I've re-genned a world I had been playing on until now with additional z-levels to allow for greater space for upwards-building. I played as an adventurer first to obtain information to be used as backdrop in the story, and found out that the capital(mountainhome) of the Empire of the Static Portals, the aggresive, expansionist dwarven super-kingdom than spanned the northern regions of the continent that would become my home civilization, was located in the far east of its dominion, on the goblin dark fortress of Nakogogust. ... I actually went all the way there to confirm that the High Queen's residence was indeed the obsidian structure.
Now all I had to do was embark on the promised site that would become my greatest megastructure yet..... but just out of curiosity I moved my embark cursor to the capital, and noticed that I can embark on it, just like other goblin structures. But as I have written above, this goblin fort is THE MOUNTAINHOME! The QUEEN lives here!
To the question at hand.
Does anyone have an idea of what would happen if I did embark over Nakogogust? Would it become dehabitated? Or would the queen and all the other inhabitants(which includes enslaved(or assimilated) goblins and elves) become natives? Or perhaps the whole thing would just bug out and the game will act as if the mountainhome along with the royal entourage was established somewhere else...
By the way, the General-Marshall of the Static Portals is apparently an elf.
