OK

Here is how we're handing the posthumous GLORY.

Everyone got 30 GLORY for each successful mission  goal, Ie 90 total.

1. Get intel
2. Get kids
3. Blow shit up.

Now, I'm gonna give everyone 30 for each goal accomplished WHILE THEY WERE ALIVE.

So I think basically everyone was alive when Tiruin found the kids and we'll call that completing a goal. So if you died in the blast, you still get 30 GLORY. Did anyone die who didn't die in the blast?

Jonathan Gilmore: Went down with the plane during mission 2

Joan Macaraeg: Burnt by the fuel tank explosion during mission 2

Zack Krokowicz: Burnt by the fuel tank explosion during mission 2

Robert Davidson: Burnt by the fuel tank explosion during mission 2

Eep ._. I hope I didn't stress you or sound like I was complaining Piece D: I was more thinking 'Battalion Goals Glory' and all :O Like how reputation would carry over as a squad or company and stuff.

Yes, assume you have a flashlight.
OK WHO SUGGESTED THIS KIT AND CAN I GET A VEST AND HELMET WITH IT :I
Because I don't want to flail into missions and only realize right in the middle of a crossfire that I lack essential utilities. :P

Also copying again just to finalize :P

Welp, hello only 30 :O
Note to self: Wonder if dying as an active sacrifice (eg holding the line and all) equals glory too, but then realize that it matters in RPing because your allies can posthumously recognize your valor and all.

But woo! \o/ Planning for Piece's special day :D

Okay, my "new" (just copied and pasted) character is here:

Croc, you have one too many +1s to skill for a new character. did yu include a levelup from your previous character, or did you have some glory that you spent for that level or something?

I wouldn't worry about that Tiruin. I asked PW in PM and IRC to clarify the situation with mission success glory, since people were saying different things about who should probably get it.
Full disclosure: I did recommend that, going forward, people receive Objective Success glory only for a) objectives completed while they wee alive, or b) objectives that they were "clearly instrumental in achieving." looks like PW's decision echoes that pretty closely, so, if you feel unhappy about the mission objective reward, it's my fault.

hmm, in line with what i said above, I think it would be wise to include player absenteeism as "not alive" for purposes of awarding glory. That way a character can't just walk into the mission, disappear for the whole thing, and walk back in at the end to reap all the rewards :P

As for "your allies can posthumously recognize your valor and all," well, that's why you got that bonus 50, right? You should probably keep part of that bonus reward (if you haven't managed to give it away to the others yet), in recognition of your teammates' good will. But it is yours to do with as you like :D

I think i have 145 GLORY
I'm looking it up now Papaj. you lived through it all right? so 90 for successful mission completion + the 55 you had in your sheet beforehand.
tell me, did you do anything that you didn't get glory for? anything gloryworthy?

HE 30-06 rounds are not very realistic, incendiary or AP is another story however. Such rounds would be used by specialists, such as machine gunners or snipers, in certain circumstances, so a commando force like the 888th could have a few. However, we have nazi lightning guns, so I doubt realism is much of a concern. (I personally dislike the idea of HE rifle rounds though. Too small to hold a decent fuse and a large enough charge to really matter.)

Rifle caliber explosive rounds were actually used a fair bit by Russian and German snipers, IIRC.  Supposedly, WWII explosive rounds were only intended for use in spotting (they're never visible in flight, unlike tracers which can be seen and tracked from some angles), but some individuals decided to appropriate them for anti-personnel use.  Rather famously, Simo Hayha got shot in the face with one, though he survived, due to actually being a time traveler from 3049 playing the 273rd CoD sequel.

Incendiaries were far more practical, though not for anti-personnel use.  I was figuring I'd grab a clip of those too, after PW says whether 5-round clips are cheaper than 20-round mags.

Using a Browning M2 on single fire makes for a highly effective sniper rifle---the US experimented with that quite a bit during what, Vietnam?

Hathcock did!  I don't believe it was experimented with officially before he did it, though.  Also, "highly effective" is misleading, as the M2 was rather inaccurate in a sniping role.  It was useful strictly because it had such extreme range that you were basically immune to return fire.  For us, an M2 would be a massive waste of glory, because we're close-range high-mobility operators, two categories which the M2 is terrible in.

Ah, excuse me! I myself don't know why I have four +1s, so I reduced it back to three.

Huh. What breaching options do we have at the moment? I'm thinking the French clearer shotgun and satchel charges as the most reliable. But both are really loud, and the satchel charge is overkill.

Does it seem like a good idea to try to get a much smaller type of explosive for opening locked things?

So what's the glory price and stats for a flak vest? Oh, and can we trade goods we looted for small amounts of glory?

Random quote by piecewise from last mission:
Quote
Man, I'm curious to see what happens with the next mission where its less "RUN AND MURDER" and more"Think and MURDER"

And one final thing
Quote
[4] The writing is german and is nothing but a single word repeated around the circumfrence of the cylinder.  The first is "HERZ" which could mean Heart, or soul, or courage depending on the context. The one under it is "ATEM" which could mean breath or wind. A third, "BISSIGKEIT", which was something like vitriol or Bile. The fourth, "VERARBEITEN" which could mean digest or work or process. "SPANNEN" for Flex or Clamp or something like that.  Finally, "SCHLEUSEN" which could mean channeling, funneling or filtering.

The symbol isn't one you know the meaning of but it is familiar. You recognize it from something another soldier found on D-day; a medallion that had the same symbol on it.

You tune your radio to command.
Did anyone notice/read this stuff besides people who are dead? (Bob was the one who picked up the medallion, so I'm curious)
Quote
The medals are a Narvik shield and a Wound badge. The medallion is something that no one on the ship has ever seen before. Its made of steel with some silver plating and looks like a wreath of some kind with a central symbol. It lacks the standard nazi swastika and instead has some sort of flowing, vaguely pinwheel and cephalopodan design.

I'm not sure if it's actually a historical thing, or a plot thing specifically for this game (more likely the latter since no one on ship had seen it before), but if it's historical, this is the closest thing to piecewise described (though it isn't a perfect match): https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/Tapferkeits-_und_Verdienstauszeichnung_f%C3%BCr_Angeh%C3%B6rige_der_Ostv%C3%B6lker_in_Silber.jpg

Are there any more items people need costs for?

As per the Universal Kit I've added

1 Clicker
1 L type Flashlight
1 sewing kit
1 Mirror
1 razor set
1 Bar of soap
1 Toothpaste and toothbrush set
1 compressed TP roll
1 Pack of Chesterfield Cigarettes
1 Lighter
1 Mess kit
1 Knit cap
1 Notepad and Pen
1 Haversack
1 Gunbelt with Magazine pouches
1 Canteen and Cup
1 Compass

That should take care of your basic crap, me thinks. Its as historically accurate as I could find.

GLORY section added to OP.

If everyone is set for progression, I'll do it.
