General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

My Master's Thesis defense is tomorrow. I've slept very little, and will only get <= eight hours today. Also a big point in that defense will be working around a flaw in the thesis I submitted.

And I only got sixty minutes. Welp.

Should be called a Scandinavian Blanche, what with how much snowy landscape they're showing and all.

In summary, we demonstrated that human urine is an attractive electron source for solar cofactor regeneration and redox biocatalysis.

At some point it's just the Onion version of Joe Biden, over and over to infinity.

That reminds me, I actually wrote an article about the history cabbage for my university's student newspaper. Pretty interesting stuff, and an enjoyable read to boot, if I may flatter myself. The latter was made easier of course by the fact that it was essentially one big joke about an elder statesman that had just died. But still.

Only cabbage I've ever eaten was kimchi. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't repeat it.

My preferred greens are spinach, turnip greens, or boiled kale.
... you do realize that kale is a type of cabbage, right?

You should just go back to calling cabbage cole.
Crap, I just now understood why it's called cole slaw...

Probably just a go-to alternative, no? Also it's important to note that the Shah, while incredibly brutal, actually undertook major reforms and modernized the country. There's far from nothing to be had there if you've got a selective memory.

Also somewhere (I think in the NYT) it said this was a much more rural affair than the Green Revolution, which could well be a very important sign.

I haven't heard much in the way of SWATting out of, say, Germany, despite hearing that their police are just as brutal if not more-so than ours.
That information is about seventy years out of date.

Except for that one time a couple years ago that they set a refugee on fire in his holding cell.

A BDSM-inclined friend of mine once thought of something different when I was using the abbreviation for cognitive behavioral therapy. I cannot get the association out of my head.
Well now everyone wants to know what it was. You can't leave us hanging like that!
It's easy to google and the first two words are against forum rules. The third one is 'torture'.

A strategy designer instead of the preset ones would be nice. Unlock additional conditions, actions, and greater allowed algorithm size.

So... next to nothing.
What if they, um, bring new ground with them?

So let me ask the obvious question: Could the Dreamers now sue Comey?

I am fully in favor of killing six billion demons. However only about 62,979,636 people voted for Trump. We may have to start a breeding program.
