Title: It's Bigly! It's Yuge! It's Monsters are You(ge)!
Post by: Rethi-Eli on January 10, 2017, 01:53:23 pm
Ah, the nerds among us we all know how good it feels to imagine yourself as a hero slaying an evil dragon or a vicious troll. But what would it feel like to be that dragon, and roast the hero? You'll find out if you play Monsters are You!

Now, this works just like any other RTD for the most part, besides the fact that I use a random number generator that generates a number between 1 and 100.

Less than 1 = You fail, trip on a rock, and fall flat on your face into a bed of poisonous thorns. The rash caused by the thorns swells up, and your eyes are forced shut.
1 - 5 = You fail, trip on a rock, and fall flat on your face.
6 - 15 = You fail and trip on a rock.
16 - 35 = You miss.
36 - 50 = You hit, but it has little effect.
51 - 60 = You strike a glancing blow, wounding your opponent.
61 - 75 = You hit your opponent squarely.
76 - 85 = You hit your opponent squarely, and follow up with a kick.
86 - 90 = You deliver a serious blow to your opponent, and they stagger back.
91 - 100 = You deliver a serious blow to your opponent, sending them flying. They strike a nearby boulder with a resounding crash, shattering their armor and rendering them stunned, if not unconscious.
More than 100 = You deliver a serious blow to your opponent, sending them flying. They strike a nearby boulder with a resounding crash, shattering their armor and knocking them out, if not outright killing them.

Here's the synopsis.

You're what most people would call a monster, an outcast from civilization. You spend your days in the secluded wilderness, shunned by society for whatever strange feature you may have. This can continue no longer. You're nearing starvation, and the human towns sprawling out everywhere are driving you further into the constantly receding wilds.

Goal and game mechanics: Your main goal is to be happy, healthy, and have enough food to eat. You can do this in any number of ways, ranging from reveling in the destruction of human cities to driving off other monsters and becoming an accepted part of society. A winner is announced when a player's happiness reaches 25/10. Increase your happiness by sleeping, eating tasty food, and sleeping somewhere warm, as well as doing fun stuffs. Your happiness decreases when your hunger falls below 4/10, when you are injured or captured, and when you experience something uncomfortable, such as sleeping exposed to the elements. When your happiness reaches 0/10, you risk going insane each turn. Being happy may give you bonuses to you your rolls, and similarly, being unhappy may penalize you. When your hunger reaches 0/10, you will start starving, and lose lots of happiness. When starving, you have major penalties to your rolls, and you have a chance of dying every turn. When your hunger reaches -5/10, your chance of dying is 100%. When you are overfull, you may receive penalties to some rolls.

If your hunger and happiness exceed 10 at the start of a new turn, they will be reduced back to 10.

Types of playable characters

Dragon

Description: Dragons are ancient and powerful beasts, with knowledge and power greater than that of most humans. They are massive, but still retain the ability of flight via minor magical abilities. Dragons can be quite different, being slender or fat, having differing numbers of legs, or even having none at all. All dragons, however, share a love for one thing - loot. A dragon's happiness is often tied to the size of its hoard. However, when a dragon's greed gets the better of it, it may go on a destructive rampage, razing whole towns simply to have a go at their treasury. Did I mention that most dragons can breathe fire? Yeah. Most dragons can breathe fire.

Necromancer

Description: Necromancers are powerful wizards that use destructive spells and necromancy to crush their foes. They command huge armies of undead thralls, using them as an expendable, easily replenishable fighting force. Some necromancers lead cults, using their forces to take over cities and turn them into temples for their cult. Necromancers are truly a force to be reckoned with. Necromancers have a "horde size" stat, which determines the size of their undead army.

Giant

Giants and giantesses are some of the less abhorred "monsters", simply being humans of enormous size. They possess great strength, and intelligence on par with that of a human scholar. Giants are a dying race, having been pushed out of their native lands many times by human settlers and armies, and murdered by superstitious and secular humans. Giants are not only physically powerful - they innately possess earth magic, being able to manipulate the ground, and can learn more magic easily. They also gain happiness more easily.

