Hello and welcome to my very first RTD c: (and the first time GMing aswell, so be aware of this. Also death is fairly common in grim darkness of future. Ah, and my 40k lore knowledge and especially my english language or writing skills are rather modest)
//////////// how it works
The main objective of players is to hold the fortified position against all the odds.
How the game goes :
First of all goes the reinforcements phase, if there are less then 6 current living player characters, then the 6 dice is rolled for reinforcements archetype. All nonspecial characters are basicly guardsmen of rolled flavour.
1)Deathkorps
2)Valhallan ice warriors
3) Cadian regiment
4) feudal world regiment
5) feral world recruits
6) hiveworld underhive scum guys
then 20 roll is performed for special characters getting into reinforcement, if it is < 15( it is 25 % chance, so we dont have 6 comissars in the trench) , then there are no special characters, if it is > 15, then second 20 roll is performed among those, who are rolling in this reinforcement phase and had special character on in their preferences.
If reinforcement roll is above 15, and there are any with special character turned on among the rolling guys, then the person rolling the highest out of 20 roll gets the special snowflake role after performing 6 roll to decide it(yes, that is lot of rolls)
1) Comissar. (It would be really preferable, if you would not go full BLAM BLAM BLAM on your teammates, but it is up to your choice)
2)Sanctioned psyker. Can result in either epic win, or ruining everything. Psychic discipline is selected by lucky player ( if psyker will get rolled out of archetypes by rng ever ) from : pyromancy/ biomancy/ telekinesis/ divination/ telepathy
3)Field medic. Gets medical supplies and gets +1 to roll, if it is about stopping bleeding or applying medicine.
4)Priest. Faith and big chainsaw.
5)Leitenant. May roll for contacting command once per two days.
6) Marksman. Gets longlas and +1 to perception rolls.

1 reinforcements are awfully undergeared
2 reinforcements get the main gear except lacking something like helmets or boots.
3 just standart guard gear nothing too fancy
4-5 the whole squad gets random specialist weapon in their inventory, they are first pick up first serve tho( they may have limited ammo in case of meltaguns or missile launchers and that kind of stuff, aswell )
6 munitorum messed up and squad gets something extraordinary
after rolls are performed new player characters get to their position and things start.
each 10 days of game time, if there are less then 6 living player characters new reinforcements and munitorum rolls are performed

Dice Rolls:
[1] – failure that makes the current situation even worse.
[2] – failure that has no dire repercussions.
[3] – marginal failure – you did something, but it didn’t really help much.
[4] – marginal success – you could have done it better.
[5] – perfect success – it couldn’t have gone any better.
[6] – overshoot – you did it, but either caused damage to yourself, to someone nearby or to the moral fabric of society. (Yes, I used Harry Baldman rtd about undead c:)
Combat: opposed rolls – difference indicates degree of success. Subject to GM whimsy.
Death: usually happens, when you get injuries too hard to survive. This is simple.

Biography: who you were, what you did (please no going into warp and defeating Kharne in armwrestling match, also it should be fitting into the archetype you got during roll)
