A Star Wars (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=158469.0) succession fort.
We are an expatriate Jawa clan on the world of Anenu Liceva, known to the locals as "The Planet of Legends". It has been 125 years from colonization. Many factions contest this world for settlement and mineral rights. The Jawas here survive by trading with peaceful groups such as the diverse settlers, Rebel Alliance cells, and the Jedi. They must deal carefully however, as not all the other groups are friendly. Stormtroopers, Pirates, Sith, and others have no qualms about wiping out a settlement to grab valuable resources or a strategic position.
Today marks a new day for the Jawas, as we set out to begin a new outpost.
Utinni!

There's not really anything for new workshops, just a "weapon shop". However, the rest of the game has numerous changes.
The differences between jawas and dwarves are:Jawas are a bit smaller and weaker and have no armor with less types of weapons. They also don't cave adapt or need alcohol. On the bright side, they can buy droids to work on their behalf. They can also use various monsters from Star Wars as pets, such as rancors.
The other races have all been changed as well. They are:
Spring:Settler, Clone, Ewok, Gungan, Naboo.
Summer:Battle droids, Vong, Geonosis.
Autumn:Jawa, Rebels, Jedi, Mandalorians, Wookiees.
Winter:Sith, Stormtroopers, First Order, Pirate.
All:Tuskens.
The animals are all different as well, although night creatures are still the same.
Metals and plants are the unaltered.
*I had hoped for more interest, but I'll go ahead and start. Maybe more people will join later. I updated the OP, and I'll start the fort tomorrow if I'm able.
I'm super in!
Also I would like to be a jawa.
Glad to have you aboard! I've already started the fort, any preferences for what your jawa should be like?
We have a female mason/miner, a female woodworker, a female mechanic/manager, a female fisherjawa, a male fishery worker, a male carpenter, a female ranger, a male weaponsmith, one male and one female bone carver, a female papermaker, a female fishery worker, a male farmer, and a male expedition leader.
The expedition leader is in a romantic relationship with the mason, the male bone carver is married to the fishery worker, and the ranger is married to the weaponsmith. The male bone carver has a pet dewback, the woodworker has a pet luggabeast, and the weaponsmith has a pet police droid. The droids have names, but I can't nickname them for dorfing purposes.
*Some immigrants arrived, so I edited the above.

We venture forth. There are in fact two Jawa clans on this world. One is the Thimbles of Phelgm, known for the peace and safety of their island home. Only pirates trouble them. We however are in the Cloister of Equity, and we hail from the mainland. Much of the surrounding desert has already been taken, but we have found a little river in the desert to call our own. Our surveying gear indicates very deep soil and shallow metals. There are signs of an aquifer, but we can get through it.
Many other peoples have trade in this region. The surrounding dunes are littered with habitation, but none of the settlements are Jawas. One can only hope they don't mind neighbors. Our full report has been compiled below.
I will take up the pick and do the first of the digging. With me are a mason, a fisherjawa, a woodcutter, an engineer, a cook, and our expedition leader, a farmer. We're bringing the standard array of supplies, with the addition of extra wood, seeds, and drink. For companions, we are bringing loth-cats (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Loth-cat), gizka (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gizka), vulptices (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vulptex), and an R2 droid. Our wagon was pulled by a dewback (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dewback)and a luggabeast (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Luggabeast).
Around us stretches our new home. A few enormous cacti and many hardy little plants coat the hill we have settled upon. At its foot lies the river, brimming with fish. A single dianoga (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dianoga/Legends) provides the only apparent danger, and it is a mild one.
Slate, 125
Our home is being dug. Some dangeous looking G0-T0 (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sentry_droid_Mark_I) droids have been floating by, but they don't seem inclined to attack us. I've requested that the mason start helping me with the digging. Mostly peaceful this month. The mason apparently fell in love with the expedition leader on the way here. Good for her. On a final note, I've ordered that our wagon be converted into the trading depot. It will continue to serve us well.
Felsite, 125.
Work continues. Many rooms are coming together well. I've noticed that while there's no violence on the land, the river fish slap each other constantly. The poor dianoga has been the only one to die. Got slapped in the brain.
Hematite, 125.
We have begun efforts to breach the aquifer. It will be difficult, but we will need the stone, water, and gems underneath soon. I'd also like to get more food. Fish are nice, but the smell's a bit of a problem.
Malachite, 125.
Still pumping out water. At least we won't die of thirst. On that note, we've begun the graveyard. Just in case this pumping project goes wrong. Some migrants arrived. There's a woodworker, a ranger, an administrator, a weaponsmith, two bone carvers, a papermaker, and a fishery worker. They brought along a police droid and a sifter droid.

