It's a MUD with it's own web browser... Craft (weapons, armor, food, wagons, extra) Explore, Roleplay, Build cities, houses, out postes, walls... Trade, and a great in game graphical map...
Check it out.... warning very addictive.

Yeah usually if I want to see if their just here to advertise is I check when they registered. If it was made around the time the post then it is an advertisement.

to be fair his last 2 posts are about this game. which he never mentioned before in over half a year that he has been with us... and his older messages are a bit different in style (not enough to prove anything, but just to make you think).

Actually, his former posts have the same style as that of this new post. I suppose he just want to get new people to play the MUD, and he was so addicted to the game, he hasn't posted for a while.

Hasn't posted in a while is an understatement. His account has been active for less that two hours in total, and he's never browsed anywhere but the Gameplay Questions and this board.

All this has happened before and will happen again.
It's not the first time a bunch of VN people jump on someone thinking they were a spambot, or making it appear so. I think the only solution is to move the VN forum into gaia online or something and hope for a mass exodus.

I'm not try to be instigative, but the only thing that happened here was someone took someone else too seriously over the internet. Whether it was him of us or us of him (making the reverse troll comment totally not off topic) is up for debate should anyone really still care at this point.

I think that posting a game with the URL in the subject is what actually crossed the line. It's a very FINE line, but it seemed a little too...blatant? I dunno. It moved the tone from "Hey here's a game I'd like to talk about it" to "Go play my game now".

This has happened. Doesn't make it right.
We knew pretty well this was not a spambot when this guy came back. And yet we still accused him, even when he showed displeasure towards it.
Had he not responded, or the account been freshly made, I would have joined the fun.

We didn't accuse him after he responded, but he went from zero to flaming in a heartbeat. Kinda hard to have a civil conversation with someone who responds angrily to his own posts before anyone else has a chance to interrupt.

It advertises itself as a MUD. That to me implies a roleplaying focus, but the first thing that happens when you get into the game is some NPC starts babbling to you about where to click your mouse and stuff, and I though it perfectly reasonably that my backwards suspicious viking dude would try to kill this guy, since only witches talk like that. Unfortunately that game wouldn't let me, and then I had to go forth and kill 20 rats, which isn't really that fun.

Please try not to moderate the boards yourselves. If you think there is a spambot or something, just let me know in a moderator report. Otherwise, things like the mess in this thread are more likely to happen.