Vampire

Description: Vampires are extremely dangerous, being faster, stronger, and smarter than the average human. What makes vampires different from most "monsters" is their ability to blend in, as they appear as normal humans for the most part. They feed on the blood of humans, elves, and dwarves, and slip back into the crowd. The most notorious power of vampires, however, is to be able to turn any other human into a vampire with a single non-lethal bite. Beware, however - unwilling victims of conversion may use their newfound vampiric abilities to kill the vampire that turned them. Vampires have a fatal weakness to sunlight and the metal silver, but have a resistance to everything else. Vampires can also turn into a bat, making them hard to see and attack. This transformation takes time, however, and leaves the vampire in a vulnerable state mid-transformation.

Guys, if you want to rechoose your race due to the changes, that's quite fine. Of course, I already quite like your characters, but it's your choice. If you're sticking with your character, please change their sheets accordingly.

READY

That was rather quick! Very well.

Turn 1 has started! Time: Dusk

Damien Vos

You look around. The sun has just set, and you hunger. You stretch your stiff limbs, and head towards the nearest human vale town, Turholm. You make it to the outskirts of the village and stop, wondering what course of action you should take. It seems like everyone except a smattering of guards is asleep. This will be almost too easy.

Furorem

You roar with fury as you chase the last of the thieves out of your cave. You empty your back-bowl, and let out an angry puff of smoke as only a handful of copper coins tumble out. You need to build a hoard, and fast. Three human towns lay nearby. Turholm is the poorest, so it's not exactly a prime target. It doesn't even have a treasury. Pinefall, the closest, has a huge treasury, but guards are everywhere. You don't know much about Erul, the town farthest away from you cave, but all reconnaissance you have done shows that there are few guards, and an ample market lies within the city. If you feel more like hunting, the nearby wilds are filled with wildlife, and the river behind your cave is a salmon spawning ground. You have free reign over the night.

Sceledrus

You groan. Your last skirmish with the Silverblades; a faction of elite soldiers who fight vampires, lycanthropes, and necromancers, left your horde at a mere six undead thralls. You no longer have a place to live, nor any magical artifacts. One of your skeletons clacks its teeth and collapses into the dirt, scattering into a pile of bones. Well, now you have five thralls. You're quite hungry, and in no way prepared for an attack on a city. A handful of berry bushes lie around the forest where you are, and a constantly traveled road is to the East. Surely, your horde could use a few additions. You have quite a few options right now.

Sasha

You find a cave large enough to house you easily, and crawl in. You're quite hungry, and you have nothing but a handful of human coins (which you can barely even see). Your cave is near Pinefall, a sprawling human city where the "monster hunters" that brutally murdered almost everyone you knew are based. In reality, these monster hunters are nothing more than a mob of scared and toothless peasants who want recognition and fame. You steel your nerves, and think about what to do next. There's a cottage not far from your cave, and the lights are on. A river not far from your cave is full of salmon. The outskirts of Pinefall are full of grain silos, which have enough corn and wheat to last you a long time, but going near such a large city is a risky move. you ponder your options.

(I'm assuming that the undead thralls are the usually mindless type)

Order the thralls to gather berries as I find a hill and get the lay of the land

You command your thralls to harvest berries for you as you search for high ground. The place is flat, but you climb a tree to get a good view of the surrounding land. A river lays to your South, flowing Westward, there's a road to the Northeast, a city due North, and a small cottage far to the West, a little dot of light from your perspective. You return from your expedition to find a pile of succulent berries. While not exactly filling, the berries are refreshing, despite smelling faintly of decaying flesh.

+1 hunger!
+1 happiness!

Go to the river and catch some salmon

You head to the river and use your huge hands like a net to catch a handful of the fish. Despite your distaste for doing so, you eat the fish raw, due to not being able to light a fire. It isn't actually entirely unpleasant, and you're pretty sure that the humans sometimes eat raw fish as a delicacy. So there's that at least.

+3 hunger!

"Heheh.. so little measures taken against monsters like myself." Damien's leg muscles tighten as he prepares to dash.

