B Would have gone to the deepest part of the mines but we don't have fire protection so the mid areas will work for now.
(B, if it ends up tied.)

The Mid-Depths

A. Explore a Narrow Vein: "This narrow vein of gold looks promising. It might be tight, but it could lead to a rich deposit."

B. Investigate a Dark Cavern: "There's a dark cavern off to the side. It looks risky, but who knows what treasures or secrets it might hold?"

C. Shore Up a Crumbling Passage: "That passage over there looks unstable. Maybe shoring it up could reveal a new area or provide a safer route for future explorations."

First roll, got a 3!

Result of Exploring the Narrow Vein - Partial Success
With cautious steps, Urist navigates the narrow vein, pickaxe in hand. The space is cramped, making it difficult to swing the tool effectively. Despite the challenge, Urist manages to chip away at the vein, revealing a modest amount of gold ore. It's not a vast deposit, but it's certainly worth the effort. However, during the excavation, a small rockslide is triggered. Urist skillfully avoids any serious injury but finds the path back slightly obstructed. It will take some effort to clear the way out.

A. Clear the Obstructed Path: "Better clear this rockslide before it becomes a bigger problem. It'll take some effort but safety first."

B. Scout for a New Vein: "This vein was a good start, but it's time to find a richer spot. Let's scout for a new vein in the Mid-Depths."

C. Do something else.

Result of Clearing the Obstructed Path - Epic Fail (rolled 1)

As Urist sets to work clearing the rockslide, his efforts inadvertently trigger a larger collapse. The ground beneath him gives way, and he tumbles into the darkness, caught in a cascade of falling rocks and dust. Miraculously, he emerges relatively unharmed but finds himself in an unknown and vast cave system, far below the Mid-Depths. The only source of light in this vast and mysterious cave is the eerie glow of fungi, casting shadows and highlighting the intricate rock formations.

Urist dusts himself off amidst the eerie quiet of the vast cavern. The air is cooler here, and the distant echoes suggest that this cave system might be more extensive than any known part of Deepdelve. He now faces a new set of challenges in this uncharted territory.

Options for Exploration in the Unknown Cave System
A. Explore the Cave: "No use sitting around. Let's see what secrets this cave holds. Maybe there's another way out or something valuable to discover."

B. Try to Climb Back Up: "I should try to climb back up the way I fell. It’s risky, but getting back to familiar territory is crucial."

C. Set Up a Camp: "Better to set up a temporary camp here. I can rest, assess my situation, and maybe signal for help."

Honestly I'm gonna be a lot more worried if this starts looking like Mouldwood Depths instead. Giant spiders are bad enough, but when the darkness itself is trying to kill you...
