry.

Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Andal on June 09, 2012, 08:42:14 am

Cress jumps up immediately, quickly finishing off the rest of his snack.

"Miss Sparkle has a interesting plant? I must see this! I take it she's in her library?"

He seems ready to bolt out the door.

Bulat wipes the crumbs from the table with his hoof, pauses, and spits out a woodchip.

"Oy. Birch. Hah-hem. Evil plant, you say? I vould much razzer check on dat fiery rock dat suppozedly vas vot exploded back dere. Vat says you, Bluster?"

Sorry for the delay, read all of the current 65 chapters of Griffin the Griffin.

"I'm going with Bulat."

The meteorite is right on the way to Twilight's library. You all walk out the door. (BTW, the plant will be your first fight, and the meteorite holds something interesting. I recommend checking both.)

"You're leaving then? Okie Dokie Lokie, see you around!"
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Andal on June 11, 2012, 02:35:11 pm
Cress sighs heavily, and shuffles after his friends.

"After we go look at the boring old meteorite, we can go check out Ms. Sparkle's plant afterwards, right? It could be a new species!"
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Sean Mirrsen on June 11, 2012, 02:55:27 pm
"So, dat's settled den. Hav a good day, miss Pie."

Bulat heads out of Sugarcube Corner towards where he assumes the meteorite has landed, using any visible smoke and fire to guesstimate its position. He does his best impression of a speedy canter, trying to keep up with Bluster and his wings. No call for galloping quite yet.

Your reach the site of the meteorite landing, yet despite not being a !!Meteor!! anymore it seems to be glowing.

The light seems to be lifting up and going into your bodies, giving a tingling feeling.
Your magical ability has increased! And something else...
Bulat and Grumblebluster now have the ability to use basic magic, and Cress has increased magical ability. For some strange reason, you now know Latin and, even more strangely, Pig Latin. What could this mean?
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Andal on June 12, 2012, 01:55:51 pm
Cress jumps back, startled by the glowing and tingling sensation.

"Hatway ehtay uckbay? I mean, what the buck? You two feel... odd, just now?"

He looks puzzled and thoughtful for a moment.

"Additionally, I don't recall ever hearing of meteorites behaving in this particular fashion. Perhaps we should hurry along to Miss Sparkle; she is a well-read pony, and it's possible she knows more about such things."

"Conjuro farinam." A sugar taco appears and I eat it, making the connection between the tingling and the sudden understanding of Latin.

Everyone leaves with their newfound abilities.

Yeah, just Google Translate the words for your spell. Some example spells:

((careful, with that system I might start going for, say, "incudem iactari impetum" or "magnis subita cade e conflagrare incudas". Because I could certainly try to. >:) ))

Bulat reels from the sensation for a moment, but shakes off the strange feeling.

"Ugh. Ai, my hed feels strange. Vot is dis strange rock, anyvey? You two go on ahead and help miss Sparkle, I vant to try someting here."

Bulat carefully approaches the meteorite, tentatively feeling the temperature of the surface with his hoof. He examines the rock until he finds what he thinks is a deep crack in its surface. Then, rearing up, Bulat strikes the rock with both of his forehooves, making full use of his Ironwither strength and blacksmith skill.

Cress trots off towards the Ponyville library. As he goes, he occasionally glances at plants in window boxes and along the road, muttering "Gigas flore" experimentally.

((Egads, this will be probably laughable for anyone who actually knows Latin. Sorry if I butcher it horribly, the only Latin I've ever used is in identifying plants.))
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Sean Mirrsen on June 13, 2012, 07:39:43 am
((I wouldn't worry, I don't think too many people actually know Latin around here. Though I'm fairly sure there are people here who do. :) I just use the Google Translate site and apply what vestigial knowledge of the syntax I have to the output.

On that note, I am also fairly sure there's no such thing as Latin in Equestria, kinda like there is no English or French. At least it would be named as a pun of some sort.))

On that note, I am also fairly sure there's no such thing as Latin in Equestria, kinda like there is no English or French. At least it would be named as a pun of some sort.

((Perhaps we can call it Ancient Pegasan? Since the pegasi have the whole Greco-Roman vibe going on.))
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: CyberUrist on June 13, 2012, 08:31:07 am
(P.S. ignore the 'no Latin in Equestria' thing, they have French AKA fancy, so just consider it another fancy language. Also, I don't know Latin, I might take classes later though. I just use Google Translate.)

Bulat cracks open the rock, revealing a strange metal, shining so bright it's almost blinding. A projection appears out of the light, taking the form of a pony.

