Title: The Aetherworld Prison v2
Post by: DontBanTheMan on September 10, 2015, 11:50:29 pm
Hello, and welcome to the Aetherworld Prison v2. If you are only just hearing of it, the original can be found here (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=138705.0). If you're already familiar with the game; welcome back!

I'll keep it short, sweet, and simple: if you were alive in the previous game, you may keep your character and its design but I'll need you to post a new sheet. All returning players and players who were on the waitlist are guaranteed to get in as long as they post before the game starts; this includes deceased players but not ones who failed to post and/or left mid-game. For any other players who'd like to play, feel free to post a character sheet: you will either join immediately (depending on the number of participants) or be added to the waitlist.

OOC chat is allowed on the main thread; please bold all your actions. Editing posts is allowed; please do this rather than posting your action twice. Game will begin when enough players have signed up.

PS: I've been trying to think of ways to speed up turns. When you post your sheet, please let me know whether you'd be alright with keeping track of your own character (and updating it each turn, posting it with your action) or would you rather I keep track of it. If you guys could do it, it would greatly speed up the rate of turns and make sure I can keep up, while also making sure your sheets are up-to-date. (BTW: if enough people agree to it, it will become a game requirement - keep that in mind!)

Do we have to use the sheets we originally put on the waitlist or can we make a new one?

You may make a new one.

This seems interesting. Might as well try to get in (despite what appears to be quite a long waitlist over in the other thread).
E: The intro of the previous game seems to imply that there is magic, if their is still magic, what stat (or stats) does it use?

E: Given how the other thread had people starting out as immortals and bronze collosi, I don't think my char is too overpowered.
And I have no problem upkeeping my own char sheet.

Don't worry; I'm sure some of the waitlist people got tired of waiting a year and gave up on ever playing. :p

There is indeed magic; it is still in the game. The stats it falls under depends on what method you use to cast.

Method 1: Study and practice. This is your typical Harry Potter, Warcraft, or D&D wizard. They memorize spells, may carry around spellbooks or spell components, and use their intelligence to cast. This method requires KNOWLEDGE to learn and memorize spells, DEXTERITY (for spells that require hand movements) and/or LOGIC (for spells that require intense thought and quick thinking) to cast, and causes fatigue (Constitution) or mental exhaustion (Wisdom).

Method 2: Innate Casting. Certain creatures can cast spells due to their race (see: IcyTea31's character in the original). This kind of casting is almost the same, though doesn't require the learning and/or memorizing of spells and may require different stats for the actual casting (depending on the type of creature). The third step is the same in all but the strangest cases.

PS: keep in mind that the magic system is highly dependent on the individual and method, and certain traits or races may change stats or the magic steps altogether.

This is my old character sheet, on the waitlist, but updated.
Name: Aadhaya Gupta
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 45
Crime: Murder
Preferred Stats: 1.IQ 2.Wit 3. Agility 4. Fitness
Starting Skills: +1 Physics, +1 Navigation
Bio: Aadhaya used to be a promising physicist, but when she found out one of her rivals was getting her ideas, she murdered them, to make sure she was the one to get the recognition. She was found out, and was sent to the Prison.
Traits/Flaws: Rotund- You have a larger figure, and this gives you a penalty to Speed. Outspoken- You tend to say you what's on your mind, giving a bonus to Perception, but a slight penalty to Charisma.
I'd rather you keep track of it for me, but it's fine if I need to.

Name: Rune
Race: Bronze Colossus
Gender: N/A
Age: Several thousand years
Crime: Destruction of DF 95, Destruction of an Aetherworld Prison.
Bio: After he destroyed the dome of the original Aetherworld Prison, Rune was hit with many large chunks of the dome. He became trapped, and separated from a good deal of his body. Over time, utilizing the self repair module, he repaired the pieces he found, and used a small GPS to locate the other pieces, which he accessed by reprocessing what parts of his body he did have into a wheel. Eventually, after regaining all of his limbs and various body parts (Minus a chunk of his torso he never located), he activated the self-repair module and went into somewhat of a hibernation mode, set to wake whenever all of his systems were re-functional. During the hibernation he became almost fully repaired, although the laser cannon had been heavily damaged and as it was not of his origin, he could not repair it to exactly the way it was: The laser cannon is no longer nearly as powerful as it once was.
Stats: 1 Fitness, 2 Agility, 3 IQ, 4 Wit.
Skills: Charging (For the laser Cannon), Hand-to-Hand combat
Traits/Flaws: Flaw: Due to the fact that the Bronze Colossus is inhuman and almost AI like, an IQ test must be taken whenever he will take an action that will unnecessarily put his life at risk, to see if he himself stops himself.

Title: Re: The Aetherworld Prison v2

Even despite the fact that it is not pure dragons, draconian creatures imply that young dragons are possible.
Title: Re: The Aetherworld Prison v2
Post by: lemon10 on September 12, 2015, 05:11:03 pm
Draconians being allowed does not imply that dragons are allowed, as they are entirely different, one is simply a humanoid with dragon characteristics, the other is a massive flying (possibly magical) creature that can breath flames.
Young dragons however does show that smallish dragons are allowed though, and since you do want a young dragon, it should be within reason.

The dragon's fine.

I'll start processing character sheets soon; whatever I put into the first post (meaning the first one in the thread) is the rough final draft (unless stated otherwise); if you want anything changed before the game starts, make sure to inform me. We'll probably be starting within the next week or so; try and have your sheet in by the 16th, people who have reserved. I figure I'll get everything finished between then and the 19th, but don't quote me on it. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Name: Blorn
Race: Yellow Slime
Gender: N/A.
Age: 2
Crime: Absorbing several small villages, attempting to absorb largely populated towns.
Bio:Blorn was created by a mad scientist, who, in the last days of his life, wished to create something he could call his offspring. So, he created Blorn, a slime, made of acid. Blorn, not having any special feelings toward his "father", decided he wasnt fed enough. After the digestion of flesh and bones, Blorn began to wander the wild. He ate anything and everything in his path, making him very large. At one point in his lifetime, he became large enough to engulf small houses, which he did with glee. Then, he ate villages. It was about this time that he was picked up by the Multiverse Officials. They managed to get his mass down to a more reasonable size, and then sent him to the Aetherworld prison...
Stats: 1. Fitness, 2. Wit, 3. Agility, 4. IQ
Skills: Absorbing things, shifting into a different shape.
Traits/Flaws: Being a slime, Blorn is fairly slow. He does leave a trail of acid wherever he goes though.

Yep; I kept it vague (notice there's no description for the race, unlike most others).

Am i still able to add another skill too?
Negatory; the "+1 Learning [all]" skill is a unique and extremely powerful skill; it constitutes multiple skills and will give you a bonus to all experience gains.

Turn 0

"ALERT. Dimensional Anchors 4C through 4F are in critical condition. Performing emergency recall. ALERT..."

The last thing you remember is rumbling, and huge chunks of steel cascading around your head. Looking around, you find yourself in a massive steel room with many other people - and things. A siren is blaring throughout the space, and shouting can be heard in the distance. Best find out what the hell is going on.

[ Alright. Everyone who has posted a sheet is now in the game. Post shortly (within a few days) of each turn; multiple actions may be performed, but if you don't have enough time I'll simply go in the order they were posted. Please bold your actions, and feel free to edit your action at any point up to the turn. OOC is permitted inside the thread; if it gets out of hand I'll say something - but make sure you only post ONE "action" post.

You are expected to update your character sheet and post it in Spoiler each turn (on your "action" post). Feel free to move things around or reorganize it, but make sure that all the information is the same. This also means that you are responsible for doing turn "upkeep" - if you get -2 hunger/turn, subtract it each turn.

Alright, all remaining space will be left for explanation and questions. If you ask any questions, I'll edit it into this space within a few hours:
EU: Energy Units. This represents electricity, magic, or other source of power for robots and magic beings.
Stats: Some people have better stats than others. This is because they were decided via weighted rolls; though a bit of balancing was done, randomness played a large role in it.
XP & Skills: Skill costs are given in the first post; I will award XP (in bold) for successful actions (that accomplish something) or clever use of skills. It's your responsibility to keep track of it.
Other: If you have any questions about racial traits, skills, spells, etc: simply ask.
Live Through Song: For simply conversing, difficulty is low - you should be able to "talk" on a 5 or higher (with the Singing and Charisma modifier means you have to roll like a 3).

((How much XP does it take to level up?))
Skills are gained through experience. The cost for a skill is 100 + (current skill level x 200). Trying to upgrade a skill to level one costs [100 + (0 x 200)] = 100 XP. To level two (from one) costs [100 + (1 x 200)] = 300 XP. To level three (from two) costs [100 + (2 x 200)] = 500 XP. So on and so forth. The XP cost must be from a related category; for example, you can upgrade Science with 100 XP from Knowledge or 100 XP from Mind, but not 100 XP from Body. Experience is rewarded whenever a player accomplishes something major or pulls off a difficult feat, and may either be general XP (100 XP: to character X, may be spent on any skill) or specific XP (100 Fitness XP: to character X, must be spent on Strength or Constitution skills).
Simple answer: the cost is 100 to get to Level 1, 300 to get from Level 1 to Level 2, 500 to get from Level 2 to Level 3, 700 to get from Level 3 to Level 4, and so on. The XP spent must be related to the skill.

