Title: Roll to Dodge - RTDMGbeta madness!

Basically, this will be a semi-automated RTD game using my (beta) program seen in this thread (http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=24265.0).

The idea is that I edit the data textfile before each round to give outcomes while using this thread as a way to gain features and stuff that will be realistically needed.

So, standard RTD rules apply, see most other threads for details.

I will allow up to 10 players in-game at a time.
There will be a waiting list as well, with the person at the front getting 24 hours to claim any open slot before they are moved to the back of the list.

Setting:

You wake up, fully clothed(!) in a vast white expanse with no memories of how you got there or why.
There is a single narrow stone(ish) block, about chest height, with a "help" button on it.

First update will either be in 10-12 hours or 19-24, depending on if I have time.



Also, it has permadeath.
Well, only if there is a waiting list.
And you are revived if you make it back in.

Note: Any manual additions will be in italics.

As a test with only penguin on the list and no data, the following result came:

Okay, I thought you might want to see what I have so far, as far as data files go.

i------It streaks by your target, barely skimming it.


Edit: more testing shows I am not good at making data files. Maybe a second character for each state would help.

Ok Im a bit confused, was that the first turn or is the first turn coming up?

There hasn't been a first turn just yet, that is just me running the program as I enter the data.

I think everything is sorted out, and a program change to the output format.
Perfect sample:
Vaiolis:
Calls down a meteor!
1:It crashes toward you! Dodge roll!
4:You are nearly avoid being hit, but are anyway. Damage avoidance roll!
5:You don't sustain any lasting harm.


I would say that this is a complete success and I await more players or the first OFFICIAL turn. It will be marked with a large bold heading saying turn 1

Meh. I have no use for a mass generator, not yet anyway. I think I'll rather start on a program that keeps the players' stats, and adds/alters turn consequences to their status. Like a character sheet tracker for RTD.

Also, I'm beginning the work on various rulesets for RTD, from RTD Standard 1.0, to the RTD Extended 1.3 that I use now.

Aww, nobody had to dodge my meteor ;D. Oh well, if we're going matrix, then I summon forth a cool black suit with robe, sunglasses, and a machine gun!

If I can't do all of those, I just summon a sniper rifle with lots of ammo!

If not that, I summon forth an adamantine katana with +1 against agent smiths!
