It'll be wallstreetbets.jpow or something until the SEC puts a kill order on all of them. They will then buy stock in the mercenary companies sent to kill them.

Someone with more skill than I needs to make a Bernie meme out of this somehow.

AOC has tweeted on it https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1354536220110577664 and WSB got hyped up about it: https://old.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/l6fr34/we_got_a_shoutout_bros_gme/

I really should sleep instead of posting here, it's like 3:45 central european time and I woke up like at 9.

There's now 3.2M members of r/wallstreetbets in total at this point. I think the average investment amount of the members is at least $1000. Quite possibly more. That's already 3.2B dollars. They're like a huge retail investors' hedge fund now. It's like they accidentally unionized into a working class investors' union and are just now discovering their power.

Fucked up 21st century version of Tulip bulbs. Yay capitalism!

But do you think this may be a good thing?

Well, yes... But there will be big bailouts which further highlight systematic problems, and legislation enacted to protect investors from such future risks. So, short term a brilliant middle finger, but long term only a lever for the establishment to further entrench.

Yeah that source material link was priceless.

It's like the "establishment" can't actually see that it really is all just smoke and mirrors, not based on any kind of reality, and people figuring out how to play the actual game, not the game as it's advertised, they can't figure it out.

Sadly the entire economy is this same kind of "there's the real economy, and then the economy that's advertised" situation....

The popular Robinhood brokerage stepped in today to restrict buying of shares for Gamestop and other meme stocks and pretty much tanked the price. People are MAD

Isn't that illegal obstruction though?  If the stocks are available for purchase, why restrict the purchase?

Isn't there currently more shorted shares than real shares? (which in itself is questionably legal)

Big hedgefunds shorted 140% of Gamestop's available shares which is why the stock is in this position in the first place. Reddit/4chan/et all caught wind and forced a short squeezze

Also now there's bipartisan condemnation of Robinhood's antics
AOC, Ted Cruz, Rashida Talib, Don Trump jr, Ja Rule all on the same page with this

The REAL hilarious thing, would be for the people doing the stock hold operation to inherit greater than 51% interest in Gamestop, and thus **ALSO** gain controlling vote powers over the board.

Make a NEW subreddit for THAT.

(throw in American Airlines, and AMC theaters)
