Toady needs to make it so we can disable gravity. When magma falls flow up is when you'll have your graphics!

Anyway, not liking ascii ≠ being too stupid to playing the game. I don't know where that came from.

I also don't know know why someone would think they're incapable of playing an ascii game but...whatever.

I dunno about you guys, but the ability to CHOOSE graphics over ascii doesn't seem like a sword to ascii's kneck.

Wait, I thought 'Full Graphics Support' just means extending the creature graphics system to cover everything.

If not for the current graphics support, I'd probably never have gotten into DF.  And even though I'm now capable of enjoying the game with bare ASCII, I can't wait for full tile graphics.

However, one of the top 10 entries has been made obsolete and will be removed, meaning that #11 will move into #10 and probably stay there.

It'll probably get Toady's consideration either way, since it's one of the older unimplemented Core items and is the kind of feature that's very likely (possibly more than any other) to draw in new players.

Multi-threading is not the magic bullet you're hoping for.  It's difficult to implement, especially retroactively, especially for someone with no experience, and the performance gains are likely to be unimpressive.

Graphics support will also not be a significant performance drag.  Rendering is no longer a bottleneck and graphical tiles won't ever take up much memory, especially with the new PNG support.

If anything, I want my priests, blessings, sacrifices and MAGIC.

Wizards are cool. Not the high fantasy ones, the ones like from the poem "The Wizard".

Rare, maybe one per fortress, and 2 priests and one high priest per fort. Random entry conditions, demands live creatures and gems. Engravings and paper(Once it's in).

I want a wizards' tower. Badly.

As of right now, magic is a post-v1.0 feature (except for artifact magic, which should come sooner).  It's much more sensible and realistic to ask that graphics be prioritized, since it's a v1.0 Core item.