((Considering that my upkeep is 10...Can I improve that?))
There may be ways to decrease your output; possibly absorbing M.Batteries, magical generation devices, or contracting the services of a mage. To your knowledge, however, your upkeep will only go up (as will your max EU) as you absorb more stuff.

Title: Re: The Aetherworld Prison v2

Turn 1

Are we still waiting on SaberToothTiger, or are you just going to run the turn without him?
[This answers that question]

Stay where I am sitting, but examine my surroundings in detail.

You examine your surroundings. PERCEPTION: [7 + 1(Wisdom)] = 8
The large metal room you are in seems to be some sort of hangar or launching bay; oddly enough, however, there are no doors or other large exits. A control tower overlooks the area, and storage crates are scattered around. Your attention is drawn by a familiar bronze colossus - best steer clear of that one. Many other people, robots, and anomalies are also present. One thing in particular that draws your attention is a large metal pole - no, large metal poles. Six of them can be seen, equally spaced, in the room.

Get the fugue out of the room and away from everyone else, in a direction nobody else is taking.
Prevent others from following the same route.
Take inventory.
Explore new surroundings.

You book it, running away from the center of the room (and hopefully everyone else). RUNNING: [2 - 2(Speed)] = 0
Very few steps are taken before your path is blocked by a pile of storage crates, forcing you to backtrack. You somehow manage to end up where you started, leaving you looking around for a way out. PERCEPTION: [3] = 3
There are large piles of crates in the room, as wel-is that a giant robot? (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=153037.msg6497707#msg6497707)

Scan the region around me for heat signatures. Seek targets to annihilate. Figuring out what is going on will be so much more pleasant when I'm soaked in blood.

You scan the surrounding area. SCAN: [8 - 1(OS damage) - 2(Wisdom)] = 5
Despite your OS' damage and poor perceptive abilities, you pick up a multitude of heat signatures; several in the metal room (which are in eyesight), and many outside of it. PERCEPTION: [6 - 2(Wisdom)] = 4
You see many small meatbags and non-meatbags around your feet. The closest is (roll) a strange collection of hovering objects; there is also a weird golem creature nearby.
[ BTW, don't forget about your Reactor Core's uranium upkeep - I advise bolding or coloring things you have to add/subtract each turn. ]

Look for any food and water, and try to hide, if there seems to be any attackers.

You look around for any food or water. LOOTING: [6 + 1(Wisdom)] = 7
Searching through a few nearby crates, you find that one's full of water bottles and another's filled with canned goods. You grab some supplies and jump inside a third crate which happens to be empty; as good a place to hide as any. New Section: Inventory. +3 Water Bottles [full], +4 Cans [beans].

Get out from the room. After that, search surroundings.

You search for a doorway or another exit. PERCEPTION: [3] = 3
Though you're unable to find one, you're fairly certain it won't be in the center of the room. You begin to run toward one of the walls. RUNNING: [9 - 1(Speed)] = 8
You reach one of the room's walls.

Examine surroundings.

You look around. PERCEPTION: [5] = 5
The room is large and made of metal. It is filled with crates and lifeforms, and you spot a few metal poles. You also see what appears to be a control tower in a corner.

Examine surroundings. Remember if I know any spells. Try to find something to hide behind.

You look around. PERCEPTION: [5] = 5
The room is large and made of metal. It is filled with crates and lifeforms, and you spot a few metal poles. You also see what appears to be a control tower in a corner.
Thinking back, you recall a few spells. KNOWLEDGE: [4 + 3(M.Knowledge [Death]) + 1(Knowledge)] = 8
You've memorized Raise Dead [2], Desecrate [2], Slow [1], and Rain of Death [4]. You also knew a few others, but didn't have them memorized.
While doing this, you take cover behind a nearby crate.

Search the area around me. If I see something organic that is non-threatening, like a small plant or something, move toward it to absorb it.

If I dont see anything like that, begin moving away from the nearest threat.

You look around for any small, organic beings. PERCEPTION: [9 + 2(Wisdom)] = 11
Within a few paces is a crate that's fallen over; it's packed full of flowers. You move to it and begin absorbing the organic material. +Size [Small; 30/100].

Scan area, slip into shadows if possible.

You look around. PERCEPTION: [3 - 1(Wisdom)] = 2
Seeing nothing of interest, you move into the shadow of a large metal pole nearby. The nature of your exterior plating renders you incredibly hard to see.

Turn 2

Search for an entrance to the control tower, maybe use a vent if no obvious entrances are found.

Also attempt to recall what spells I have.

You look for an entrance to the control tower. PERCEPTION: [7 + 1(Wisdom)] = 8
Spotting a door, you travel over to it and attempt to enter through it. Unfortunately, however, it is locked.

Trying to recall what spells you have, you check your compartment - and sure enough, your spellbook is still there! New Section: Inventory. +Spellbook

PERFORM: [2+2(Singing+Charisma)] = 4
"I ain't happy / I'm feeling glad / I've got sunshine / in a bag..."

Run in another direction, then retry actions:
Prevent others from following the same route.
Take inventory.
Explore new surroundings.

Hoping to find another route through the crates, you run in a different direction. NAVIGATION: [6] = 6, RUNNING: [4 - 2(Speed)] = 2.
You carefully make your way through the boxes, at last arriving in a space cleared of obstructions. Turning around, you try to knock a few crates into the way of the path. STRENGTH: [3 - 1(Strength)] = 2
...but are not strong enough to do so. You shrug and take inventory. LUCK: 2
Besides the clothes on your back, you have nothing of interest on your person.

Attack any meatsacks in range by kicking them, and pound my fists against the roof. Make sure not to hit the golem or hovering objects. Non-meat things might be valuable allies.

Go kill one of the non-sentient animals with rain of death, so I might find out what it does.
Death [4]

Rune decides to kick at a nearby meatsack, (roll) some guy cowering behind a crate. UNARMED: [3 + 1(Unarmed) - 1(Dexterity)] = 3 VS DODGE: [6 - 2(Speed) + 2(Size)] = 6
The kick misses Alejandrus by a few meters, but is close enough to scare the living shit out of him. He drops whatever he was doing and takes cover behind a different side of the crate.

Rune: You feel a strange sensation in your OS. WISDOM: [8 - 2(Wisdom)] = 6
The following image can be seen: "(/)*??*(/)" You are unsure where it is coming from or what its intentions are.

Continue hiding, and try to find a weapon, or something to make a weapon out of.

You continue hiding amongst the crates, and loot them to find a potential weapon. LOOTING: [1 + 1(Wisdom)] = CRIT FAIL
While leaning out of the crate to loot another one, your, ahem, weight knocks it over! REFLEX: [7] = 7
The crate drops a few feet, spilling its contents out. You tumble out atop a cascade of water bottles.

Look for anything.

You look around for anything of note. PERCEPTION: [10] = OVERSHOT
Seeing a door through which to escape the room, you run over to it. It slides open as you approach, revealing the four soldiers on the other side. Their weapons are aimed directly at you.

Examine nearby creatures for magical potential, if one is found offer it my eternal servitude.

You look around for any magical creatures. PERCEPTION: [9] = CRITICAL SUCCESS. +10 XP (Wisdom)
There's a guy who appeared to be casting a spell before being assaulted by a giant robot, a floating pile of debris, and a small robot holding a spellbook. Take your pick (answer takes place retroactively).

Begin moving toward another crate. Look for possible threats as well. If I can get to another crate, attempt to open it. Unless its wood, then absorb it.

You move toward another crate, which is a short distance away. It is made of... 7
...metal, so you try to access its contents. LOOTING: [5 + 2(Wisdom)] = 7
Throwing off the lid, you are met with a bunch of books.

Meanwhile, you look for possible threats. PERCEPTION: [4 + 2(Wisdom) - 1(Multitasking)] = 5
There's a giant bronze robot; that appears to be the only major threat.

Leave the area, stay in shadows if possible.

You begin to leave the area, keeping to the shadows as much as you are able. STEALTH: [1 + 2(Dexterity)] = CRIT FAIL
Moving behind a tower of crates, you accidently knock it over! It topples toward you... REFLEX: [9 + 1(Speed)] = CRIT SUCCESS. +20 XP (Speed)
...but you easily move out of the way and into another shadow. You are near the edge of the room now.

Investigate the vest and tome for problematic effects.  Absorb the battery.  Mana is life.
The Colossus feels a presence attempting to communicate.
(/)*??*(/)
Inspect the general surroundings as much as I don't already know.

Thing absorbs the battery. +50 EU Max, +200 EU.

Thing then investigates the vest and tome. M.Identify: [6 + 2(Knowledge) - 1(Difficulty) - 2(No Tools)] = 5
The vest appears to be (roll) a minor magic item; from what Thing can tell, it is ELEMENTAL and contains protective spells. The tome is a book containing Astral knowledge. Thing does not believe either item is cursed (Communication is player-based; feel free to converse between turns if you are able to figure out how).
Thing is too busy to investigate the surrounding area.

He puzzled over on how to communicate back. Ah, wait! He had the perfect idea! Rune began scraping his joints together noisily, rubbing the rough metal together creating a loud screeching noise. Turn 3

Read my spellbook enough to remember my spells, also rummage through my storage compartment for anything else I may have.

