Title: Old compaq evo N410c what OS?

I have an old evo n410c notebook that I have ordered a new hard-drive for. It's a hitachi travelstar 40 gb (crap). I was thinking of putting Slackware on it but I'm open for a better suggestion from someone with more know how! Would be nice to play DF (small map, low population on)
