Unarmed Weaponry

I was just thinking, Unarmed is just another weapon skill, right? So, if you made knuckles or claws set as [SKILL:UNARMED], they should grab those and get to fightan, right?

Nope. Unarmed is specifically used for unarmed combat. Only specific skills have weapons assigned.

However, if you wield such a weapon in adventure mode, then fighting with it will indeed utilize the skill.

There's no UNARMED skill. WRESTLER may be.

No, at least now there is UNARMED skill, not WRESTLER. The fact that it also governs wrestling doesn't change the fact that the tag for it is UNARMED. In the next version it is probably already changed though.

Also there's a question especially to you: how did you know some tags like STICK_CHANCE which are not on vanilla items? EXE scoping?

Also is there a chance to get UNARMED type weapon if you pick high enough wrestler skill for your adventurer?

EXE scoping, yes, same way we found pretty much everything that's not in vanilla.
A lot of item tokens for reactions and such, for example.

No, WRESTLING and UNARMED are two completely separate things AFAIK.

Yeah, I tried to play with it and the entity doesn't get another skill but it doesn't give you a weapon if you pick high wrestling either.

I would use KNIFE for claws and other such weapons (eg. katars) simply for lack of a better skill. Surprisingly, when choosing skills, if the entity has a knife weapon, Knife User is a skill you can add points to.

Yeah, I just checked the raws and felt a little stupid when I realized that. But it does say Knife User on skill distribution, so that might have been what threw me off.

A dagger is held and used in a significantly different manner from a katar.

Personally, I like the idea of fist weapons, because that's my preferred style IRL.(Knives being a close second, and even then, I use them with a Punch style.)

Hmm... Based on that, I'd argue all knives with a slashing edge should be given the [UNARMED] tag.

Yes, but it is also the closest relative skill. Anything else seems even... stranger.

Honestly, what would be helpful would to be able to mod in new skills and weapon classes.

It's bound to happen.
Just quite probably not for a very long time.
It'll probably come along at the time we get access to the menus of every workshop.