You flip through your spellbook, refreshing your memory on the spells inside. Spellbook: +[Hack(3, industry), Sparks(1, elemental), Craft Magic Weapon(4, industry)]
Inside your storage compartment, you find everything you had on you before the prison collapsed. The kinetic rifle was damaged during the commotion, however. +Wand, +Rifle (kinetic, broken).
(If I missed anything, feel free to simply add whatever it is I missed).

Make sure I'm out of sight. If not, reun further away.

If safe, open a few crates, looking for food and water.

Eat and drink my fill if possible.

Glancing around, you look for anyone who might see you. PERCEPTION: [9] = CRIT SUCCESS, LUCK: 6
Spotting no one, you are content with looting a few crates. LOOTING: 9 = 9, (roll).
One of the crates is filled with food and water, while another contains some apparel - including a rather snazzy tophat. You eat and drink your fill. -30 hunger, -45 thirst.

Rune decided to put this conversation on hold. Not enough blood had been spilled yet, not enough bodies pulped! He lashed out viciously at any nearby organisms with his feet and single hand, while firing a weak, uncharged laser at more distant foes.

Walk as away and actually play the game instead of being instantly killed by a golem.

Get out of the pile, and continue to look for a weapon, and try to stay away from others.

Rune Targets: (roll).

Aadhaya Perception: [9 + 1(wisdom)] = CRIT SUCCESS

Aadhaya Initiative: [5 - 2(speed) + 2(perception roll)] = 5
Ajanderus Initiative: [7 - 2(speed)] = 5
Rune Initiative: [4 - 1(speed)] = 3

Rune focuses on a few targets, lashing out at them as they flee. Aadhaya spots the giant robot targeting her with his laser cannon, and dives for cover. SPEED: [6 - 2(speed)] = 4
She manages to get behind a crate as Rune fires at her. LASER: [8 - 2(uncharged)] = 6, AIMING: [4 - 1(dexterity)] = 3
The shot hits the crate, causing minor damage but failing to hit its target. Rune: -50 EU

Meanwhile, Ajanderus flees from his aggressor... RUNNING: [1 - 2(speed)] = CRIT FAIL
...but trips after a few steps. Rune, hoping to crush his prey, attempts to kick the crate onto the hapless mage. STRENGTH: [9 + 3(strength)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Rune slams his foot into the crate, sending it sliding toward Ajanderus. REFLEX: [4 - 2(speed)] = 2
Ajanderus turns around just in time to receive the full force of the crate as it crashes into him. ENDURANCE: [8 - 1(toughness)] = 7
The crate pushes Ajanderus for several dozen meters before stopping, sending him sprawling. Though he suffered massive internal damage, he manages to stand up and start limping away. +Injury (internal, severe)

Dodge any attacks

Fortunately, none of the figures fire at you! Instead, one of them orders you to drop onto your knees; which you reluctantly do. Another starts walking toward you, holding a pair of handcuffs.

If I see rune trying to obliterate me, move away with as much speed as possible, preferably taking the shape of a horse.

If I'm not being targeted:

See if I can identify the books. If so, and some are spellbooks, attempt to read them. If not, absorb them all. Afterwards move toward the edge of the room.

The books (roll) aren't magical, so you devour them while observing Rune attempting to crush someone. +Size [Small; 50/100]

Fortunately, the lid comes right off. LOOTING: [8 - 1(wisdom)] = 7
The crate is filled with melee weapons; stun-blades, laser swords, knives. Another crate contains food and water, while yet another has a few massive SH-batteries in it.
Though you are at the edge of the room, you have yet to find an exit - there is no "next room" to examine.

Absorb both, then.

Thing absorbs the magic items. +Size [Small, 30/100], +0.5 M.Knowledge (Astral), +Spell [Wind Wall (3, elemental)]

Turn 4

( BTW, I'm human, and make errors. If you see any, let me know. )

Wave my wand at the unopened door of the control tower and cast Hack to unlock and open it.

Using the spellbook as a reference and the wand as an amplifier, you attempt to use the spell Hack on the control tower. KNOWLEDGE: [5 + 1(M.Knowledge/Industry) + 2(logic) - 3(difficulty)] = 5
Picturing the spell in your mind, you wave your wand in a jabbing motion. CASTING: [4 + 2(wand) + 1(M.Casting/Industry) + 1(dexterity) - 3(difficulty)] = 5
A few sparks emnate from the end of the wand, and within an instant you are inside the door's Control System. Following them in your mind, you arrive at the control panel and open the doors. +30 XP (IQ)

( PS: change your +1 Technomancy to +1 Magic (Industry); also don't forget to add your spells to your spellbook, found on the previous turn. )

Wear tophat. Store a can of food in it.

PERFORM: [10+2(Singing+Charisma)] = 12(, critical success?)
"This tophat makes me dapper and practical
And it gives me an advantage tactical
It conceals a tool
To surprise a fool
I wonder if it's somehow magical?"

Look for a safe way out of this place.

As you put on the tophat, you suddenly feel more energized [F: -1/turn]. +1 Can (food).
Searching around... PERCEPTION: [1] = CRIT FAIL
...you see an open door, and head over to it. It's only after you arrive that you realize that an arrest is going down, and the soldiers have spotted you! There are four men who have just handcuffed what appears to be another prisoner, and as you reach the scene they turn their weapons on you. "Down on the ground!"

( PS, +40 XP (Wisdom) from last round's lucky-ass rolls. )

Rune decided that his rapidly worsening power situation was a problem. He searched around for spare components or parts, something to repair himself with. If he fails to see anything he starts kicking the floor and ceiling, hoping to use mechanisms found within them to repair himself. Rune also communicated once again over his OS to the Thing, displaying his incredibly low power levels and then several thousand sad faces, each sadder than the next.

You look around for any components with which to repair yourself. PERCEPTION: [7 - 2(wisdom) - 1(size)] = 4
The crate next to the one you slammed into the meatsack tipped over in the confusion, and some steel rods can be seen inside. You do not possess the expertise to repair  yourself, however, and your Operating System is too heavily damaged to conduct advanced self-repair protocols with foreign entities (non-Rune materials = unworkable atm). You meanwhile communicate with the Thing.

( Also gain +30 XP (Strength) from last round's action. )

Try to find an effective route to get away, and if safe, drink a bottle of water, and find something to open a can with.

You look around for an escape route. PERCEPTION: [4 + 1(wisdom)] = 5
Seeing a way through the crates, you book it away from the bloodthirsty robot and arrive near the edge of the room, behind a large metal pole. You drink the bottle of water, and eat the can of food (whose lid you realize can be peeled off easily, similar to a can of cat food). -10 hunger, -15 thirst

Do nothing

You sit still as the approaching soldier cuffs your hands behind your back; suddenly, the soldiers turn their weapons at something outside your vision - a potential ally, perhaps?

( PS; don't forget to post your sheet and perform calculations! )

Use rain of death on the golem.

Coughing up a few drops of blood, you turn on the golem and attempt to cast Rain of Death on it. KNOWLEDGE: [2 + 1(knowledge) + 3(M.Knowledge/Death) - 4(difficulty) - 2(pain)] = 0
A bout of painful coughing interrupts the image in your mind, as you fall to your knees. Your vision grows a bit blurry, but you manage to get to your feet once again.

( don't forget to add a STATUS: category, with your injury as a status effect.

Get the heck away. Go to somewhere of interest that is far, far away from that robot.

You move in the opposite direction of the robot; anywhere is better than near that crazy machine. LUCK: 7
You come across a robot who's waving a wand; probably casting a spell of some sort. A second later, the door he is standing in front of slides open. He is not yet aware of your presence.

Check inventory, try to find way out.

You check your inventory. LUCK: 3
Though you had your favorite pistol on you when the authorities brought you in, the bastards confiscated it from you. You search for a way out. PERCEPTION: [1 - 1(wisdom)] = CRIT FAIL
...Seeing an open door, you head towards it. Too late you realize, however, that four soldiers are guarding it; one of them levels his weapon at you. They were in the middle of arresting someone, while another guy has also just had a weapon leveled at him. You also see a floating pile of debris to your left.

Thing will advance on the guard post a bit.  If he's fired on, he will shoot back.

( I assume by guard post you mean the doorway with four guards stationed at it. )
Thing floats toward the doorway; Thing stops a few meters away when Thing is spotted by one of the soldiers, who turns his weapon toward Thing. Thing sees a few non-guard humanoids in the area, one of which is in the middle of being arrested.

Rune realized he could not repair himself. However, he had trouble communicating with everything. Everything except the Thing.... and it seemed the Thing was rather pre-occupied. Rune decided to change that and make him the object of the Thing's attention again. He charged up his laser a tiny bit before releasing the beam and quickly dragging it across all of the guards. While Rune was doing this, he communicated to the Thing over his OS the message that he was damaged and unable to repair himself but had located parts which might be useful, if the thing was interested. Followed by a million happy faces and cute kitten videos.

He takes on the semblance of the robot; his interior is obviously just slime, and some of the more intricate features are missing, but it looks like the robot somewhat.

As Erizen's about to head into the control tower, a sound emanates from behind him; he turns around to see himself, except slightly larger and all yellow and slimy. DIPLOMACY: [7] = 7
The Slime makes some gestures which Erizen takes as peaceful; an akward moment is shared before Blorn slides past him into the control tower. Erizen follows behind.