"Interitum mundi! Erit destruere mannis! Erit interficiam omnes! Veniemus et mundi regnare! Tibi vivat, quia habet virtutem ad illud idem! Loquimini verba virtutem sic vives. Verba a plerisque dici non potest. Te sunt specialis mannis. Non nisi amicis! Non salvabo eos! Ego sum a titulus perditionem. Vivere dum potest. Nostrum genus est potentissimum! Etiam nisi gestum, verba nostra potestate. Te non spes."

The strange apparition dissapears.
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Sean Mirrsen on June 13, 2012, 09:26:36 am
((If I may point out one more thing, this technically isn't an RTD. More of a freeform RP at this point. I don't particularly mind though.))

Bulat listens to the ominous-sounding monologue of the apparition with mild disbelief and slight concern, but as soon as it disappears he turns his attention to the insides of the broken rock.

"Aga! I knew dere vould be someting interesting in here."

Bulat pries off a manageable chunk of the shining metal and stuffs it into his saddlebags ((that he always had on all this time)) and makes his way after Bluster and Cress, who have no doubt reached the library while he was busy.

(Well, you might as well all be here.)

As you walk into the library tree that is Twilight's house, the lavender unicorn greets you.

"Oh! You must be the new ponies in town. Pinkie must have sent you over to help with my, er, plant problem." She gestures to a large plant that seems to have teeth. "Um, I think I'll just leave you here to deal with it." She runs out and shuts the door.

The large plant seems to want to eat you. What will you do?

Battle commence!
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: Andal on June 13, 2012, 02:53:17 pm
Cress stares at the plant with a big grin.

"Aren't you an absolute beauty! Similar to a Zebracan Tooth-Vine, or possibly a Griffin-catcher from the northern bogs! Fascinating!"

His eyes gleam and his grin becomes slightly... manic.

"I simply must have it for my collection!"

He attempts to grasp and hold the plant still with his magic.
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD

Bulat looks over the plant warily, and scratches his chin.

"Vait a moment, is it just me or did miss Tvilight - whom, unless I am mistaken, I hav heard to have ridden dis town of a fifty-hoof Ursa Minor by her lonesome - just retreat from a... toothy plant? You may vant to be careful dere, Cress."

He tries to edge around the library interior, looking for a good direction of attack on the undoubtedly dangerous plant. He also momentarily laments not having brought any of his favorite daggers - blunt kicks won't be too great against a plant.
Title: Re: Roll To Pony, My First RTD
Post by: CyberUrist on June 13, 2012, 03:14:43 pm
(6 + 2 v 1 ) Cress grabs the plant with his magic, and instantly subdues it. It's now his to keep. Twilight peeks through the keyhole, and comes in, seeimg her problem has been solved.

"Oh, thank you." She sighs relievedly. "I thought I would never get rid of that thing... You see, I had a small cute little flower, then I saw this weird pony, who looked like he was made of light. I heard him say some weird words, and then the flower turned into... that. Thank you. You want to know what he said?"

((Well, that went well.  :o))

Cress looks up from cooing and mumbling in foal-speak at the plant.

"Certainly, Miss Sparkle."

He returns to cuddling the subdued plant.

Cress looks puzzled.

He looks fondly at the photosynthetic monstrosity.

"Arright... dat vas a little bit anticlimactic. Miss Sparkle, could you perhaps help me identify dis metal? Even being a blacksmith, I must say its appearance makes me confused."

Bulat produces the strange piece of metal from his saddlebags and puts it on a nearby table.

"It came from de large rock dat fell into de town just recently. And dere vas a strange pony made of light dere as vell, spouting some end-ov-Equestria nonsense in de same kind of, as you put it, "gobbledygook", before disappearing. It might be a matter vorth investigating."

The unicorn inspects the metal, and then surrounds it in a magical aura. A bolt of energy leaps to her horn, causing her to stop the spell. "What the...? The metal not only emits some sort of strange magic, it zapped my horn! Where did you say you got this? A meteorite? I think you should visit Copper, who lives in Canterlot. He's an armorer for the Canterlot Royal Guard and is an expert metallurgist. He should have some equipment to examine it." She hands you a bag of bits. "This is for the airship fair."

(P.s. IDK where my dad went, so I'll be taking GB.)

((OOC: Can you switch to something different for Twilight's text? Like #D2A0E6 her coat color, for instance? For the benefit of us people using Darkling? Or at least #D0A0D0, if the other is hard to remember.))

Bulat hesitates for a moment, but is ultimately unable to resist money being offered. He puts the sack of bits and the piece of metal into his saddlebags, thanks Twilight, and turns to his companions.

"So den. I vill probably go to investigate dis strange metal forst and formost. I beliv it has some importance beyond just being from a piece of meteorite. I suggest ve take some time to gadder vat ve vill need and meet up at de airship dock. Assuming you two vant to go, of course."

With that, he leaves the library and heads for his smithy situated in a small house on the eastern edge of town.

