I guess the logical progression is for Urist to accuse the fortress guard of being a creature of the night, and escape while he's busy giving the whole "What is this madness?" speech.

WWUD if the fortress was, in fact, a night creature?

He would-  No.  The rules have changed, Urist.  You no longer choose what to do.  You are not in power anymore.

The Fortress itself, being a night creature, would shapeshift into a sperm whale and swallow Urist whole.

It would suspect that goblins must be in very high numbers. Or that Urist has managed to kill them all.

Urist runs from a squad  hoping to also trick them into falling into a troll pit nearby like it did to others. This squads however, are actually competent and are closing in.

WWUD when the target pit finnaly gets in his sight?