Erizen Perception: [2 + 1(wisdom)] = 3
Blorn Perception: [10 + 2(wisdom)] = OVERSHOT

Blorn glances around as he enters, and sees a grizzled man wielding a knife, who jumps at him. REFLEX: [2 + 1(speed) - 1(unfamiliar form)] = 2
The man stabs into the thick goo forming Blorn's head. STRENGTH: [1] = CRIT FAIL
The knife simply slips into the slime, and while Blorn cannot yet absorb it, it is merely suspended harmlessly in his body.
Erizen watches as the man fails to attack Blorn.

Rune was in bliss. Mass murder! Hooray! The sizzling death of little humans! He then re-played the entire thing in his mind, and frowned. As much as a metal-machine could frown, of course. He had hit something he hadn't meant to... Rune peered over at the thing who was trying to hide behind cover.

Woops.

On his OS, he played a million clips of people accidentally hurting other people then apologizing. He did his best not to laugh gleefully at the whole hurting other people part but failed. He then displayed an image of roses on his OS, then an image of the Thing, then all of the roses sailing towards the thing. Then he began getting carried away, flinging boxes of chocolates, heart shaped things, and the occasional laser beam. He then displayed a computer generated animation that he had instantly created of the thing repairing Rune with the parts, and Rune NOT shooting the Thing, then a million smiling faces and the occasional kitten falling off a building.

While Rune apologizes to the Thing, he looks around for more spare parts. Is it possible the humans brought any spare parts with them? Anything on them he can re-use? If he finds nothing or his progress is impeded by the humans, he just kicks their teeth in.

Turn 6

Attempt to set the mystery assailant's clothes on fire by casting Sparks on them.

Break the shapshift, and fling myself at the man! Engulf him in my acidic body! Absorb!

If I manage to do this, eject the knife, offering it to Erizen

Erizen Initiative: [6] = 6
Blorn Initiative: [1 + 1(speed)] = 2
Man Initiative: [2] = 2

Erizen attempts to cast Sparks on the man's clothes. KNOWLEDGE: [10 + 1(M.Knowledge/Industry) + 1(Knowledge) - 1(difficulty)] = OVERSHOT; CASTING: [2 + 1(Dexterity) + 2(Previous Roll) + 2(wand) - 1(difficulty)] = 6
Without even glancing at his spellbook, Erizen instinctively waves his wand and sends a wave of flames at the man's clothing. He may have overdid it a bit, though... AIM: [4 + 1(wisdom) + 1(roll)] = 6 VS REFLEX: [9 - 1(distracted) - 3(difficulty)] = 5
A wave of fire washes through the room, burning the man as he dives out of the way. FORTITUDE: [9] = CRIT SUCCESS
Unfazed, he pats out his clothing and books it for the door.

Hungry for a meal, Blorn eagerly pursues him after letting his slime fall into its normal, blobby self. PURSUIT: [10 + 1(speed)] = OVERSHOT VS FLEEING: [4] = 4
Blorn reaches the man and crashes into him. GRAPPLING: [2 + 2(previous roll) + 1(strength)] = 5 VS ESCAPE: [2 + 1(dexterity)] = 3
Unable to free himself, the man is trapped underneath Blorn's crushing weight as the slime absorbs him. ABSORB: [2 + 1(absorption) - 1(dexterity)] = 2
The man's screams in pain as his skin starts to be melted off, his flesh stripping away to be sucked in by the ever-hungering slime sitting atop him. Blorn savors the process while turning to Erizen and ejecting the knife, propelling it to the ground at Erizen's feet (Man: 10% absorbed).

Capotti away from the colossus murdering everyone, preferably in a direction yet unvisited.

You dance away from the colossus, heading through the door the soldiers were presumably guarding. DANCE: [6 + 1(dance) + 1(dexterity)] = 8
Making your way into the room, you take note of your new surroundings. PERCEPTION: [8] = 8
You are now in a corridor branching off into two directions. Screaming can be heard from the left, so you decide to head right down the whitewashed hallway. Further down you see a few doors built into the walls.

While Rune apologizes to the Thing, he looks around for more spare parts. Is it possible the humans brought any spare parts with them? Anything on them he can re-use? If he finds nothing or his progress is impeded by the humans, he just kicks their teeth in.

You look around for more spare parts. PERCEPTION: [3 - 2(wisdom)] = 1
Seeing nothing, you grow angry and stomp around, hoping to find any unfortunate humans. LUCK: 2
Luckily for them, you are unable to locate any meatsacks to obliterate. You are enraged - how dare they hide from you!

Break out of the trance, and try to find a way out.

The song stops, allowing you to shake free of the spell and search for a way out. Fortunately, there's one right there! You head through the open doorway. PERCEPTION: [10 + 1(wisdom)] = OVERSHOT
You arrive in a whitewashed hallway with two branching paths, and try to figure out which way to go. To the left, you hear screaming. To the right, there's the guy who put you into that trance. And behind you, there's a bunch of dazed/dead guardsmen, bloodthirsty prisoners, and insane robots. This leaves you poised in indecision.

Try to find people. Or other life in general.

You attempt to find other lifeforms. PERCEPTION: [9 - 1(wisdom)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Seeing a few (presumably) humans heading through a door, you scurry over, keeping low and out of Rune's (oblivious) sight. When you arrive, you see a few incapacitated/dead guards, a human sitting on his knees with his hands cuffed behind him, and the doorway through which the two humans just went through.

Go back to the crates I knocked over and check if I am compatible with the SH batteries. If I am, take some time to recharge. Store some knives and grab a stunblade.

Unfortunately, you are not compatible with the SH batteries: they are far too large to fit into your power control system's battery slots. You figure the giant robot might run on them, though; you could also try to find/rig together an adapter with which to plug them directly into your Power Control, but you don't really want to risk damaging your critical systems. You resign yourself to grabbing a few knives and a stunblade. (New Category) Secret Compartment: [+3 Knives, +1 Stunblade]

Thing will attempt to repair the wand once it has stabilized, and duck into cover till then.  Cautiously duck into cover.

You duck into cover and wait a few moments as agony washes over you. The pain subsides into manageable (though still incredibly painful) levels a few seconds later, allowing you to communicate with Rune and attempt to repair the wand. REPAIR: [4 + 1(logic) - 1(difficulty) - 1(lack of materials) - 1(lack of tools)] = 2
Without any tools, spells, knowledge, or materials with which to repair the wand, you're unable to fix it. You keep the two halves in case this changes in the future.

[ If you haven't posted in awhile/ever, this is your last chance before you're officially dropped from the game. Let me know if I missed anything/didn't reward XP for something you feel you deserved it for. ]

Now use the stairs or elevator of the building to get to the top of the control tower. If there is an elevator that won't work for me, manually hack it.

You move up the stairs to the top of the control tower, seeing no elevator with which to use. Upon arriving at the top, you see... PERCEPTION: [6 + 1(wisdom)] = 7; LUCK: 3; HOSTILITY: 10
...a torrent of bullets launched from a handful of rifles. There's even a damn laser gun! REFLEX: [7 - 3(difficulty)] = 4
A bullet hits you square in the chest but you manage to duck beneath the ledge of the room as lead hits the wall behind where you were just standing. ENDURANCE: [9 - 1(toughness)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Your OS quickly assesses the damage, but it's largely superficial. The bullet entered in the front, traveled through an empty compartment, and then exited out the other side. Fortunate.

Follow Aadhaya Gupta, in a decidedly nonaggressive fashion.

Run down the hallway to the right, and take out my laser rifle and shoot anybody who tries to attack me.

Aadhaya runs down the hallway, keeping her rifle readied in case hostilities break out. Heldentenor follows behind.

Spoiler: Crude Map (click to show/hide)

Furious, Rune began charging around furiously attacking any and all humans.

You charge around attacking any humans you can find. PERCEPTION: [3 - 2(wisdom)] = 1; LUCK: 2
Despite yours furious efforts, the stomping around accomplishes little more than perhaps frightening any humans within earshot.

Absorb Absorb ABSORB!

As you absorb the hapless man's skin and flesh, he struggles to escape. STRENGTH: [1 - 1(injury)] = CRIT FAIL
He pushes onto your mass; he does little more than speed the process, however, as his hands enter your mass and are quickly melted away. He screams in agony. ABSORB: [9 + 1(absorption) + 1(previous roll) - 1(dexterity)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Within thirty seconds, his softer matter has been completely absorbed into your mass. You leave his bones, being a pain in the ass to liquefy. +Size [Medium; 0/100]

Check for unopened crates. If there are none then go back to the area I encountered guards.

You glance around for any unlooted crates. PERCEPTION: [6 - 1(wisdom)] = 5
As luck would have it, you're standing next to one. You quickly loot it for valuables. LOOTING: [10 - 1(wisdom)] = OVERSHOT
Hooooly shit, did you ever hit the mother lode. A treasure trove of components useful for robotics manufacturing, some power cells (a few of which are SC-4), some explosives, and sealed radioactive material. As you eagerly dig around for more goodies, you accidentally start the timer on one of the time bombs; which wouldn't exactly be a problem, but you don't know which one it is, and for all you know it could be buried beneath everything else. You don't even know how long it's set for! Better figure out quick, though; having this mess go off in your face would not be beneficial to your well-being.