Sprint as quietly as possible (hopefully I gain speed for being a vampire) and attempt to scale the wall. Optimally, there won't be many guards near my position.

You get ready to spring when a huge form blots out the moons above. A dragon, smoke curling from its mouth, soars over Turholm, spewing jets of flame into the night.

I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE, NIGHT-THIEVES!

You realize that this is the perfect opportunity to slip in unnoticed. All the guards are preparing for a dragon attack - the village is practically defenseless! You cackle with evil glee as you slip over the wall and dash into the shadows. You're taken by surprise, however, when a guard comes running at you. You prepare to fight when you hear him shout,

"What are you doing? Evacuations are that way!"

Not wanting to blow your cover just yet, you jog in the direction the guard pointed to. You stop when you see two small children huddled in a dark alleyway. They're both crying, and one lets out a little scream as another burst of flame hurtles through the night sky. Then they see you.

Their screaming amplifies tenfold.

+4 hunger

"RAAAAAAAAH, STINKING THEIVES! I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE, YOU PIECES OF STERCORE, TRYING TO STEAL FROM MY HOARD YOU FOOLS!" Take my rage out on Turholm!

You soar over the human town, spurting fire from your nostrils to illuminate the area below. For good measure, you set a few barns ablaze before searching for the accursed thieves that stole from you. Sure enough, the two rogues who stole your gold are trying to leave the village. With a single downwards swoop, you snatch them both in your talons. You could burn them alive, or perhaps drop them from hundreds of feet in the air, or maybe just crush them with your massive tail. First, however, you need to find out where they put the Eye of the Wolf, the shining emerald that was worth fifty times it's weight in gold. It weighed eight pounds. You return to your cave, toss the thieves inside, and block the only exit with your massive bulk.

You're going to have quite a bit of fun with these two.

+2 happiness!

Turn 2 has started! Time: Dead of night

Sceledrus, Sasha, Furorem, and Damien all lose 1 hunger.

((should we be keeping track of our sheets?))

Head north to the city and find a graveyard to rise corpses out of. I'm going to need troops.

You head due North, ordering your thralls to stay behind. One of them, a skeleton that tends to act strangely, tries to follow you, but you order it again to stay, and it rejoins the rest of the undead. It's almost as if it was upset, you realize.

When you reach the city, the first thing you notice is the high number of refugees. They're everywhere. You ask a city guard why you're seeing so many homeless people huddled in warm corners.

"Ah, well, the world's gone to shit, it has. Kanthaa's full of cave monsters and muggers, goblins are pillaging in the Northern Wilds, and a dragon attacked Turholm, a nearby town, just a few hours ago! Stay safe out there."

You thank the guard and surreptitiously sneak over to a graveyard. You can't make your horde too large, as you don't want to attract unnecessary attention, but at the same time you don't want to come out of this with a whole one or two extra thralls. All the entrances and exits of the city are manned by guards...

You're going to need to make a distraction.

You raise 13 undead before you're drained.

"Think, Sceledrus, think... how do you get out of here?" you mutter to yourself.

"WHERE DID YOU PUT MY SHINY, AND WHERE DID YOU PUT MY BRIGHTS?" Do whatever it takes to make them tell me where they hid the shiny and the brights.

Spoiler: Translation (click to show/hide)

((Same question as killerhellhound.))

You see that your scare tactics have the intended effect as the two thieves cower in fear.

"Uh... well... Mr. Dragon, sir... are you gonna eat us?"

"THAT ALL DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU TELL ME WHERE MY SHINY IS."

"Well..." mutters the other rogue, eyes wide with fear. "We m-might have sold the b-big gem-"

"YOU HAVE SOLD MY SHINY? I WILL TEAR YOU LIMB FROM LIMB! WHO DID YOU SELL IT TO?"

"W-w-we s-sold it t-to... err... a man in a r-red c-c-coat, he was l-like a wizard or s-something... he disappeared!"

