Welcome to One Shot Mafia.  Everyone in this game will be given a 1 shot ability.  Such abilities could range from a daykill to a roleblock, but all roles may only use their ability once, no matter what it is.  Roles will be unknown in this setup, and there will be no duplicate roles.  Some roles will be strong, others weak.  Just remember: Shoot wisely.

Mundane rules:
No hammers - Deadlines with possibility of day extensions
Tie results in No Lynch
No quoting any pms you receive from me
Pms between players are allowed, but I'll need a copy of any/ all of them
The dead and the scum will get their own Quick Chats
If your 1-shot ability is wasted due to a roleblock, protection, bad timing etc, tough.  It's still used.

Scum all get their own 1-shot actions, but get to perform an NK every night, hence the fact that they are evil "Repeaters".  Anyway, anyone want to play?  There are quite a few mafia games going on at the moment, so I'm fine with delaying the start of this one a bit if we want to lower the amount happening at once.  The game has 9 or 12 slots for signups, depending on interest.

I'll in, but I think this should wait until after at least one of Kill Webadict Mafia and Beginner 4 has ended.

Hm... I'd suggest forgetting about Beginner's 4, because it shouldn't really influence the other games that are running.  It's not like the beginners are going to really be busy with a bunch of games (though I understand if it's the IC's that we're considering).

I'll join this, too.

So closed setup? Or will you be sharing the list at the start of the game? Or will each person receive a known role in addition to their own, as has become the craze recently?

There are no known roles.  Known roles basically make it a closed setup.  On the other hand, most of the roles will be one shot versions of ordinary roles, so you won't have to deal with anything too ridiculous.

Oh, and on death, you'll learn Role, Alignment and whether their ability was used or not (although obviously not on whom).

Also bear in mind that the game will not end until either all scum or dead or until there's absolutely no way for the town to win.  Certain roles may make the game continue even after the scum numbers have drawn level with the town, so don't go claiming as scum recklessly :P.

Quick update: All roles now decided, and flavour text thought out.  Each player will be a "Disciple of x", which will be a guide to their one shot abilities.  Other details on flavour text will be revealed when the game starts.

Also note that there could be mafia specific roles (for instance, 1 shot godfather/ 1 shot framer) but they will receive a safeclaim, that is, they will know of a role that isn't in the game which they can therefore safely claim.

Anyone interested?  The game wouldn't have to start for a while (perhaps at the end of KWN mafia?) and I think I'll make it No free PMs (due to the possibility of near-confirmed townies).

The idea is to give the game some fun, but avoid having it driven by powerroles.  You can't just crowd round the (one-shot) cop and get him to find all the scum while the (one-shot) doctor protects him...
