Wands Race II

Welcome to Wands Race II, the world of magic and salt.

Backstory.
It has been 10 years since the conclusion of Wands Race I. The people who stayed on Forenia, loyal to the Sultanking, united into a singular nation, while those who left in the Vault have formed their own faction. The Vault is now returning to Forenia, and it looks as hostilities shall resume.

The people who fled Forenia after the first Wands Race.

So, I said I'll do this. So, I'm doing it.

This is a continuation of the first one, found here http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=163275.msg7394357#msg7394357

I'm gonna do some polls to help me get a feel of what type of gameplay you wall want.

Let the Polls begin.

PRELUDE: There will be a prelude which is to simulate the time between part 1 and 2. Both sides will have decisions and research opportunities during this time. I'll get to forenia after I do the vaulter polls.

Catification poll:
1 = spent a lot of time on complete eradication. +2 research bonus for prelude.
2 = spent a moderate amount of time on stopping progress. +4 research bonus for prelude
3 = spent a moderate amount of time on reversing the effects. +3 research bonus for prelude. +1 for genetic modififcation rolls involving felines.
4 = Be the cat. +???

DF Modding / How to add syndrome to inorganic material

I'm trying to add a syndrome to an inorganic material (a metal). How would I do it? I want it to be triggered by drinking it. (the metal will have a low melting point). I want the syndrome to cause dizzyness and increased speed, if possible.

All help appreciated!

DF Modding / Crash on trying to launch fortress mode [DF4S]

Hi, as the title says, i crash when I try to launch fortress mode with this mod http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=160947.msg7202284#msg7202284 version 2.0. Any help? The instalation is a bit different than most mods, completely replacing the raws and overwiting the data folder.

Now onto crash details.

-generating world goes fine.
-arena mode goes fine too
-adventure mode works too.
- upon loading fortress mode, the calendar makes it to the end, where it freezes and crashes.
- v 43.05, 64 bit, linux,  and v 43.03 linux/windows 7, if that makes a difference.

All help appreciated

Hello!
Welcome to the fourth iteration of Dwarf Fortress From Scratch!
You may have heard of this before. Basically, it is a mod that removes all most vanilla raws and replaces them with user defined ones. Anyone can contribute.
The previous three iterations died off because sharing and accessing files was complicated, which is why we now have GitHub to do that! Here's a link!

Changelog

-v0.4 fixed bugs, added necrobees and other things I forgot.
-v0.3.0 - Fortress mode works. Missing inorganics caused problems. Thanks to milo christianen for temporary raw replacement.
-v0.2.0 - Adventure mode should work. At least it doesn't crash instantly.
-v0.1.2 - typo fixes, removed some vanilla lines.
-v0.1.1 - a bugfix that corrected left feet to be on the left side
-v0.1 - first release!


Note
I am not good at this, at keeping up threads and stuff, but I think it would be a shame for this to die off, therefore, I do what I can.

Note on 32 and 64 bitness
I saw this pop up a few times. the same raw and data files work for both versions! also 43.03 works too.

DF Modding / Help with Syndromes!

I would like to make a syndrome, but I'm not sure how.

I want it so this rock, called [INORGANIC:MEH] has a syndrome that causes mild paralysis when ingested ( I will make meh cookies)

Any help? I tried the wiki but I couldn't get my head around it.

DF Modding / Dfhack - gamemode command

First of all, sorry if this is the wrong place.

Can someone give me a tutorial on the gamemode command from dfhack? I want to get an adventurer into the fort, change to fort mode. It'll be nice, but not neccessary, if I could unretire the adventurer later.

Masterwork DF / Unretiring-help needed!

So I had a succubus fortress, retired all ok, took an adventurer there and retired too, but when I try to unretire the fort, It always comes with dwarves and the succubi disappear. Anyway to fix that? I thought DFhacks gamemode command, to change from adventurer to fort mode, but I don't know how.

Edit: It always reclaims instead of unretiring...

Life Advice / Help with trying to stop cheating.

I have a slight problem. It's that I can't stop myself in cheating sometimes. I have a lot of school stuff to do online but I always end up doing something else. This gets me in trouble and I usually get a few days ban on doing non school stuff on my computer. And I can't stop. I know this is going to end badly but I keep on doing it. I just can't stop myself.and it's so stupid. Like I could've waited half an hour but no.

 Any advice?