You roar with fury. The Eye of the Wolf has magical properties, giving whoever holds it enhanced strength. Many wizards came to your cave, offering countless powerful artifacts far stronger than the Eye in exchange for the Eye itself, and yet you declined. There was something about the Eye, perhaps a hidden magic. For now, however, you have the two thieves to deal with as you please. You're quite hungry, however, and perhaps you should eat instead of exacting revenge. Of course, there's always the option to do both at once...

-1 happiness[/i]

"Mm.. The young ones' blood is always so sweet. I'll have a bit more before I call it a night."

Do just that. Prowl for more vulnerable targets to drain in the confusion and turmoil of the dragon attack.

Although the dragon attack has ended, the panic has just begun. Volunteer fire squads ineffectually hurl buckets of water at burning homes and barns, while the evacuating villagers scramble to get out in case the dragon returns. You stealthily weave in and out of cover, silent as a wolf eyeing a flock of sheep. You finally select your targets - an old man and a young girl. The man is obviously crippled. One of his legs drags through the dirt as the girl supports him and carries him to safety. They're stragglers, and nobody will even see them die. With the speed of lightning, you leap on the old man, and drain him before the girl can even react. Blood... blood everywhere... power.

+2 hunger!

You consider draining the girl, but your thirst is quenched. The girl runs away, but you easily catch up with her. With a hard blow to the head, you knock her out. You exit the burning village, carrying the unconscious form of the girl with you. You're going to have to find shelter before the sun rises...

You summon a fire elemental. It's powerful, and as a novice necromancer, you have a hard time bending it to your will. Luckily, fire elementals are already predisposed to destruction, so it doesn't take much effort to make it set a few unimportant guard posts ablaze. You sneak out while the guards battle the elemental, leading your horde to freedom.

Say, you're really... tired...

You collapse from exhaustion.

The screams of the thieves as you kill them are like music to your ears.

+3 hunger!
+1 happiness!

Spoiler: Sasha (click to show/hide)

If it's still nighttime, continue sleeping. If not, go back to the river and catch breakfast.

You stretch, and head out to the river to catch some breakfast. You catch some more fish, and make a meager meal out of them. It's actually quite tasty after you remove the scales and tails!

+3 hunger!
+1 happiness!

"Kehehehe. Looks like I have a snack for later."

Sprint full-speed in search of shelter from the sunrise.

You run in search of a place to escape the sun, carrying the girl as if she weighed nothing. You stumble upon a mud filled hole in the ground, barely large enough for you to squeeze in. Contrary to popular myth, sunlight isn't instantly fatal to vampires. When exposed to sunlight, a vampire weakens, and eventually dies from exhaustion. You're actually able to walk among the humans at day on overcast and foggy days, just not for prolonged periods, and not without frequent breaks in the shade. You toss the girl in the hole and then crawl in yourself. Vampires, like most creatures of magic, don't sleep. Instead, they enter a trance to conserve energy. You do just this, keeping a vigilant watch on the girl.

Dustan Hache, you've had over 24 hours to confirm. Although I don't want to do this (as a fellow Llamas with Hats Enjoyer), I am forced to give your spot to someone on the waitlist.

Turn 4 has started! Time: Morning
Everyone loses one hunger!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Hide the horde while I stumble into an inn and pay for a bed and meal

It takes you a while to find an inn that'll provide you with both a meal and a room for only 15 drachmas, but you're able to make a deal with an innkeeper after you explode his hat with a burst of lightning. Not exactly covert, but you were running out of options.

You wake up refreshed, and eat breakfast while the innkeeper stitches up his hat. It's filling!

+4 hunger!

Remain in trance, passing time til dusk. Make sure the girl doesn't try to do anything.

You conserve your energy, and enter a trance. The girl stirs, but doesn't wake up.

After looting their corpses, go on the hunt for their 'sister'. "Hehehe, this is going to be Fun..."

The thieves have nothing but cheap leather clothes and a handful of coins.
You get

Copper drachma x 13

You fly out to the village. When you arrive, the few people there start to flee.

"TELL ME WHERE THE SISTER OF THE NIGHT-THIEVES IS!"

