Title: What attracts Bronze Colossuses (Colossi) in Dwarf Fortress mode?
Post by: PineMarten on February 12, 2019, 10:06:21 am
Can anyone tell me what factors into the chance of Bronze Colossus attacks? Is it population, wealth, or something else?
I would really like to capture one for an idea of mine. What can I do to attract one naturally?

The default pop attack trigger of megabeasts is 80, but there also have to be any megabeasts around to attack you, and most seem to be settled in the ruins of the sites they've depopulated.

Bronze Colossus has [ATTACK_TRIGGER:80:10000:100000]
So, population 80, exported wealth 10000, created wealth 100000.

Of course, your world needs Bronze Colossi in it in the first place. Check Legends whenever you make a new world to see how many megabeasts are still alive.

Possibly embark next to its lair to make attacks more likely.

I'm not sure if the artifacts release made Megabeasts target artifacts post-worldgen (or if it's working even if it did). Might be worth checking the devlogs or asking Toady.
