I've noticed that having a diagnoser guildhall attracts diagnoser immigrants.
Anyone else can confirm?
-
How many worlds have you tested this theory on?
Are these diagnosers historical figures, or dwarves with no history raised from pops to visit your fortress? (Check Legends).
The vast majority of historical figures in well populated worlds already have professions regardless of what a player might do.

I've had about 4 embarks over 3 worlds. Each time I embarked with a proficient diagnoser. Designated a meeting area for diagnosers before the first immigrant wave. And in each embark in the first 2 migration waves a proficient or better diagnoser came along. I never see diagnosers in migration waves otherwise.
Will have to test it without embarking with a diagnoser.
-
In my previous embark, both diagnosers who migrated were historical figures.
-
Could be coincidence with the higher number of military dwarves moving in from the more violent worlds.
-
Yeah. Just the meeting area and no diagnoser doesn't work so well.

I had a talented (6) diagnoser with all the other medical skills at levels 1 to 2 migrate in the 1st wave.
Small world, and I didn't even have a hospital yet.
None of my embarking 7 had any medical skills.

That's normal. The game tries to send migrants with the skillsets it thinks you need.

I had one fort where I had about 12 herbalist migrants. Not quite sure what was happening there.