One of the villagers informs you that she's missing, and her father was found dead last night, drained by a vampire. You growl. This is getting ridiculous. You fly off, wondering how you'll find a vampire.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Go check out the cottage

You head over to the cottage. With stealth surprising for your size, you crouch among a thicket of pines and observe the cottage. An old woman and a boy work together in a small garden to pick a number of strange looking flowers. The boy looks over in your general direction, and lets out a shout.

Stealth isn't exactly easy when you're 112 human feet tall.

You flash the boy a quick smile, hoping to show him that you don't mean any harm. This doesn't seem to help. He tugs on the old woman's dress and points to you. The old woman, without hesitating, walks right up to you, to the disbelief of both you and the boy.

"Can I help you, or are you just going to stare at me and my grandson all day?"

How awkward.

Turn 5 has started! Time: Afternoon-ish
Everybody except Damien loses one hunger!

ATHATH, you are re-waitlisted!
Coolrune, you have 24 hours to post an action before the next person in the waitlist goes!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Collect my horde and get to building a house in the woods I'll need a place to rest and study

You leave the city. Your horde already snuck out under your instructions, and you return to get the other five. Once your horde is fully assembled, you have them slog through the mud and construct a sort of shack out of sticks. It's not exactly a cabin, but it'll protect you from the wind and rain.

"VAMPIIIIIRE, WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Search for the vampire... AKA: Destroy everything blocking my view until I find him and the sister. Unless I can smell him. Then just smell him, and when I get there, ask to see if she had an jewels on her. Fun Fact: For Furorem, it is extremely rare for him to ask nicely!

You soar around the forest, setting trees ablaze. You finally exhaust yourself, and only then do you think. A vampire would live somewhere away from the sun, a cave or hole like your own... your search has become easier.

But not by much.

Caves are a common sight in the Eastern Lowlands of Indrus, the name the humans gave the Sacred Continent. They dot every plain, and pockmark the earth in places where receding glaciers carved holes in the ground. You don't find the vampire, but you do find a hibernating bear, which is a nice meal! It's a bit large, though.

Hunger is now at 12/10!

"Hm.. Feeling snackish."

Drain a bit of blood from the girl to keep my hunger in check.

You snap out of your trance, and grab the girl by the neck. Instantly, she wakes up and starts flailing. More from surprise than anything, you drop her, and she rushes for the exit. You easily catch her, and she bursts into tears. You liked her more when she was unconscious. You throw her roughly to the floor. Even you wince when her leg crunches and her kneecap is severely dislocated. At least she can't run now. You drain her slightly. She feebly fights back, but it's of no use.

Spoiler: Sasha (click to show/hide)

Well, um, I was just seeing who lived here. . . I-I don't mean any harm. . . ""

The old woman laughs.

"Curious little thing, aren't you? Well, I don't suppose little is the right word for you. Well, why don't you make yourself useful and help me and my grandson with the crops?"

You feel extremely awkward, but you help the old woman. It takes you about five minutes to uproot a whole patch of leeks, and to plow the ground after you finish. It isn't log until you finish. The old woman laughs.

"How kind of you! Last time one of your kind stopped by, he tried eating my grandson, so that's why he's acting so foolish around you. My name is Briar. What's yours, sweetie?"

"Uhh... my name is...

While you're trying in vain to find words that fit this... situation, the woman waves her hand at you and starts talking again.

"Not much of a chatter, eh? Well get back to your name, dearie. Since you helped, consider me your friend whenever you're in need. I may be old, but I can be more help that you might think! Off with you, now, you're trampling the wheat!"

You sheepishly apologize before returning to your cave. How strange. Your back aches a bit from the harvesting you did, and it took more energy than you thought it would...

"Look at that mess you made. Look. At. It. Do you think I like living in holes? No, I would rather have a more neat environment. Such is unlife. Nonetheless, you have bloodied my floor.. Why not finish the job?"

Drain the girl of all blood, viciously.

You advance upon the now crippled girl as she tries to straighten her leg.

