Bay12 Tropers
« on: December 16, 2009, 06:18:11 am »

I know that by creating this topic I'm opening some sort of death-pit that will eventually kill everyone on the forum, but I couldn't resist.

I was reading the My Immortal Drinking Game page, when I came across this:

Yes. That is the Squeegy you're thinking of, not some name-stealing jerk.

Which brought me to wondering how many of us spend (too much) time there, whether it be making edits, or just reading articles.

Are you a TVTropes frequent flier? Speak up!

(as a side note: from that drinking game page? Squeegy is badass.)

EDIT: Yes, I know Internet Explorer is terrible.

I try, but usually I screw something up with my edits. Not that I still don't try.

Example. I tried to use one of Squeegy's comics without his permission to illustrate 'Completely missing the point'.

Not only was it without his permission, it was a hotlinked image. I make silly mistake.

I always login as "Aqizzar", but I don't actually have a user page or go to many (read: any) Talk pages.

Just another Unknown Troper passing through.

I actually spend time on TVTropes that I could be using writing papers. Just... reading things. I don't even edit that much. :D

I don't go to TVTropes often, because anime is the first example page, and looking through it, it looks like a huge circlejerk.  I get mad when I read it.

You can always close the anime section befor reading it. I just scroll through it looking for Gurren Lagann or Full Metal Panic references.

TVTropes is an interesting site, but I don't think I can contribute much. No Such Thing As Notability is nice, but some things are way too minor to note even here.

I made myself a promise not to become active on TvTropes because it would ruin my last remnant of school motivation. I have however made the occasional edit here and there, and started the LCS page.

My brain is a TVTropes substation. That's all I have to say about it.

I've spent so much time there, I directly download new information from that site into my brain psychically.

I read TV tropes a lot. Probably covered everything I care about. I still plan short stories with the story generator, although nothing more than plotting.

Am I the only one here that thinks Sofia's S2 Let's Play should be added to the article bearing the same name?

I read it quite a lot, but never edit.

It was tvropes that introduced me to DF.
