Title: Deathmatch: An Arena Fantasy RTD

Because I'm bored, and have way too much time on my hands, I decided to make another RTD, this time a Deathmatch one. Basically, you are thrown into a random arena with nothing more than the clothes on your back. There are, however, ways to get special abilities, such as what your race is, special items and so much more.

Ash: You are in a wooden house.
Teirra: You wake up on a wooden platform, which is suspended in the air.
Igor: You wake up in a cave. You were sleeping on a warm bed, which was at the top right corner of said cave.

The rules are simple. The last man standing wins. You may only do things that you can conceivably, with the abilities you posses, do

2. You search for stones, but are unable to find any.

Look around house
Auto-Success. You look around the house. There is bed in one corner, and a chest in the corner directly opposite of it. There is also a wardrobe. There is a window beside the bed. As you walk around, you notice that the floor creaks.

Search for means to leave the platform (unharmed, that is).
Auto-fail. The only way to get off the platform is juping off, as it seems to be floating in the air somehow. Perphaps you should look around the platform first.

Pick up a rock, leave the cave, try to find other people.
3. You pick up a rock. Unfortunately, you are unable to find any conventional ways of exiting the cave.

Auto-success. You raise your palm, and now are able to see a bit better. 6-1=5. You throw open the chest, and gaze, or try to, at the goodies inside. You're still somewhat blind, and can't see very clearly, though.

Get up. Keep looking.
4. You get up. 1. Something, somehow, blinds you temporarily, though.

Before. So currently, the only way to deal loads of damage is to get the glass shard, the stick and the strings, and combine them into a spear. I wonder if the players'll trust each other that much, though...

It seems he can't carry more than one object though, with other side effects yet to be revealed. Constitution seems to rule the early game though.

Well, look at it like this, if you are in a new area then you'll most likely automatically look around unless you are interrupted. Now, it's fine to make us look around for the cool stuff but at the very least things that you can notice just by taking a look from twenty feet away (or the other side of the area) shouldn't need a roll. Unless this was one of the goofy more minimalist games where making rolls for everything is more acceptable.

Looking around is a free action from what I can remember, though, so you should be able to do it while doing something else, provided you don't get interrupted. I recall taking 2 actions per turn with one being looking around.

On the other hand, overlooking something in a cage or one of those arch walkways is quite high, especially if you're in the middle of combat with murderous people, especially while wielding a giant hammer.

+1 to abstracted surroundings/the GM wroth bandwagon. Mentioning 'cages' is fine if we have to make a proper look to see what's inside them. Weapon racks vs what's in them, columns & pits but not the spikes that adorn them, that kind of thing. We don't have (complete) tunnel vision after all.

Yeah, in the next bout, this'll be more hunger game-ish, in that you'll start somewhere with other players, there will be chests there, along with scattered on the map, and a Deathmatch will start when I see fit.
Another pro-tip, by the way: When using magical thingies, you generally use SP, MP or whatever the hell else is present in the game.