Continue hiding away from Rune, investigate current location but keep an eye out for Rune at all times.

You continue hiding away in your little nook; glancing around, you see a few looted crates (you spot some food and water) and the unconscious/dead bodies of the guards. One of them seems to be getting up, though. You turn back to rune, keeping an eye on him - he appears to be stomping around angrily.

Turn 8

[ Alright, so I've narrowed the player list to our actual players, and to be honest I'm kind of glad with what we've got. All of you have proven to post regularly (or atleast attempt to post regularly, <3 yourmaster) and the small number of players (eight) allow me to update far more frequently (with the addition of you guys keeping track of your own character sheets) than the mess that was the last Aetherworld Prison. I think even if other people want to join, I'm going to keep the number at eight - so unless people start dying off or leaving, the people we have here are what we're sticking with.

I pledge to post optimally one but at the very least no more than two days after the last person submits their turn; if someone doesn't do so three days within the last turn (without informing me ahead of time), they'll get a slap on the wrist and I'll post the turn without them. It's fine if you can't or don't want to post once or twice - just let me know so we're not all waiting on you! Thanks, everyone. ]

Poke my head out briefly to get a good view of the room's contents and the attackers.

You quickly lift your head once the firing stops to get a look at the room housing your assailants. SPEED: [1] = CRIT FAIL; PERCEPTION: [8 + 1(wisdom)] = 9
You take a good long look around the room, giving the gunmen plenty of time to fire upon your exposed body part. FIREARMS: [8; 9; 8; 6]; DODGE: [6 - 2(previous roll)] = 4
Nearly every bullet hits you in the noggin, sending you crashing down the stairs. ENDURANCE: [2 - 1(toughness)] = 1

CRITICAL DAMAGE SUSTAINED. SLEEP MODE ACTIVATED. SELF-REPAIR SEQUENCE INITIATED. ASSESSING DAMAGE...

You are now in sleep mode, and are unable to control or use your exterior (this includes your senses). Your OS has switched over to emergency protocol, switching primary focus from the outside to the inside; you are currently in control of your Operating System (any actions made should be as the OS until Sleep Mode is deactivated. Sleep Mode could be overriden if you wish, though it was activated for a reason - and it is highly advised that you not do so).

Kick the northwestern door open. (If this fails, just try the handle.) Look inside the room, hoping there's nothing particularly dangerous in there. If there is something that seems sapient, immediately turn up the music.

((Tip: use the [code) tag when making ASCII art, such as maps.))

Help Heldentenor, and use my rifle in case there are enemies.

(( Thanks for the tip! Art, even minimalist ASCII art, is not really my norm. ))

Heldentenor attempts to dramatically kick the door down! STRENGTH: [9 - 1(strength) + 1(magic/drama)] = CRIT SUCCESS (PS: Change Magic/Dance to Magic/Drama).
The door is bashed inward like in every cop show ever! Some beats emanate from you as you roll into the room. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRfnWpV4i7E) You find... LUCK: 5; HOSTILITY: 8
...what appears to be a soldier and a doctor standing in a sterilized medical room. The soldier's taken cover behind a bed, while the doctor is taking a swig from a flask whilst staring at the wall. The soldier seems ready to shoot, but looks confused when he hears the music, "Is that a...boombox?" (BTW, the music stopped when you moved out of the area; it tends to do that after a couple turns).

Aadhaya follows you into the room, and readies her gun in a nonthreatening manner.

Break all the things. Full on rage mode. BLAAARGH

DESTROY! EXTERMI- err i mean DESTROY! SENSELESS VIOLENCE: [7 + 2(size) + 3(strength) + 1(reckless)] = 13
You punch everything within sight, sending crates flying and crushing others into debris. LUCK: 1... (sorry fish)
You kick a crate that, unknown to you, Thing is hiding behind. PERCEPTION: [10 + 1(wisdom)] = OVERSHOT; REFLEX: [10] = OVERSHOT
Thing manages to get out of the way as you kick the crate into the opposite wall, demolishing it. You roar into the air and pant a bit, gladdened by the destruction (note: you did not see that you almost killed Thing).

Loot the area around.

You loot the surrounding area. LOOTING: [3 - 1(wisdom)] = 2
As you walk over to a crate, you see a small debris pile that glows octarine. It flees from the area, and as it does so you see why: Rune completely demolishes the crate, sending it flying over your head. You decide it's best not to stick around, and head through the large door you saw people going through earlier. It opens into a hallway that leads to the left and the right; to the left you hear gunfire and to the right you hear some music (see IcyTea31's turn, click on the link for the song). You grasp your chest in pain; the injury's really starting to get to you, you should see what you can do about patching it up.

Awesome! Now explore this building. If I wander upstairs, and I notice the hostiles, rush into the room, propel the skelleton in my body at the enemies and.... ABSORB!

With that delicious organic material absorbed, you explore the building. EXPLORATION: [5 + 2(wisdom)] = 7
There doesn't appear to be anything to absorb down here, but as you're looking around you hear gunfire from above followed by the robot crashing down the stairs. Could be some tasty humans; you start to head upstairs to find out (you are nearly at the top).

Remove as many timebombs as possible, quickly checking each for an indication of its activity.Look for an easy disarm. If i find the active one and there is no disarm feature, defuse it manually.
Power Control: 240 EU max. Currently 95 EU, -5 EU/turn.

You hastily start removing timebombs, checking each one for a timer. DEXTERITY: [7 + 2(dexterity)] = 9; LUCK: 9
After pulling a couple of the bombs out, you find one with an active timer displaying 0:37. KNOWLEDGE: [1] = CRIT FAIL; LUCK: 3
You're unfamiliar with this model, and it doesn't appear to be an easy way of disarming it. You attempt to defuse it manually. LOGIC: [4 + 1(Logic)] = 5
You frantically work, attempting to stop the damned thing before it blows up in your face. You manage to do so by the time it hits 0:08, but unfortunately rendered the thing useless in the process. Oh well, atleast you're not a piece of scrap metal. As this is going on, you hear Rune going on a rampage...probably best to figure something out regarding that loose cannon.

Get out of Rune's way.  And anyone else's.

You start to move out of cover, glancing around for anyone who might endanger you. As you look back at Rune, you see him charging toward the crate you're still behind! PERCEPTION: [10 + 1(wisdom)] = OVERSHOT; REFLEX: [10] = OVERSHOT
You dive out of the way, losing the broken wand in your haste...just in time too, as Rune launches the crate past where you just were and into the opposing wall. You seethe with anger; that bastard tried to kill you!

Turn 9

[ bit busy atm, I'll do XP next turn ]

Focus on using 5 Energy Units to help speed along the Self-repair systems.

You expend additional Energy Units to assist in the self-repair process. LOGIC: [3 + 2(logic) + 2(extra energy)] = 7
Your data processing chip took a direct hit, and several important systems were disabled. Utilizing emergency repair systems, nanobots are released into your body, repairing the most critical of the damage. Your senses come back online, but movement control is crippled at about forty percent and you've run out of nanobots (movement is possible, but extremely reduced: particularly combat and quick movements, which makes the more difficult spells near impossible).  Operating system is working at seventy percent.

Communicate through hip hop: (Not going to roll this one myself.)

"Now don't'chu worry, I mean no harm
Merely explorin' as I run from alarm
Put the gun down and get up on your feet
Let's be homies and dance (not shoot) to the beat."

(instrumental bridge, dance)

"Mad chemistry, your lab's all For Science

(instrumental bridge, dance)

"Mutagenic serums or whatev's, lots of fun
But ya need to make sure the Science gets done
Let me break it down, turn it up, a while here stay
What'cha put in that weird flask of yours, anyway?"

Try to sing backing vocals.

You start a musical number, laying down a beat with a bit o' magic. BEAT: [9 + 1(magic/drama)] = CRIT SUCCESS
An overwhelming beat emanates, and you immediately get down with it. SINGING: [4 + 1(charisma) + 1(singing) + 1(beat)] = 7; DANCING: [2 + 1(dexterity) + 1(dancing)] = 4; VOCALS: [2] = 2
The scientist turns to you, and the figures stare at you in confusion. Your singing isn't too bad, but Aadhaya's shrill voice pierces it unpleasantly. The dancing...could also use some work. In any case, no one shoots at anyone. The soldier is scratching his head, while the scientist actually responds to your query, "Scotch."

Rune's eyes immediately fixed on the entity holding the battery. He stopped smashing things, and places his legs firmly back on the ground. Walk right over to Wraith so that I practically tower over him, then gently display my hand to him. Rune pointed at his mouth, then made a shaking gesture with his head. He can not verbally communicate.

Wraith gives Rune the batteries, and checks if any of the components would help him as well.

Wraith leads Rune to the crate containing the SH-batteries, and gestures to them. Rune proceeds to insert them, one at a time, into his power control. A surge of energy rushes into him (+2000 EU). [ PS: You should've been getting -60 EU/turn because you opted not to use uranium; please subtract -360 EU and change your power upkeep ]
As for whether any of the components would help Rune, Wraith has absolutely no clue. He is unfamiliar with this model of robot and how it's made.

Go to the right.

