Like which ones?
One of the possible dwarven names in the Anbennar mod for EU4 is "Urist."

Then I notice my government type is Reign of Terror. Oh yeah.
I'm sorry, what?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I really, really enjoy the new elective laws btw. Basically select it every time for maximum fun.

Edit: I just noticed I'm a democratic Kingdom of Terror.
Ahhh, you meant the flavour text. I thought you meant Government Type, like Iqta, Imperial, Republic, Feudal.

By the way, I've noticed quite a lot of the achievements don't proc if you're playing on shattered or random worlds even if they say they're achievement compatible.
Yes, they're disabled. They said as much in the dev diaries. Kinda weird that they didn't put that in the game, not everyone reads those.

Oh hey, I get that all the time! Usually for me I'll dream about tripping or dropping a plate, something like that. Scares the hell out of my girlfriend when I just violently convulse out of nowhere.
Wait, is that not normal?
I don't know if I get it "all the time", but it's definitely common enough to not be a noteworthy occurrence.
They're called Hypnic Jerks

And that "brain freaks out cuz it thinks you're dying" thing ... Well, we don't really know what causes them. But that isn't exactly a leading theory.

The leading theory, and one I'm not particularly convinced by but it's better than nothing, is that it's a holdover from when our ancestors slept in trees - the relaxation of the body muscles makes the brain think we're falling, and causes an involuntary twitch to wake us up and assess our situation.

That seems far too trite of an explanation to me, but it's the one you'll find listed at the top most anywhere it's discussed.

It does bring a very 'majority rules' idea to the constituency.
Y'know, as long as it's a democracy.

Also, it would allow for a bundle of genocides and oppressions and whatnot, just not against the dominant niche.
I guess. But it works for me, so whatever.
Riiiiiiight up until it doesn't and everyone else won't help you at all, because of having the same mindset.

Very 'prisoner's dilemma' you got here.

Eh, the Turkish translation of "Constantinople" is "Konstantiniyye," not "Istanbul." It's like saying "New York" is the American translation of New Amsterdam.

One of the more common theories behind the names origin, because honestly we don't actually know, is that it stems from the medieval Greek phrase "To/In The City," "εἰς τὴν Πόλιν," which is pronounced as [is tim ˈbolin]. At any rate, before 1928 it was basically a coin toss which word was used, but the official name was Istanbul after the Turkish Republic... Gave it an official name. Before then, the Ottoman empire used Be Makam-e Qonstantiniyyah al-Mahmiyyah, or "The protected location of Constantinople," and "İstanbul" basically interchangably - they didn't have an official name for it.

After 1928, the Turks settled on İstanbul and promoted it to other countries. It's only really since the Turks took a definitive stance on it that it's become a hot-button topic, because both words were used interchangeably by both Greek and Turkish people before then.

Cataclysm is one of those weird games where the "experimental" version is A) usually more stable than the 'stable' release, and B) almost a completely different game after enough time has passed, which is the case in this situation.

Like you might as well be asking what's the same, it's a smaller list.

Of course, you're talking about a version from "4 months ago," which... You know, ISN'T the 0.C release, so I don't know what you're asking here.

Eh, you look kind of intimidating in a lanky kind of way. You're that kind of look that, depending on your mood, my mood, and the surrounding context, you'd either look like a fun goofball or an intimidating... Person.

I dislike polls that use the word itself rather than the idea that the word stands for because people may be for every single thing that hate speech and/or political correctness stand for (and, eh? that'd be an... INTERESTING person :v) but have a knee-jerk response to the actual terms themselves.

That's literally the same thing I think every time you bring up "People like feminist ideals but don't call themselves feminist!" 'Feminism' is still a fairly vilified word, and it's not beyond the realm of thought that people don't call themselves feminist because of what they knee-jerk respond to, rather than anything actually to do with feminism. Or hate speech. Or political correctness.

Also wow. Finland really went a different way linguistically. "Heim hjem hem ya know?"
"Oh yes, koti."
"Wait what dafuq d'joo say?!"
That implies Finnish started at the same place as the Norse-derived. Finnish is a completely different language - it's roots are closer to Hungarian than Swedish.

Yeah, like I said, it's something I've notice specifically in big charities. It's also possible the smaller ones are as bad or worse on average, and just aren't subject to the same scrutiny. In which case, the idea that them being Bad because Big is Bunk.
