A while ago, a dork on the internet set out to make a community fort based around the oddly specific challenge that no mechanisms could be used. People liked this idea, and the fort was dubbed Flamehorses. Eventually it fell, and it was popular and fun enough to gain a sequel, known as Traphorses, where all forges were banned. This was popular as well, and many found it entertaining.

The Dork has set out to make a community for once again. Welcome to Bandithorses, where we shall rob the world blind!

First, I shall welcome ye, all you newcomers. However, the first game slots are reserved for those who were in the last incarnation, Traphorses.

The ultimate goal of this fort is too rob the world blind by stealing as many artifacts as possible. Making our own is cool too. I guess.

That means that there are nine slots reserved, eight for the originals and one extra for a friend. That leaves one extra! First come first serve!

Of course, not all of the original members may want to join. Some may not have the time or interest. So I will happily welcome you in their place if they either do not want to join or take one week to respond.

As standard procedure, your turn lasts for one in game year or one real time week, whichever comes first.

Now, there is a mod I wanted to add, but since the new version has come out today, I shall wait till it updates to start. It is a name you may have heard of already, What Lurks Below.

The next matter is that no location has been chosen yet-where do we want to live? A megabeast heavy world with dying civilizations? A harsh desert full of the living dead? We'll leave that to be decided.

One final note, roleplaying is fully welcome and encouraged. We would all appreciate it, however, if you did not deliberately attempt to kill dorfings, though accidents do happen.

So! We've reached that point of the move here. The any day now point.

So pretty soon, possible on next Saturday, I'm gonna board a plane to Hawaii. I will build a house with dad and one of my younger brothers. Then, after over a week or maybe more, the rest of my family will come.

I'll be the first to admit. I screwed this up because I wasn't sure about the time. At first, I thought I'd be gone there without internet for a month, and now it's with internet for a week. Maybe. I don't flipping know. I'll only find out when I get there. So I'll say it now: I would not bet on me having Internet during that time, so assume I'll be gone for two weeks. Maybe more, maybe less.

Next, even if I do have internet in that time, I probably won't be very active because, surprise, building a house is hard.

Finally, I am gonna be making a blog. Working on that now, you'll be seeing more on that in the future. When I do, I'll post about it here, so make sure to PTW if interested. And when I know that tomorrow I'll be going, I'll say so here as well.

So I've heard that this is possible before, but I've never attempted it. But before I do, I'll ask again to make sure: if a dwarf throws a tantrum and knocks over a statue in a temple devoted to a specific god, will he become a vampire or were-creature?

When a friend recommended Baccano to me, I went to Vrv that night to see if I could watch it. But it's not on Vrv. Fair enough, I thought, so I decided to do the next best thing and check on Youtube for it (because I'm a stingy jerk). Strangely though, Baccano isn't there either except for a few scattered episodes, many of which have been copyright striked. I decided that I'm willing to pay, so I checked out Crunchyroll and Hulu next, even though I don't have subscriptions for those two. Not there either. Available for Netflix DvD, but I don't use that. Then I checked Amazon, and it is available there, just with two problems: one, only available for DvD, which my household has a bad track record with, and two, it's available in two versions, Blu-Ray and not Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray is not available in America, and not Blu-Ray is available FOR 200 DOLLARS.

I can't find a version of this show anywhere that's available for a reasonable price. I even checked Dailymotion out of desperation, and it's not there either. How the heck do I watch Baccano?

Sometimes, we can't predict what is going to happen. Sometimes things surprise us. I thought going to Texas would be the last move I'd make for a long time. Nope, I'm going to Hawaii now.

I'm not sure what to expect when we get there. Anything could happen. I've been told to expect a butt load of culture shock, but that's about it. In two months time, anything could happen. As I step off the plane and onto Hawaiian soil, I don't even know what I'll initially see. I know it's a jungle. But... that's it.

What's the point? Well, I've been thinking. Maybe I should write a book about it. I mean, I only get to go to be a newcomer to Hawaii once, right? It only makes sense that I should catalog these new experiences and share them with the world. What do you think?

When I first made Windlock, I had one goal in mind; I wanted to test out a trap idea I had. Unfortunately, I have spent five in game years without a single surface invasion. So I have to resort to drastic measures to test out this trap-I am unleashing hell.


As you can see here, that is an admantine vein. I will send one miner down there on a suicide mission. He will not survive the hoard of demons.

The goal of this challenge is simple - open up hell and survive the initial hoard of demons with no surviving clowns. If none get past the traps, then I win and my traps are clearly the best thing since sliced bread. If not, then I have to unleash plan Z in an attempt to simply survive.


That is where the demons will be coming from. That door will be forbidden so that he has to be killed by the demons, I don't want him running into the traps. That would be bad for morale. The impulse ramps to the far right have a minecart filled with spiked iron balls balanced on a floor grate connected to a lever. I will launch this HB, or "Hell's Bastion," towards the demons at top speed. It will hit a fortification and all of the spiked balls will fly out into the demon's faces.


Two more HBs, as well as a cage full of ogres I have hooked up to a lever. I will release the ogres if they slip pass the upright spike traps. And the dwarf is named Tholtig, he is handling the adamantine I already have right now. Once he leaves, the madness begins.

One of my best miners is being sent to the site now to open the underworld. His name is Erush, and may Armok have mercy on his soul.

Wait... almost forgot to wall off the entrance to the magma sea. I don't want them escaping there, they need to fight plan Z. Erush, you live for now.

Almost forgot to mention what plan Z is.


That's plan Z. I have it trapped right now.

Erush is busy right now and I'm too lazy to wait for him. It's Dodok's turn to die for Windlock.


WUT. Please tell me I'm wrong and that there is an underworld in that vein. Please. It goes down a layer or two. It must start down there. Right?

And then Dodok dug into a random pull of magma I didn't even know was there. ****

A trade caravan arrived at this point. That's annoying. At least it's the same outpost liason as last time, I can tell because of here scars.

All right, this is taking a bit longer than I expected it too. I'll finish this hell after lunch.

So seemingly randomly, one of my miners turned violent and killed my engraver. After fifteen pages of him beating her, she punched him in the face and knocked him out, but bled to death before he woke up. He did this in front of literally everyone. And yet, he is not listed as a criminal in the justice menu. It isn't even saying there is a cold case.

I was kinda looking forward to my captain of the guard beating him with his iron whip, but it seems like this will not happen. Do I have to just execute this jerk myself, or is there something I'm missing?