You head down the hallway to the right, and seeing an open door peer into it. A couple of people are rapping to a couple of other people; the music's not too bad, actually - except for the woman's singing. There are more doors along the wall, with the hallway branching off to the left and right further on. The room the people are in appears to be a medical room of some sort, with one of the people being sung to wearing a lab coat.

Oooh, there's food up there. Go up and propel the skeleton at the bad guys. Then grab one of them, and drag him downstairs to absorb him...

You head upstairs, propelling the skeleton at a group of guys that come into vision as your head surfaces above the ledge. DISTRACTION: [8] = 8
They are distracted by the corpse that was just flung at them, and only one of them manages to get a shot off at you. [9] = 9 VS DODGE: [8 + 1(speed)] = 9
You duck beneath the bullet and reach one of the soldiers, attempting to grab him. GRAB: [10 + 1(strength)] = OVERSHOT vs EVASION: [9] = CRIT SUCCESS
The man barely manages to dive out of way, but not fast enough...you crash into his arm, grabbing on tight. Unfortunately for you, you were moving too quickly and can't stop yourself from moving - you hit the control room's window at full force, shattering it and falling toward the ground. The man's arm is the only thing keeping you from falling, as you hold on for dear life. He screams painfully.

Jump to Rune's head and take the colossus over briefly, scanning his memory rather abruptly before flying up and outwards.  Locate a new area once safely out of range.

You hover up to Rune's head, but are unable to take over or scan the non-magical entity's memories; there seems to be some sort of interference. You then fly up, perching on the roof of the room's control tower. There doesn't appear to be another "area", but you see the same door you saw earlier near the ground. You also hear a crashing noise just below you, as a large slimy creature dangles out of the control tower.

Turn 10

Stealthily search the room at the top of the stairs as the attackers are distracted by the blob.

Try to get back up there, but hold onto the man. Hopefully he'll try to pull his arm out, and he'll pull me with it. If I manage to get back up, get that man into my... erm... blob...? Anyway, then absorb!

Erizen Initiative: [5  - 2(damage) - 1(distance)] = 2
Blorn Initiative: [7 + 1(speed)] = 8
Soldiers Initiative: [2] [5] [10]
Unfortunate Soldier: [8]

The soldiers scramble over to the side of the control tower, peering over the ledge at Blorn. One of them fires his weapon at the creature. [4] = 4
One bullet lands in Glom's lower body, but it passes right through. The rest of them go wide by a few few feet. The soldier you're holding onto attempts to... [4]
Clutch at his arm and attempt to heave it up. There is simply too much weight hanging off it, however. Glom tries to get a little higher up the man's arm, but holds on tight. CLIMB: [8 + 1(strength) - 1(dexterity) + 1(sticky)] = 9
You drag yourself up to the window, before heaving yourself over into a heap. The other soldiers react by firing at you! [5][4][1] VS [9 - 2(distance) - 1(unsteady) + 1(speed)] = 7
Within the flash of an eye, Glom lays himself flat on the ground, ducking beneath the bullets. Most of them go wide of their target, and one actually lodges itself in the wounded soldier! ENDURANCE: [2] = 2
He cries out in pain, and recoiling from the blow falls out the window.

Meanwhile, Erizen slowly makes his way up to the room and starts searching it for valuables; fortunately, the soldiers are all looking out the control room's shattered window. LOOTING: [9 + 1(wisdom)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Eh, doesn't appear to be much...just some control pan-wait a second. Is that what you think it is? Spotting a half-open supply cabinet, you heave a dusty old cleaning robot out - it's your model! There's also some discarded robotics pieces, all of your model - seems like they had to cannibalize two broken robots to piece together a working one. If this one's even functioning.

Make the peace sign.

Awkward silence.

...
An akward silence ensues, with both parties staring at each other. Aadhaya interrupts it with the peace sign, and the doctor takes a swig of his booze. The soldier scratches his head but lowers his weapon, "Listen, you two don't seem...to be all that bad. Weird as hell, but not that bad. Just take what you want, we gotta get out of here." He motions to the doctor, who rolls his eyes and follows him. They head toward the door.

Walk away. To the left, I guess.

You walk away from the party and head down the hallway, taking the branch to the left. LUCK: ([4] [10])
Three laser rifles and a bolt cannon attached to a combat droid meet you. They are lined up in the middle of the hallway, and all level their weapons at you. The one in front shouts, "Freeze! Hands in the air!"

Help the collosus pick up whatever parts he seems to want.
Power Control: 240 EU max. Currently 85 EU, -5 EU/turn.

Examine the parts that the creature in front of me has, and see if any of them are useful. If not, then firmly squish him into the ground, stand up, and walk away. If he has parts of use to me, then gratefully accept the parts and begin self-repair.

RUNE: Ohhhh boy, are there ever some goodies he offers you! Uranium Fuel Cells (+40 units), metal and robotics pieces (unfortunately not usable by you in your current state; you'll need to repair your OS first), and a packet of emergency nanobots - useful for quick repairs (they don't repair too much though; certainly not your entire OS). There's also a pile of explosives which you (if your OS was repaired) or another being could jury rig onto you, similar to the deal with the laser cannon. You grab the uranium and nanobots straight up (+1 emergency nanobot repair), and dig around a bit in the rest of the offerings. The robot helps you pick whatever you want out of the pile, and is generally a help. With the nanonots in storage, you activate the emergency repair package to your OS, allowing your normal self-repair system to take over (+10% OS integrity, +3%/turn).

WRAITH: You offer your pile of goodies to the colossus, from which he grabs the uranium and a packet of nanobots. Would've been useful to you, but you figure it's probably better to be on this thing's good side right now. You also show it the various explosives and supplies; it doesn't annihilate you, so that's probably a good sign (+XP; see bottom).

Thing just stays perched on the roof for a bit, looking for anything interesting.

From this perch, you can easily see the colossus - it's interacting with what appears to be a robot, grabbing a few things out of a pile of loot. Below you, you can see the slimey creature heave itself into the control tower, before a torrent of gunshots and the soldier who was dangling his arm out of the window previously falling out and to the metal tile before. His body makes a sickening sound upon impact; it's doubtful he survived.

Turn 11

Look around, see what there is to take, and look for something to carry any loot found in.

Eat one of the cans, and drink one of the bottles. Then, start looting the room, after they have left.

The two of you start to loot the room after the two men leave; Gupta takes the respite to eat and drink. LOOTING: [4(6)] [7(10)]
Heldentenor doesn't find much; just a few capsules of medicine in the cabinets. Though thankfully, there was also a purse in which they could be shoved. Aadhaya, on the other hand, finds a Surgical Operation Machine (SOM), a portable automated robot which is capable of suturing wounds, removing debris from injuries, and conducting emergency surgery. It also comes equipped with a basic diagnostics' scanner. She also finds some disinfectant, a first aid kit, and an Emergency Foam gun (fires out a line of rapidly expanding medical foam with which to seal injuries quickly).

Float down to the loot pile.  See if there's anything I'm interested in,  but don't take anything just yet.

You float down to the loot pile, drawing the attention of both Rune and the unidentified robot. Sifting around the loot pile, you see mostly metallic and non-magical objects. SENSE MAGIC: [7 + 3(modifiers)] = 10
You detect that one of the missile launchers is magical. The type of magic is from the Old-Earth system, of the Abjuration school.

This robot was useful, so I'm not going to kill it. Instead, I will *GENTLY* pat it on the head, and then walk off to find more things to repair myself, or new entities to annihilate.

You pat the useful robot on the head gently; whilst you're doing this, you see your friend - the octarine pile of debris from earlier. He's looking through the loot pile for something. You wave, before walking off in search of more useful components or pathetic meatbags. PERCEPTION: [8 - 2(wisdom) + 1(circumstantial)] = 7 (roll)
Peering around for anything of value, your eyes alight upon a building about twice your height. Gunshots can be heard from inside, and through a shattered window (the others are tinted) can be seen a few soldiers firing their weapons at what appears to be a large mouth, who's attempting to devour them. Potential Victims!

Gather up the spare parts and drag the non-active robot down the stairs.

You gather up the spare parts in your storage compartment, before dragging the other model down the stairs. It's tough work, seeing as it's the same size as you. LUCK: 10
By some miracle, none of the soldiers notice you. Guess none of them thought to look down.

Accept pats. Consume batteries. Take to the shadows and move to the area I encountered guards
Power Control: 240 EU max. Currently 80 EU, -5 EU/turn.

You accept the colossus' large pats, before inserting the SC-4 batteries you looted. You then proceed to move into the shadows and stalk to the area you first encountered the guards; reaching the area's permitter, you see a couple of the guards are leaning over a comrade's body, frantically bandaging a huge burn. They both have burns across their chests, while the fourth guard is lying on the floor, and appears missing most of his facial features...what a mess. The other prisoners who were here earlier are nowhere to be seen.

Aww... He fell... Well, we have other meatbags here to eat! But first, they arent exactly hospitable. Lets fix that! Shape myself into something generally dangerous, like a giant mouth to eat them. Then eat them!

( Just letting you know, shapeshifting will rarely if ever give you bonuses - it's useful for things like intimidation or fitting into tight spaces, but you couldn't, for example, fly using it. Without having an abundance of knowledge regarding birds and a high shapeshifting roll, that is. Being well-informed about what you're shifting into might give you bonuses in cases like that )

You attempt to change your form into a giant mouth. SHAPESHIFT: [4 + 1(shapeshifting) - 1(dexterity)] = 4
Taking the form of a massive mouth, you attempt to devour the guards! FIREARMS: [3] [9] [7] VS DODGE: [10 + 1(speed)] = OVERSHOT
You dive out of the way of the torrent of bullets, before realizing you launched yourself down the stairs...tumbling down them, you pass by the robot you met earlier. You stop about halfway down the stairs.