"Look at that mess you made. Look. At. It. Do you think I like living in holes? No, I would rather have a more neat environment. Such is unlife. Nonetheless, you have bloodied my floor... Why not finish the job?"

"W-wait!" she says, wincing as her leg twitches. "Th-there's a cure! T-to being a v-vampire! Just... please...don't kill me..."

You chuckle at the pitiful sight. You decide to bluff for now, and see what the girl is saying.

"I know a lie when I hear one, girl."

"N-no! There's a wizard, w-with a gem, he thinks he can u-use it to cure all sorts of things, even being a v-vampire! It's a huge emerald, and it's magical!"

Interesting. You decide to bluff further, to see if you can get any more info.

"What makes you think I don't like being a vampire, girl? I have power, strength, and speed. People fear me, and I can use that fear. I am a god among men, I am the strongest of them all. I-"

"YOU MAY BE STRONG, VAMPIRE, BUT YOU ARE NOT THE STRONGEST."

You turn around and see the head of a dragon outside of your hole. You glare.

"Leave at once, dragon. We are not enemies. I have no quarrel with you."

"GIVE ME THE GIRL, VAMPIRE. SHE KNOWS WHO TOOK MY SHINY. I WILL RIP YOU TO SHREDS!

You know that you're partially immune to dragonfire, so you can fight it out with the beast. On the other hand, you'd be fighting over one human, a weak creature that occurs in abundance. But what if the girl is telling the truth... do you want to continue living like this, if you can even call it that?

What should you carry off?

You and your horde can carry a maximum weight of 15 units without risking the destruction of your thralls.

Chickens weigh 2 units (lay lots of eggs with a rooster around).
Roosters weigh 3 (needed if you want your chickens to lay eggs).
Pigs weigh 4 (bacon).

You back away from the city. You return to Pinefall, and approach the walls hesitantly. A few farmers gaze up at you as you stride towards the city gates, awestruck. It isn't long until the walls of the city (which barely come up to your waist) are swarming with guards.

"Stay back, foul beast!" shouts the captain.

"I mean you no harm..." you say, raising your eyebrows.

"Don't lie to me, giantess! Your kind and our kind are not meant to coexist! Leave, or I will be forced to fight you!"

You groan. You have a couple of options here, including but not limited to

Fuck it, just leave, this guy is obviously not listening
Try and convince the little bugger that you aren't a "beast"

But whatever, waste your thousands of years away like that if you want. Take the waste of a human.." Damien smirks as the muscles in his arm bulge noticeably. "IF YOU CAN CATCH HER!"

Damien attempts to throw the girl by the wrist in a frontward arc over the dragon, full-force.

You easily hurl her over the dragon, as far as you can.

See the next post for pretty much everything else.

Furorem seems amused. "I'm a fucking dragon. I have a giant fucking bowl on my back. I'm pretty damn sure I can catch her." Catch Her. And if she dies, MURDER THAT MOTHER FUCKING VAMPIRE!

You scramble backwards, and the girl lands in your bowl-thingy with a dull thud, followed by a scream and gasping.

"YOU'VE SEALED YOUR FATE, VAMPIRE. IT'S A MISTAKE TO BE THE ENEMY OF THE PRAEDAM CLAN."

You fly off, and return to your cave. You tilt your back, and the girl falls from your bowl on to a patch of moss. Only now do you see the extent of her injuries. Her right leg is broken, her ankle fractured, and her knee dislocated. Her left wrist, which the vampire flung her with, hangs limply, most likely out of place. Her teeth are clenched, and sporadic tremors run through her, sending her into another fit of pain. You steel your heart.

"WHERE IS MY SHINY?"

She doesn't answer. You pick her up in one claw, and look at her with one huge eye.

"I-i... uuh... it's... f-far South... tower..."

"I NEED TO KNOW MORE."

"W-white...aahh...oh god... white tower, l-lots of guards... top floor... wizard..."

The girl stops talking and starts crying when another tremor wracks her body. You have all the information you need.

"When in doubt, follow the setting sun."

