Because things on the tech side of the spectrum tend to be more realistic. Hence why strong AI cannot be made in C-like languages, lasers bloom and mechs are little more than weapons platforms.

Some nice, old fashioned sidewinder rockets should do more than enough damage, and it's also harder to hit than a mech due to the speed. Now *that* may be a method for Will to fight. Simply by piloting a fucking jet and doing a nice bombing on a fly-by

Anyways. I'm sure we could figure out some things to make mech-assembly easier. Yomiko, Lunette, and Selina could work on specific bits to make the general frame made by Kyle and such work. Will could make the blueprints.