That missile launcher looks interesting.  Inspect it more closely.

Hmmm...you inspect the rocket launcher more closely. M.Knowledge: [5 + 2(knowledge) - 2(difficulty) - 2(no tools)] = 3
You can't quite figure out what the launcher's gimmick is, and have no idea if it's cursed or not. Abjuration is usually shields and the like, but why would it be on a rocket launcher...?

Exit room. Perform another Dynamic Entrance on the northeastern door of the corridor, complete with tacticool beat.

Follow Heldentenor, and turn on the SOM.

The two of you travel to a new doorway, while Aadhaya turns on the SOM. Lighting up, a small speaker surfaces from its shell and asks, "What is your medical emergency?" When it receives no answer (or an invalid one), the speaker goes back inside the shell and the lights go dark once more.

Reaching the door, the two of you burst in singing and dancing! LUCK: (9) (1)
Oh, my...you burst into an empty laboratory. Aadhaya's eyes light up when she sees all the !!SCIENCE!!. There's a treasure trove of useful supplies, textbooks, and gear here.

Meanwhile, Heldentenor puts on a tactical beat. MAGIC: [1] = CRIT FAIL; SAVE: [2] = 2
A morose whistling noise fills the corridor. Heldentenor sees a dark shadow at the corner of his eye, but when he turns to look it's gone. This noise accompanies them as they open the door, before vanishing.

Gah.. Well. There is a dead meatbag down there just waiting to be eaten. Go down and devour the dead guy that fell off the building. If there is anyone watching, make the scene look as gruesome as possible.

Spotting a huge robot standing next to the control tower, you drag the corpse into the building's shadow before devouring it. You easily consume the dead human.

Obliterate(Via punching and kicking) all of the soldiers, and maybe the mouth if it becomes aggressive or attempts to flee from my might. If I do not annihilate the mouth, then capture it by grabbing hold of it. Don't bring to too close.

You throw your fist through one of the control tower's windows, sending glass all over the room. You attempt to smash the soldiers with your fists, but you cannot kick high enough to reach them. The mouth is no longer in the room... PERCEPTION: [5 - 2(wisdom)] = 3
...and you can't figure out where he went. Oh well, plenty of other meatbags to obliterate! UNARMED: [6 + 1(unarmed) - 1(dexterity)] = 6 VS DODGE: [4(6)] [7(9)] [4(6)]
You manage to hit a guard, sending him flying down the stairs. Another one gets filled with glass, and collapses to the floor. The last one has avoided your blows, and is returning fire. RIFLE: [7 + 1(rifle)] = 8 VS DODGE: [3 - 1(speed) - 2(size)] = 0
A volley of bullets hit you in the face, ricocheting off the thick armor plating for the most part. One of them pierces through, but fails to cause any damage.

Throw a knife at each guard, and finish them off with my stunblade.
Power Control: 240 EU max. Currently 165 EU, -5 EU/turn.

You deftly hurl a flurry of knives at the guards, before charging in to the clearing. THROWING: [5/8/1 + 2(dexterity) + 2(surprise) - 1(unbalanced knives)] = 8/11/CF VS [10] [6] [1]
The first guard hears you and expertly dives out of the way; the second one isn't so lucky, however, and gets a blade in his spine. The third knife goes way off target, but that isn't of too much concern - the first guard accidently ripped off the bandage he was applying when he dove out of the way.

Guard Initiative: [2 + 1(speed) + 4(ranged) - 2(holstered)] = 5
Wraith Initiative: [6 + 1(speed)] = 7

The guard who dove out of the way starts to draw his rifle, but you sprint within striking distance before he can get a shot off. MELEE: [3 + 2(dexterity)] = 5 VS MELEE: [4 - 1(ranged weapon)] = 3
The guard lifts his weapon up to block your strike; the two weapons connect, and a shock goes through his weapon and into his arms. FORTITUDE: [7] = 7
He's a bit frazzled, but still standing. It appears he's trying to get a bit of breathing room to fire a volley of bullets into you.

Now use the spare parts to repair myself, then look around for a computer in this tower.

You use the spare parts to repair yourself. ROBOTICS: [5 + 1(robotics) + 2(perfect parts) - 2(no tools) + 1(knowledge)] = 7
Any damaged parts are replaced with new ones; within a minute, you're back into (semi-)perfect condition. You saw there were a few computers upstairs, but judging from the smashing and screaming sounds emanating from above you deem it unwise to venture back up there. You look for one downstairs, instead. LUCK: (6).
No such luck. There's some basic machinery, but no computers or anything resembling one.

Loot! Look for a weapon in particular. A glass vial of perchloric acid or something like that would be nice, as would a syringe of sedatives. Also look for equipment to analyze the medicine. Tertiary looting foci: food and water, a lab coat, black dye.

While doing that, start a duet with Aadhaya:

"Did you see that creepy, spooky shadow?"

Turn 13

Stay close, try to slash his arms.

You try and keep close to the soldier and slash his arms, while he tries to gain a bit of distance. WRAITH: [5 + 2(dexterity)] = 7 VS [7 - 1(ranged weapon)] = 6
You mange to get your knife into his arm... STRENGTH: [1] = CRIT FAIL VS ENDURANCE: [1] = CRIT FAIL
...slashing it. He spins away from you, tearing it from your grasp. It clatters to the floor, and the soldier falls to one knee painfully. His left arm is bleeding profusely; you must've cut a vein or something.

Loot! Look for a weapon in particular. A glass vial of perchloric acid or something like that would be nice, as would a syringe of sedatives. Also look for equipment to analyze the medicine. Tertiary looting foci: food and water, a lab coat, black dye.

Respond in the affirmative, and start doing the conga.

The two of you communicate via song while Heldentenor loots the room and Gupta practices some conga. LOOTING: [10] = OVERSHOT; DANCING: [6] = 6
You have no clue what this labaratory was used for, but they were up to SOMETHING in here...Heldentenor finds a strange-looking weapon, unlike any he'd every seen before. KNOWLEDGE: [3 + 2(knowledge)] = 5
It seemed to take some sort of bolt as ammunition; large metal bullets packed with who knows what. There were four lying in a package next to the weapon, which he grabbed. He also discovered several vials of assorted chemicals (one of which is perchloric acid), an empty syringe, and a chemical analyzer. There is unfortunately no food or water. Seeing something of note in the back of the room, Heldentenor moves over to a half-open cupboard and opens it. Facing him is a security droid; it comes online when the closet opens!
Meanwhile, Gupta gets a bit better at dancing. PERCEPTION: [9] = CRIT SUCCESS
She notices the security droid and dives for cover!

Oh, a giant robot. Too bad its inorganic... Oh well, search for something in the lower levels that is useful. Of course, absorb anything organic if it wont fight back.

You wander around in search of anything useful. PERCEPTION: [9 + 2(wisdom)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Ohhhhhh, man...you come across an open area with three corpses meals! There's a couple figures fighting to the side, but you ignore them as you dive in to feast! ABSORPTION: [5 + 1(absorption)] = 6
Within a few seconds, you'd half-absorbed one of the bodies. Delicious.

Open up the other robot and take its power cell if its got one, then look for some sort of vent within the tower that doesn't lead to the area full of crates.

You open up the other robot and grab its power cell. LUCK: [3] = 3
Unfortunately, it was almost empty. Still got a bit of juice out of it though. After charging yourself up, you go and look for some way out of the tower that doesn't lead into the crate room. SEARCH: [9 + 1(wisdom)] = CRIT SUCCESS
You find a small air shaft leading underneath the tower; with any luck, it'll have an opening outside the crate room. You start heading through it.

...Pick up the rocket launcher, but don't absorb it.  Fire it at... That tower.  See what happens.

You fire the launcher at the tower, and observe the effects. AIM: [2 + 1(dexterity)] = 3
The shot goes a bit off, but fortunately it's a big target. The rocket slams into the side of the tower, and a deafening explosion emanates from the impact. As it starts to grow larger, however, it just stops - as if contained by an invisible sphere. The explosion fills up the "ball", obliterating everything within.

Intimidate the guard by glaring at him, until he runs away. If he does not run away, or simply does not do so fast enough, kick him to the moon. Then, go off in search of other components.

You glare at the guard, attempting to scare him off. INTIMIDATE: [8 + 4(circumstantial)] = 12 VS [7 + 1(morale)] = 8
He starts to back away, but as he reaches the stairs he is immersed in a ball of explosive energy. Within half a second, he's been completely vaporized! You look around for the source of the explosion. PERCEPTION: [3 - 2(wisdom)] = 1
Unable to locate it, you simply go off in search of more components. SEARCH: [4 - 2(wisdom) - 2(well-looted room)] = 0
Besides the metal you saw earlier, you are unable to locate anything that may be of use to you.

May I rejoin the game with the same sheet? If you're curious why have I not posted in the thread, that was due to my one and a half month absence from the forums.