I decided to find out who those nearby settlements are. Turns out we're right in between the First Order and the Geonosians. About a day's walk to the south is the Sith. At least there's some harmless settler communities to the north and a single outpost of Republic clone troopers to the east. We may have company someday soon.

My first impression of my new job today was "our social meeting hall is inside the place we bury our dead". How efficient!
At any rate, I was told that we were defended by a military-in-training. I find we are actually defended by a recently-traumatized unarmed mob and..... ahhhh, there's the bloody stairs. Going to seal that right up for now.
Our food supply seems secure and we have a massive amount of hematite, so next on the list is INDUSTRY and some kind of ARMORY. There are 70+ jawas in here twiddling their thumbs.
*turns towards camera*
Cmon, Murtaugh.
It's time to dole out new jobs. We need to make sure we have some masons, mechanics, jewelers, smiths and carpen-- what are you flipping out about, Murtaugh?
Having seen the results of out last "military" engagement, I've decided to set apart a place for people to bleed to death in peace. The others call it a "hospital". At any rate, a centralized industry area has been designated below the aquifer line. That way if someone ever plinks the wrong rock we can all d- for the most efficient mine-to-product ratio and ---- ahh, more migrants.
One of them is a talented doctor. The other jawas tell me this is one who professionally oversees the bleeding-out room. What luck. Also, some gungan royalty and a rebel marksman are visiting. In light of the recent cave-murderbeast problem, I have granted the petitions of three monster hunters for residency. I expect the Ewok spearman will lend considerable security to our home. One of them is also the Gungan Royalty. I'm sure it'll be fine.

