I found it on the map and I'm going all through the three squares where it says it is but I don't see anything other than wildlife.

dark fortresses, forest retreats and mountain homes have been removed for now and Toady is going to remake them in future

yes cause its not generated by the game

If you want dark fortresses and stuff, download 40d.
It has them all.

...but lacks most of the cool 31.?? features, such as bandit camps and lairs and fortresses. and caverns
