God v. God
« on: June 04, 2011, 11:28:39 am »

Not exactly sure where to put this, so I'll put it into DF General Discussion...

I want to know who you think would win in a fight:
Armok, Kurtulmak, or Urdlen.

No no, not THAT Armok, I mean Armok the god of blood!

And we were hypothesising about the sexual relations between elves and trees.

You people underestimate the power of KURTULMAK.

That is, Armok would win in the fight, but Kurtulmak would come back later and re-write the records so it looks like he won.

Armok Worldforger, God of Blood, is far beyond the power of any deity of a specific universe or species.  He creates and destroys such beings routinely, merely for his own amusement.

Quote from: The Manual for Slaves to Armok
Armok, the God of Blood, is just about the only constant in these chaotic random universes.  A general sense of conflict keeps Armok appeased - when the universe becomes too boring it is set on the anvil of creation to be reforged.  In some universes, Armok may be very involved, inspiring priesthoods and millions of followers.  In others, Armok may take a lesser role, or no role at all, up until the apocalypse.

There may be other deities that are a bit more transitory.  These gods may or may not last between different incarnations of the universe, but in a given universe, they are the most powerful beings next to Armok.  They can do virtually anything - although the scope of a deity's powers is sometimes restricted greatly.  That is, a god of earth has control over everything relating to that element but not over water.  A god of disease can spread plagues but cannot or will not cause earthquakes or make farms more productive.  It is not for us to say whether the powers of the deities are actually restricted, or whether their divine thoughts are so focused on their unwavering purpose that other things simply do not matter to them.

Yes, Kurtulmak would obviously win. Tell me, is there a way to edit my vote?
Also, Armok, are you wearing a tin foil hat by any chance?

Dwarven Science: We do what we must, because, we're bored.

Every few miles, [the dwarves] stop the cart.  One of the dwarfs (sic) gets off, digs a hole down below the dirt layers, licks the bedrock, and then they know exactly where they are.  It's called GPS: Geological Piquancy Sampling.

Armok would win, with a close second to Kurtulmak.

Armok would probably only pin or otherwise disable Kurtulmak though, I don't think he'd actually wanna hurt a kobold.  Not even a kobold god.

I wanted to to allow the poll choices to be edited... but I didn't want any god-related mischief.
...or I didn't realize I could set it to be that way until I had already hit the button.  But whatever.

Also, I voted Urdlen because someone has to show him/her some love.  Poor little gnome god.

I can't tell if the Kurtulmak "edits" are legit and that kinda weirds me out.

Kurtulmak was a corrupt moderator, so I don't really think he's that cool...

Armok on the other hand, is very cool. Even the forumguy.