20th Limestone, 127, Early Autumn
The caravan has arrived! While it has brought no rancors to speak of, they have brought all-important wood to stock our piles with. With the discovery of magma our needs have drastically been reduced. We also traded for some some other assorted items, such as barrels and buckets. I've sternly demanded pet rancors upon their return, as well as gypsum plaster to deal with the inevitable effects of local rancors.
With this in mind the last of our charcoal has been used to create the tools needed to forge in magma, and to arm our newly-filled-out military with our most powerful weapons: fusion cutters (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Fusioncutter). I've ordered them to train nonstop in learning how to kill sentient invaders with what is essentially a white-hot screwdriver.
The massive shaft to the burgeoning magma foundries is being expanded, and our food storage/production has also received a boost due to the production of rock pots. We've got a few dedicated fish cleaners, since when given the chance all our current fish cleaners prefer to fish rather than prepare the stuff.
Side note: I've tried to tell everyone that vegetables are part of a healthy jawa diet, but I can never understand their response as they have too much fish in their mouths. I am never one to discourage the catching and consumption of fish and their untrustworthy, conspiratorial flesh so we're just going to let that one go then.
Side note Deux: A minor miscalculation almost resulted in the entire magma-forge shaft being flooded with water. It was caught and patched very luckily, very quickly.
I accidentally canceled whatever standing manager orders were there, so sorry about that. We have some for cloth farming now.
Forges/Smelters/metal and ore stockpiles have been moved down to the magma sea. Until or unless we secure a good source of wood, that's the only way to make metal :\
Slate, 128
Another clone, a rebel axeman and a wookiee have joined us as beast hunters. Maybe I should open the caverns just so they can do that. The madness plague has now resulted in a fine granite table, for we have tamed it to our will.
I also realized at the last minute that I didn't get all the trader's animals last month, so before they could leave I bought the remaining Tuk'ata (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tuk%27ata) and Falumpaset (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Falumpaset) in exchange for the rest of our gems and a ridiculously heavy metal statue of Dunamisdeos getting fired.
I don't know why he was removed, but I promoted him back to captain of the guard. The sifter droid's growing depression caused it to throw a tantrum. It tried to start a fist fight, but then it remembered that it doesn't have hands. That's just tragic.
The tavern is done. I've had all the walls engraved as well.
Murtaugh? What? It's 6AM, what are... Oh, it's our turn for oversser again.
Ok this is fine. Let's just wake up, unpause and...
It's about 40 geonosians, and a bunch of war reeks (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Reek) and massifs (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Massiff).
Time to build some kind of ridiculous murder machine, then. Must be Primeday (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Primeday).
After realizing that we apparently have quite a few legendary fusion-cutterers who are also expert dodgers, and that Geonosians (which chrome really wants to auto-correct to "Georgians") are approximately the same size as a jawa but lacking any of their inborn ability to murder the piss out of things with a welding tool, I just parked our military in the trade room to pick off invaders as they sauntered by.
But we've already got a ridiculous murder machine all set up and ready to go up north.
WE NEED MORE, SIR.
Ok so, they sent a couple of war reeks ahead, and those were promptly chopped to pieces.
I looked away for a minute, and then came back to find that one of the war reeks has inexplicably caught fire right in the middle of the geonosian war host.
Right around half of the geonosians, though very few of the war animals, appear to have perished.
Ah, it looks like a wild flamethrower droid moseyed on by and decided to join the fun, thereby toasting half an invasion.
I'm going to build a statue to him and put him near the entrance to terrify future invaders.
I'll tell you hwat though, the incident did stop the geonosians from camping at the edge of the map, and they are now heading for the ridiculous deathtrap. I have my priorities straight, and decided to make some crude geonisian graphics. They came out like weird little ET's with wings.
Update:
This just keeps getting better. After a womp rat tore a geonisian to pieces, this guy shows up.
According to the wiki, they are also known as Kallidahin, and this is the race responsible for this much-beloved prequel line.
"Medically, she is completely healthy. For reasons we can't explain, we are losing her."
―A Kallidahin-owned GH-7 medical droid
(https://s13.postimg.org/5sktrnf53/06_jedi_rescuer.png)
The jawa militia sallied forth to assist him in his quest for justice and geonisian blood. Sadly, he perished in the fighting, and we lost one adequate cutter. The rest of us spanked the remaining geonosian army properly, killing them to the man (bug?). Even Rainbowdash took out a couple of Reeks.
Not so sadly, we now have a steel, silver-colored lightsaber to go around. It shall be awarded to the jawa that accrued the most geonosian kills. Wags received notable injuries, but nothing permanently debilitating or mortal. She is tied for the most, and also is named. Wags' lightsaber training begins now.
We conscripted a beast hunter with previous cutter skill to replenish our military numbers.
It looks like the last thing to happen today was some beasts (and a forgotten beast) snuck in through the caverns to cause some violent ruckus. It was dealt with by the J-team of super-cutter jawa badasses. Tosid, the slayer of the beast, named his cutter as a result.
Ok Murtaugh, so what we are going to do is build a giant blender.
*Murtaugh beeping frantically*
(https://s13.postimg.org/x2ysdph2v/08_more_siege_stormtroopers.png)
They must have heard me signing the "just send the Super Violence Welder Squad and forget about it" orders, because they immediately left. Must have been on their way to somewhere else.
Ok let's see, the blender should be dedicated to another mechanical engine of death.... we'll incorporate the statue of the unnamed flamethrower droid into it.
It only took a month and a half to haul up from the depths whence it was forged.
*Murtaugh beeping insistently*
What? A request for justice? What am I, the sheriff of... oh, right.
That perpetually-freaked out droid apparently broke something. I figure the worst that can happen is he gets beaten to death and stops wigging out constantly in the cancellation spam. That is also the best thing that can happen.
After eight months of hard labor, the GIANT BLENDERNATOR is nearly complete. Part grand entryway to the settlement, part puree-generating glory.
The activation lever for the bridge above is underground west of the main chamber, and clearly labeled. The traps are serrated blades, one per tile. In theory they will drop far enough to be stunned for about a second, which is enough time to get blent.
The more fantastical murder devices we have, the better. That's my philosophy, even in DF.
I don't know what to do with the rest of my turn, but Wags is getting really good with that lightsaber really fast.
It's good to know that the militia can learn so fast, becuase:
This time they are actually friends. I have ordered every single item of value in the fort brought up in order to try and nab some lightsabers, hopefully.
UPDATE: I am pleased to report that every trade good in our fort was worth enough lightsabers to outfit everyone but Tosid, the one with the named fusion cutter. He follows the old ways.
Some wookiees arrived immediately afterwards to trade. They will be sadly disappointed, since we have literally nothing to give them.
MORE UPDATE:
Actually, some Wookiees, some mandalorians, and the jawa caravan all just showed up. There are four trade caravans in our trade depot. Additionally, I've scrounged up some more stone goods to trade. The jawas brought EIGHT RANCORS and I will have breeding pairs of rancors even if I have to trade an artifact. We were able to secure a single breeding pair of Rancors.
At any rate Wags took six months to become a master swordsjawa. Quite the progidy. Also, here's where our breeding pair of rancors are bring kept. There must be a rancor pit eventually.
Finally, we traded for some bars of gold/platinum/sterling silver. Turned those into crafts for later trading. Final thing: the vong returned, but also immediately left. The siege tag remains. Are we in bug trouble? DF-Hack is activatable since i have the newb pack, is there a fix we can try if necessary?