Turn 14

( I took a break from the forums for a bit, should be back on regular schedule. Beirus, haven't done your character yet but feel free to post an action next turn. )

Look around. Flex. Search for a steel chair.

You look around your surroundings, flexing all the while. PERCEPTION: [2 + 1(wisdom)] = 3
Unfortunately, there are no steel chairs in the vicinity. On the bright side, you see a couple figures in CQC; looks like fun!

That rocket launcher is mine now.

You absorb the rocket launcher. +Size [Small, 20/100], +Spell [Force Bubble (4, abjuration)]
You feel the magic enter your being. It's a difficult spell (as most Old Earth magic is), but even if you fail you'll probably be able to pull off a weaker version of it.

Grab his weapon and finish him off.

As he feels his wound, you grab his gun and attempt to tear it from his grasp. STRENGTH: [1] = CRIT FAIL VS [5 - 1(injury)] = 4
He pushes you off, and tries to get in firing position. MANEUVER: [1] = CRIT FAIL VS [9 + 2(dexterity)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Despite his attempts to level his weapon at you, you keep tapping the weapon this way or that, or getting too close for him to lower the gun. Before long, you've bullied him against a wall.

AWW YEAH! Absorb the bodies! All of them!

What a feast! You dig in to a delicious meal. ABSORPTION: [9 + 1(absorption)] = CRIT SUCCESS
Within half a minute, all the dead or unconscious have been consumed. You turn your attention to the two remaining figures; one's of no interest (metal), while the other is a tasty meatbag.

Continue taking cover.

You and Heldentenor continue taking cover from the robot, who's opened fire on the table you're ducking behind. Bullets whiz by your head, and after about fifteen seconds they stop.

Travel down the air shaft with care, leaving the now certainly powerless cleaner robot behind.

( The battery gave you 30 EU. )

You leave your powerless comrade behind, traveling through the ventilation system carefully. After about a minute of this, you reach an opening; you can also see one a little bit further down.

Turn 15

[ Alright, finished up with finals. Go ahead, Moonlit; you appear in the same room everyone else did. Feel free to post actions; I'll do yours and Beirus' sheet probably in the next turn. ]

Charge them and do a double clothesline on them.

Get a firm grip on the gun, and kick his chest.

((Did I get bigger that last round?))

ABSORB THE MEATBAG! JUMP ONTO HIM WITH ALL THE FORCE I CAN MUSTER!

Mangler Initiative: [10 - 1(speed)] = 9
Wraith Initiative: [9 + 1(speed)] = 10
Blorn Initative: [7 + 1(speed)] = 8
Guard Initative: [10] = 10

Wraith and the surviving guard struggle over the gun.. STRENGTH: [4] = 4 VS [9 - 1(injury) - 1(positioning) = 7
...but the guard manages to tear it from the robot's grasp. Wraith, losing control of the gun, goes to kick him in the chest. UNARMED: [4 + 2(dexterity)] = 6 VS [5 - 1(position)] = 4
Wraith manages to kick the guard in the gut... [1] = 1 VS [5] = 5
...but fails to get enough force behind the attack to do any significant damage. The guard grunts, but seems fine.

The Mighty Mangler charges into battle, and attempts to clothesline the two combatants! SPEED: [2 - 1(speed)], UNARMED: [4 + 2(wrestling) + 1(dexterity)] = 7 VS Wraith: [5 + 2(slow) - 1(distracted) + 1(speed)] = 7; Guard: [3 + 2(slow) - 1(distracted) - 1(positioning) - 1(injury)] = 2
Mangler manages to slam his left arm into the guard, but barely clips the robot, who jumps back defensively. STRENGTH: [10 + 1(strength)] = OVERSHOT; ENDURANCE: [(W:3)(G:3)]
The heel of Mangler's hand crashes into the back of the guard's neck, breaking it and killing him instantly. Wraith receives a damaging blow to his right shoulder, damaging the circuitry. Mangler feels a sharp pain go through his left hand; he appears to have damaged it when he broke the guard's neck.
( Mangler: Injury ) ( Wraith: Injury )

Blorn takes advantage of the distraction to jump on the guard's body as it falls to the ground limply. ABSORPTION: [7 + 1(absorption) + 1(size)] = 9
The man's corpse is quickly absorbed by the ravenous slime creature. Blorn is aware of the Mighty Mangler's presence - another potential meal!
( The funny thing is I actually put the size in last turn, but then erased it as I was planning to put it into the XP counter. You are now Large [10/100]. )

Go looking for more batteries.

You go looking for more M.Batteries, or other potential fuel sources. LOOTING: [1 + 1(wisdom)] = CRIT FAIL
Not only do you manage to fail to find any batteries, you end up where you were a few minutes ago! There's currently a fight going on, but you haven't yet made out specifics.

Ready my rifle, and prepare to shoot.

Aadhaya readies her weapon and lines up a shot on the robot. PERCEPTION: [7 + 1(wisdom)] = 8
It has turned away from you, and is aiming its weapons at your companion. You take the chance to fire a shot at it! RIFLE: [5] = 5 VS DODGE: [6 - 2(difficulty) - 1(distracted)] = 3
The shot lands on its right cannon, and appears to damage it. It turns to you, forcing you to take cover once again behind the table once again. (-2 EU/laser rifle)

Look around for anything useful, like a weapon. Or a bigger weapon. Or armor.

You look around for any useful supplies. LOOTING: [3 - 3(heavily looted room)] = 0
Failing to find any gear, you find yourself lost in a maze of crates. If only they held something of use.

Go to the more distant opening and peer through it.

You go to the opening and peer through it. PERCEPTION: [3 + 1(wisdom)] = 4
It appears to be a lab of some sort. There's a combat robot a few meters from the opening, facing away from you. The sound of a laser rifle can be heard from further inside the room, but you're unsure of the specifics surrounding it and the potential combat brewing from within. There DO appear to be some useful scientific supplies; you don't see anything directly robotics-related.

Turn 16

(( Happy new year! I'll post more regularly. Promise. Just like I said I would last time.

Slight change to XP: when I first made the system, I overestimated how much XP people would be gaining. It now costs 100 to get to level 1, 200 to get from level 1 to 2, 300 to get from level 2 to 3. ))

Go looking for more batteries.  Again.  Exit the area first.

You depart from the area and continue to search for M.Batteries. LOOTING: [10 + 1(wisdom)] = 11
Travelling through the pair of doors at the end of the room, you find yourself in a hallway. Taking the first door you find, you end up in a storage closet - filled with fusion packs, bullets, barrels, crates, batteries, and M.Batteries. Without delay, you fill up your energy storage. EU: [450/450].

Grab that gun! If it's in the acid blob, go to the other corpses and grab one of theirs instead.

Irish whip the robot into the absorbing thingimabob.

Reduce my volume in an attempt to become harder, then attack the meatbag! Spray him with acid!

Wraith Initiative: [1 + 1(speed)] = 2
Mangler Initiative: [4 - 1(speed)] = 3
Blorn Initiative: [9 + 1(speed)] = 10

Blorn attempts to contract, forcing his material into a more dense form. STRENGTH: [4 + 1(strength)] = 5
Despite his most strenuous straining, he is unable to reduce his size any. Failing this, he launches an acidic assault against the Mighty Mangler! RANGED: [2 + 1(size) - 1(dexterity)] = 2 VS EVASION: [6 - 1(speed)] = 5
Acid rains down in an arc around the Mangler, who dives out of the way. He rolls over to Wraith, attempting to grab hold and toss him into the blob! GRAB: [3 + 1(dexterity)] = 4 VS DODGE: [2 + 1(speed)] = 3
Wraith turns away to go for a downed guard's gun, but his left arm is grabbed from behind by the Mangler! WRESTLING: [9 + 1(strength) + 2(wrestling) = 12 VS [7 + 2(dexterity)] = 9 (Wrestling defensively takes either dexterity or strength; whichever is higher).
Wraith whips Wraith around, launching him through the acidic spray and into Blorn! Wraith manages to prevent being submerged, bouncing lightly off the goo and landing facefirst into an acid puddle.

Return fire with my rifle.

You return fire with your rifle! RIFLE: [5] = 5 VS DODGE: [5 - 2(difficulty)] = 3
Three of your shots land in the robot's chest. ENDURANCE: [1] = CRIT FAIL
One of them must've hit a critical system, as the robot suddenly stops firing and slumps over. You peek over the table at it hesitantly.

Go open a few random crates.

Walking up to a few random crates, you throw the tops off and peer inside. LUCK: [10] = 10
What luck! Opening the first crate you see, you reach in and pull out your sword! The sword, being a gift of your God himself, possesses tremendous power - or did. It appears to be missing its Power Crystals (a number of gems), reducing its raw magical potential. Still a masterpiece of a weapon; and the aura of holy energy is still there. Note: your traits are amplified while in possession of your Reaping Blade; the stronger it gets (more crystals), the more amplified they are. +1 Reaping Blade

Find weapon. Look around for signs of others, and follow in that direction.

You look around for a weapon or other people. PERCEPTION: [4] = 4
Though you see no weapons or objects that would be well-suited for combat, you hear the sound of combat in the distance. Travelling in that direction, you come to the edge of the maze of crates. Peering at the scene, you see a giant blob spraying acid at a pair of humanoid figures, one of which just Irish whipped the other into the aforementioned blob.
