Title: Dumb question: remove weapon?
Post by: Kastrol Aslaasri on October 20, 2011, 05:42:57 pm
Hello to all!

I have a very dumb question.... how do I remove a weapon? I tried with the "strip" command y the Equip window, but it only work on clothes....
So, there's a way to remove an equiped weapon? I can replace it with something like a spraycan or guitar I guess, but I want to remove it completely.

Thanks a lot!

Sorry about my bad english ._.

"Press a number to drop that Squad member's conservative weapon"

Don't worry, it took me about 30 seconds the first time

(usually I understand UI elements instantly, Dwarf Fortress is the only game that has given me a challenge :P)

Don't feel bad, the interface is universally regarded as lousy.

Yes, that does mean that Space Aliens and Republicans also agree that the interface is lousy.  Although the Space Aliens are more likely to be heard publicly admitting to playing the game.

It also means the people who make the game agree the interface is lousy. I think Tarn Adams agrees with this, I certainly do.

You know what I'd really love? A "wait until someone comes along" option...

There is one, just wait on a tile (S key).

Yeah, I know. I mean, a keypress that would duplicate the effect of repeatedly pressing or holding down the S key until a random encounter came up. For that matter, it'd be cool to have fast movement--walk until you see something interesting (loot, encounter, door, wall, etc.). A common way to do this is to have Shift + the movement key be the "run" option. So Shift+S would be "stand around until something interesting happens".
