They might as well create Duke Nukem 3D with better graphics and give it away for free.

75 Megaman games and 12 cameos?
SEVENTY-FIVE???

What would happen if the Megaman people and the Duke Nukem people switched IPs? (Intellectual Properties)

It's easy to make 75 games when they're all the same.

My own wild guess: DNF is just a collection of models and textures the team throws together now and then to test new graphics engines. Nobody has any intention of making a game, but people like Duke too much to give up on him.

Either way, DNF will be a record holder for a very long period in the "The game which was in development for an ungodly long time, but never been released" category....that is for sure.  :D

Well, there IS a reason for calling it "Duke Nukem Forever".

Sad thing is, they really can't release it now.  They've built up waaay too many expectations from taking so damned long that anything they release will be seen as mediocre, as it "wasn't worth the development time".  That may actually be what they're trying to fix, making the game the best it can possibly be for that day and age.  Only problem is that it takes so long to make it that good, so by the time they're finished with it the market has spat out hardware updates that open up possibilities never before imagined.  And so they have to start over again with the new hardware.

And the more time they take to build the damn thing, the greater the expectations become.  They passed the point of "totally screwed" a few years ago.

Woah! Backtrack a moment, there's an elite 3? Is it anywhere near as good as 2?

Frontier: First encounters. It's basically Frontier:elite 2 with textures and extra bugs, but it is considered "elite 3".

Note: You can download it (legally) from that link if you want to try it. Also get JJFFE so it'll work properly under windows. You can run the original exe under dosbox but tends to be horribly slow there, and JJFFE fixes some bugs.

Stop stealing 3D Realms' bandwidth Soulwynd.

Duke is disappointed in you.

Edit: I notice one thing about 3D realms in the team photo. Very poor female to male ratio. Unless the guy sitting in front snacked on the one female employee just before the photo shoot.

I'm just amazed they had that many employees.  What the hell have that many people been doing?
