Bio: Baker’s parents had fallen on hard times. A few trade caravans that failed to arrive meant that they were forced to add... substitutes for the grain they would have normally used in the bread.
But tricks like reusing wasted dough and filling loaves with dirt will only fool people for so long. When this substitution was discovered, the Baker name was ruined - serving as a reminder of what they could never be again. It wasn’t long before the closing of their shop that Alan’s parents were among the people who could only dream of buying the fine bread they once made.
This irony turned Alan’s father into a man to be feared. By day he hauled goods and material for a handful of coins. By night, he screamed at his son for sharing in his failure. After a few months of backbreaking labor and threats of broken backs, Alan got up from his pile of hay in the night and walked off, leaving his parents to their fate.
Now on his own, Alan’s passing interest in magic tricks was now a vital skill. Alan set up a con with a pair of friends - he would put on a card show for passers-by, and his friends would take a few extra coins.
It wasn’t long until the trio were well-off - for criminals, that is. They were even able to filch a magic book from an inattentive mage. When Alan read one of the spells aloud on a dare, he felt a weak pulse of magic and discovered a small flame coming from the tip of his finger. Since then, Alan learned (through much trial and error) how to further enhance his act. Cards burning with harmless flames, sparks from the tip of his finger, making cups glow - and soon, bigger and bigger crowds were attracted.
Things went well until the day a noble took interest in the show. One of the guards noticed one of Alan’s friends sticking a hand in the noble’s coin purse, and things got... messy. Alan wound up having to skip town alone, and, with no other prospects, he joined up with a mercenary company as an entertainer.

In the past the noble Bribush family was once known for its mighty warriors, the most recent hero produced by their bloodline having been Acacia's grandmother, the eccentric Carolina Bribrush, better known by her epithet of The Knight of Roses. Acacia had always chafed on how her parents (particularly her father and head of the hous Hesperr Bribush)had tried to raise her as a delicate noble girl, while their martial tutelage went to her elder brother. They had strictly forbidden her despite her pleas, almost as if they were afraid of something, and so she sought out training in battle from her brother.
The last straw came however when her beloved elder brother Gallios was killed in battle against one of the Aurellian raiding parties. The shock of this event drastically changed her parents worldviews, causing them to become strict pacifists. They were extremely outspoken about this, and eventually even began brazenly criticising the King for the war's prolongment. This went too far, and soon the family found themselves stripped of their lands and titles, utterly reduced to nothing but their names and whatever posessions they could carry. Absolutely enraged by this and the percieved cowardliness of her parents, before they could be reposessed Acacia stole her Grandmother's armor from where it was placed on display, alongside a sizeable amount of luggage, and hopped onto her brother's beloved and now partnerless wyvern Rhodon and flying off into the distance to join the war effort in her own way, that was to say finding a mercenary company and enlisting there.
