Title: Has it been a week yet?
Post by: Maldevious on March 27, 2010, 10:01:09 pm
What? It's been one day?!? Unacceptable. Is it possible that time has slowed somehow?

I've finally subscribed by RSS to the dev. log. I will not forget!

I haven't used the RSS yet, but I generally tend to check the Dev Log about 10 times a day. Seems to be about as effective.

This is how I feel, not to mention the chance that it might take longer than a week...

Do you have any idea how hard it is to set stuff on fire deliberately? Or to pump magma into our bakery?

In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.

or maybe throw them into the large hadron collider to atom-smash them instead.

Not to mention to throw all available animals into tiny pits.

Everybody take a break. Drink 20 gallons of whiskey and take a 2 week nap. You will be well rested, and DF 2010 will be out.

Raahleeese... I started playing like last month so the lack of update hadn't bothered me but now! Whaa~

That general time period is going to be awesome. Clash of the Titans comes out, I get a new TV, and (last but most) DF2010.

Will take a few more days for it to be playable, though, apparently.

I do that, but eventually the page gets cached, and when an update finally does come out I can't see it.

I have been doing my part by locking myself inside my house, so I cannot path anywhere.

But I really don't want to have to ruin my plans by calling my friends and saying "Hey, I can't make it to the movies, sorry. Urist just caught fire again.. Yeah, Urist! No it's not a game, it's Dwarf Fortress!... Hello?"

I bet he'll do a fake release Wednesday, then release it Thursday. On account of Wednesday being April 1. Although, he may fake us out and actually release it then, and somehow (probably through not sleeping at all for the next three days) release the Mac version on Thursday. Just because he could.

I'm so impatient! Blarg!

Of course, the moment he announces the release, thousands of people are going to be downloading it all at once. Watch the ivory server towers rock and sway...

So who's volunteering to NOT download it in the first 24 hours? (waiting for suckers...)

Because FileFront is an abomination before God? Seriously though...FF sucks. I'd rather see it on something like Depositfiles or SendSpace or Rapidshare than FileFront.

Let's also remember that his blog update stated that he was "on schedule" so it could mean we may see it on Friday.

But like everyone has said, don't hold your breath over it. It could be a day or two afterward.

Either way, the anticipation is driving me wild with the hunger to play the (buggy) new version.
