Yeah, I remember the last time I had those on my feet. Once you stop walking on them, they're surprisingly easy to forget.

I miss the days back when I would go for runs barefoot at night. The soles of my feet were thick with calluses. 
Back when I was not-lazy and lived in a less populated area. These days I'm too shy to go running, shoes or not.

Barefoot? At night? Weren't you worried about stepping on rocks or thorns or nails or any of the things that would do horrible horrible things to your unprotected feet?

Well, I lived in a semi-rural area so the ground wasn't carpeted in broken glass and used hypodermics like it is around here.
Rocks were the only thing that occasionally hurt my feet, and once I had nice thick calluses those didn't really bother me either.
I would go running on the road, not through actual wilderness with holes and thorns and broken branches and such.
