Title: [Stonesense] Does it follow the cursor?
Post by: jeancallisti on November 03, 2013, 09:26:54 am
I've seen videos of Stonesense and I'm wondering :

- does the Stonesense viewport moves automatically follow the DF viewport moves? Or at least, is there a simple way to bind them?
...OR...
- is it impossible to bind them -- and therefore Stonesense remains a visualizer that you use only every now and then?

By default (at least on linux) the two views are independently moved.

OK but is it possible to bind them together?

From the readme, and keybinds.txt (on windows):
Code: [Select]
-- Follow mode --
When you turn on follow mode, the screen will jump to the location of the DF window.
You can adjust the position of the follow mode relative to the DF window by
holding Ctrl while using the keyboard window movement keys.

When you turn on cursor follow mode, the debug cursor will follow the DF cursor when it exists.

From keybinds.txt (on windows):

Yes, thanks. I was a bit puzzled because the readme tells about the follow mode but doesn't say how to activate it; one needs to go check the key bindings first (it seems obvious afterwards, but not for a newbie).

I'm getting more familiar with DF, DFHack and stonesense, hopefully I should ask less stupid questions ;)