I mean, he's like some alien dude who is obviously not trying to do good. I think I whe should go to the market for supplies." He motions to the door. "Let's go."

"I guess that is a logical course of action. I need to gather some things from home, but then I'll meet you all at the dock."

Cress glances at the newly christened "Chompy".

"Oh dear, what am I going to do with this sweet little thing? I can't leave little Chompy-whompy home alone."

He ponders the problem for a moment, then glances up with a gleam in his eye.

"I have it! What a brilliant solution, if I may say so myself!"

He turns his magic on Chompy, uttering "Herba crura".

((Attempting to give Chompy leg-like appendages.))

*Schloooorp* 'Chompy' grows legs complete with feet. It stumbles around for a bit before figuring out how to use his new legs. He seems to not crave for pony flesh anymore. "Wow, congrats Cress. You just domesticated a darn PLANT. That's gotta be quite an achievement."

You walk out the door and walk down the street, eventually leading to the market. There are many stores, that sell various things, including weapons, armor, and books. There is:

Stomper's Smithy
Bookworm's Place
Rosian's General Goods Shop
The Foitin' Place (Fighting)
Clover's Plant Emporium - For all your plant related needs!
The Uniqueness

Cress decides popping into a few shops before heading for his house would be acceptable.

He enters Bookworm's Place, and examines the shelves for any book that might have a clue as to Chompy's origin.

You examine the shelves, and find these books related to plants:

Codex of Equestrian Flora
The Hitchhiker's Guide to Exotic Zebrican Plants
Plants and Gardening for Foals (For dummies)

Any book is free to borrow, you just need to see the clerk.

I go to The Foitin' Place and buy a blade.

Grumblebluster is now equipped with a steel blade! +1 to combat rolls.

Cress asks to borrow the Codex and Hitchhiker's Guide, and slides them into his saddlebag.

He then heads over to Clover's to poke his head in, looking for anything that might catch his eye.

((I'm holding this up, aren't I?))

Bulat takes quick stock of his belongings at the forge. Most are obviously too large or heavy to take on a trip anywhere, but he still takes with him a portable forging kit, some rope (never know when you need it), and pair of his own hoof-made daggers, fit for stabbing or throwing. And of course the strange piece of metal, and the money given him by miss Twilight. All this stuff weighs a fair bit, but Bulat wouldn't be an Ironwither if he allowed something as trivial as this to slow him down. He closes the door of his house behind him, and turns his eyes to the far mountains in the east. There, cantilevered off the side of a sheer cliff, the city of Canterlot looks to be almost weightless, and its waterfalls reinforce the illusion that the whole thing is built on a cloud. It looks majestic, even from this distance. Bulat shifts, testing the weight in his saddlebags, and, content, turns towards the path leading to the Ponyville Airship Platform.

"Vell! Let's get going."

((sorry if I'm taking over the GM's duties in describing the world, but everything is sorta dry here otherwise. I hope you don't mind, CyberUrist. :) ))

(I don't mind at all ;D)

You arrive at the airship platform, where a red-coated, orange-maned conducter pony with a ticket for a cutie asks for the fare. "Why hello there," He says with a slightly british accent, "I am Conducter Golden Ticket. Just call me Ticket, or Goldie, I don't mind. Now then, shall I have your fares?"

((this is silly. Where are you people? Andal's situation hasn't updated and Bluster seems to be nowhere in particular.))

"Ah, hello dere. My name is Bulat, I'm going to Canterlot. I'm vaiting for two of my companions to arrive, but do tell me ven the airship to Canterlot is about to leave. If dey don't make it on time, I'll be going alone."

Bulat stands on the platform, examining the airship from up close and intermittently looking around for Cress or Bluster.

Oh, sorry.

-Cress-

You step into Clover's Plant Emporium and see a few different sections. Mundane plants (Equestrian), Mundane plants (Zebrican), Exotic plants (Equestrian), Exotic plants (Zebrican).

((Sorry, I've been without power and unable to get web access!))

Plants of various sizes, shapes and hues create a dense walls of foliage throughout the shop. The air is humid and filled with an organic scent mixed with the perfume of fragrant blooms. A regular customer, Cress ignores the mundane plants and trots over to the exotic sections, glancing over at the shop's owner behind the counter.

"Anything new and exciting for me this week, Clover?"

Clover, a mid-sized, green-coated pony with the same cutie mark as his name, replies.
"Oh, Cress my old friend! Well, in the Exotic Zebrican section, I have something that may pique your interest; it's try to drink my blood multiple times. It's called the Zebrican Vampire Plant." He motions to the Exotic (Zebrican) aisle. "Right down that way, section D, shelf 14." He notices Chompy walking around a bit behind Cress. "What is that? I've never seen anything like it in my entire life! How did it get the legs, I wonder? What does it eat? Where did you get it?" He assaults cress with a barrage of questions.

