 Our skybridge is just under harpy spawning range. So long as we build under the skybridge we should be fine. Our main capital ship is only a screen and a half off the ground with another screen of headroom from the top of it to the skybridge.

 I'm sure if the capital ship was higher the NPC count would prevent falcor from wrecking us.

Seems like time wasted/mobility inhibited to fill it with sand, whether you're using explosives or powder. I'm planning on staying with my world for a while, so I'll just go back and terraform those areas to my liking.

On the server I play on the players just said 'screw it' and stopped worrying about the corruption and hallow. Because they took to the skies in airships. Now every player is making their own small craft.
Definitely very cool!  I need to get in on your server :P

It's somewhere in this thread, I don't see it in the OP. New Arcadia or something.

 It's sort of a forum-specific thing I think, so I'm not feeling too good about just leaking whatever IP I have saved. I'll ask next time I meet the server host, and I'll try to get an overview of the base that was constructed.

Isn't mythril lava-immune?  Just some casual dwarfeneering to dig UNDER the lava and you're there!

About the plot thing, to me it seems like its some sort of end of the world -scenario. The world is falling apart, allowing influences from outside to affect it, causing all the corruption and undead and other things like that to appear. Killing the wall of flesh just accelerates the process, causing the world to eventually get consumed by the two opposing outside forces. The player characters just happen to be in the middle of it all, surviving.

Why not? They're basically just mother slimes that do a shitload of damage.

To me the earliest hint that was the case was the Shadow Pearls (or Shadow Orbs)

WoF was actually the god of this world, and the only stabilizing force keeping the outside at bay. It has been keeping the corruption and the hallow in check for aeons until some asshole started digging holes in the world and then killed it in its weakened state.

We're monsters.
