Indeed. It was pretty impressive how FFS managed to make a relatively out of nowhere heel-face-turn make perfect sense for his character.

Al's pretty cool, yeah. He's the obnoxious womanising party-member bound to either mature out of the phase during the journey or get his smart-ass killed...which he already almost did.

I also read all his lines in a gnarly surfer brah dialect.