"Wait, an actual Zebrican Vampire plant? I simply must have it!"

Cress hurries towards the correct section.

"As for little Chompy here," he says, glancing at the following plant-monster, "I got him from Miss Sparkle! Haven't gotten a chance to I.D. him yet. The legs... well, they are my own addition..."

He chuckles nervously.

"Not sure as of yet what he'll eat, but probably medium sized mammals of some sort."

He flashes Clover a slightly manic grin, and then turns towards to Vampire plant in front of him.

"Oh, isn't it darling! What healthy foliage! How much?"

He moves in to get a closer look.

((As soon as this bit is over, I'll be heading Cress straight over to the airship platform (assuming he's capable) so we can get this show back on the road (Sky? Whatever). Well, depending on Bluster's arrival, that is.))

"Oh, I'd be careful around him if I were you. He doesn't like ponies being close to him, lest he almost sucks them dry. As for the price, weeelll... I'm not sure. I mean, it's a rare Zebrican plant, imported straight from my supplier, and it's the only one I have. On the other hand, you are my best customer, and I know you'll take care of it... How about, 50 bits?"

(You have enough money, and bits are worth quite a lot in Equestria.)

-Grumblebluster-

Grumblebluster, having acquired his blade, goes down to the Uniqueness.
"Hello, do you have a purple wangadanger with extra lasers on the side?" He asks the clerk, a pink-coated, white-maned mare with a question mark on her flank.

"Why certainly!" Out of absolutely freakin' nowhere, she pulls out a purple wangadanger with laser beams floating around it, poised to strike. "That'll be 5 bits."

"It's amazing how cheap you can get these things." He pays the clerk, and heads out to the airship where Bulat is waiting.

(Wangadangers- how to describe them... think of a shark, shoved into an orange juice carton, on fire with glowing eyes covered in insectoid beavers reciting Shakespearian poetry 24/7. "Lasers on the side" means he wanted it to have lasers orbiting its diameter. This one is purple, meaning the shark and orange carton, as well as the lasers now orbiting it, are a deep shade of purple.)

 "I'll take it!"

Cress floats the correct amount of coins out of his saddlebag and over to Clover. He then levitates his purchase and brings it in front of him, muttering "Non nocere me."

Cress nestles the now docile plant carefully into his saddlebag, then happens to glance at the clock over the counter.

"Sweet Celestia! I can't believe I've taken so long! I must be off to the airship dock at once."

He looks over his shoulder as he bolts out the door.

"Thanks again, Clover!"

Chompy keeping pace behind, Cress rushes to his destination.

Looking at the two ponies that just ran towards him, Golden Ticket says, "Ok, so everypony's here? Alright then, here are your tickets." He hands you three green paper tickets, marked with "The Swan - 1 Flight". "Now, just give me the bits, and I'll take you onboard," he says, motioning to majestic airship. It's obviously a luxury craft, designed for comfortable passage in between Ponyville and Canterlot. Despite being built for comfort, it looks to be very sturdy, likely even able to withstand a dragon.

Out of the corner of your eye, (Read: from any perspective) you see something faintly glowing that darts out of your vision. Mysterious...

"Don't you have our bits, friend?"

((OOC: I've no idea how I manage to forget about such things. Sorry for the holdup.))

Slightly enthralled by the design of the airship, Bulat spaces out a little and manages to completely miss the arrival of Cress and Bluster. Cress' words snap him out of it in a moment though. Bulat blinks quickly several times, regaining his focus on the surroundings.

"Ack! Vot? Ah, you guys are here already. Yes, I do have de bits. Here you are, Mr.Goldie, dis should be enough for de tree of us."

He pulls the bit pouch out of his saddlebags and holds it out on his forehoof towards the conductor.

Handing you the tickets, his horn glows and the tickets become golden. It seems he has activated them. "Right this way," he says, motioning to the entrance. You walk inside, following his lead through a wide, decorated hall. Seemingly arriving at your destination, he stops and speaks. "These will be your rooms. These rooms have excellent views from the sky, and have buttons to call for room service at any time." He then motions to a little glass panel next to a door. "To get in, just wave your ticket in front of the authenticator." He waves a ticket, seemingly a master ticket, in front of the panel. A 'click' is heard and he opens the door. "This is to keep stowaways out of the rooms. In fact, you might not have noticed, but there was also a forcefield at the entrance, also to prevent stowaways." Closing the door, he begins to walk away. "Have a nice trip on The Swan!"

(Side note: I'm trying to be a bit more descriptive with my scenes.)

Once again, you see a strange figure down the hall, but just as you look at it, it disappears...
