True that. And we need our mysterious friend here to cough up some money.

Alright I'm back. Unannounced break there because a friend from out of town appeared and they stayed over for a while.

It's free travel to the shipyards as well as the Prize of Rose.

Same. We could go to two shops: the industrial one suggested by the barkeep, and a more Courier one. At best we could grab a millenium falcon-like ship, able to do both Courier and Cargo (obviously not as good as specialized ships), with enough weaponry to decently fend off attackers and such.

Sorry but i'm just to tired to do up a big list of spaceship stats.

This is the format I was doing. I don't know if it's to much or two little. I don't know if it's going to be possible for me to do even rough floor plans for each ship.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

If i'm feeling up to it i'll get it done tomorrow but right now my head is killing me.

I'd advise at least sketching it out so you can make in-ship scenes that don't require non-Euclidean geometry.

To give you some perspective for distances between systems, Proxima Centauri (our nearest star) is just over 4LY away from us. The average distance varies depending on how close to the center of the galaxy you are. At the center, it's about 1/4 of a LY, and out near the rim it's 10LY. The Milky Way itself is between 100,000 and 120,000LY in diameter.

So it'd take about 5 mins to get to Proxima with that ship, 20 seconds at the center between stars, 12 mins at the rim and 100 days to cross from one side to the other.

I'd recommend reducing the power of the FTL drive by a factor of ten, and (if you intend to have any cross-galaxy journeys) some sort of super FTL. Maybe jump gates, stations that are designed to super charge an FTL drive or special super FTL haulers.

That sounds great.

Or you could, you know, give them  slow, yet exponential speed increase. So slow arceleration at start, and as soon as you break lightspeed it goes way faster.

Which also solves the plothole of why the technology isn't used for high energy Kinetic bombaredements