You head West. Your horde follows close behind, groaning and shuffling. You make good headway, until you spot a caravan, surrounded by guards, traveling towards you. You duck and hide, but your horde isn't as quick to follow. You hear a shout from the caravan guards, and before you know it, your horde is under attack. There are at least 20 caravan guards, so you just watch as your horde is butchered, and their bodies mangled beyond recognition. You manage to reanimate one, but the rest are beyond salvaging.
You're also quite hungry.

Try to reason with them

You start to talk with the captain of the guard when a small crossbow bolt lodges itself in your shoulder. You wince and pluck it out. One marksman, crossbow shaking in his hands, stares at you, wide-eyed. You're rapidly losing patience.

"I'm no-"

You're interrupted when a volley of bolts shower upon you. Most of them bounce harmlessly off of your huge garments, but quite a few manage to embed themselves quite deep in your arms, which you're using to shield yourself from the barrage. You're angry, and start to leave, when a trebuchet on the wall flings a pot of scalding oil at you. It crashes against your left arm, singing your skin and showering sharp bits of ceramic everywhere. You lose your temper.

"THAT DOES IT!"

You grab the trebuchet and tear it in two, hurling the pieces of wood at a nearby ranch, caving in its roof. You then slam yourself into the wall surrounding the city. It holds, but the foundation shakes. The guards scream, one falls off and crashes through the roof of a house. You hurl yourself against the wall again, and it cracks. You do it again, and again, and again, until the wall is no more than a pile of rubble. You grab a handful of fleeing guards, as well as their annoying captain, and bring them with you back to your cave. You've calmed down now, and you feel a bit more in control, but you're still fuming. Most of the guards are keeping quiet, but the captain incessantly hurls insults at you. You sigh, and run a hand through your hair. Why is it that these stupid humans constantly give you nothing but trouble?

"Nom Nom." Eat her, then go in the direction she said, looking for the white tower. When we find it, try to diplomacy because I'm in a good mood.

You drop the girl on the ground.

"Y-you're... going to let me go"? she asks, smiling gratefully.

You chuckle.

"THAT'S NOT ON THE MENU. YOU, HOWEVER, ARE!"

The girl's smile turns to a scream as you lower your maw. She tries to scramble away, and even shoves her kneecap back into place with a groan, but it's no use. You toy with her, giving her hope that she may escape, but crushing all hope when you grab her right before she would have scrambled out of the exit.

"PLEASE!" she screams, crying hysterically.

You grab her by the neck with your jaws, shake your head, snapping her spine, and swallow. However, moments later, you feel a strange object in your mouth, followed by intense white-hot pain. You start coughing, and the girl emerges, one of your teeth, root and all, in her hand, raised like a dagger. You roar, and a gout of dragonflame spews at your. Your eyes widen in disbelief when she emerges unharmed. She then darts out of the cave, moving swiftly for a human, especially one with a broken leg.

"GRAAAAAH!"

A trickle of blood leaks from your mouth, and you wince as you run your tongue over your tooth wound. Rage fills you.

As I dont have anything to cook with I'll take a cow, two chickens and a rooster

You start off with the animals when you hear a shout. A farmer, wielding a scythe, is chasing you, screaming about necromancers. He cuts the head off one of your zombies before you vaporize him with a reflexive blast of lightining. That's when three more farmhands step out, wielding various deadly farming implements. You turn around, and see a number of the city guards heading your way, no doubt drawn by the lightning blast. You immediately engage in a fierce battle, but you're routed. You watch as your horde dwindles in size until only four undead remain. You keep running, sending one other zombie to distract the mob. Eventually you escape, but now you only have three thralls. Bob sighs. At least you have some animals...

You yelp when a dark form collides into you. You stand up, and see a horribly injured girl groaning, prone on the ground.

"Gods..." you mutter, looking at her wounds.

"Night is my domain, so let's go teach some mortals the definition of utter terror." Damien chuckled a bit at the thought of a vampire hunting people purely for entertainment, but he was soon to do it.

Find a relatively weak human settlement and terrorize it, slaying any mortal that stands in my way. Drain some blood from a victim or two while I'm at it.

You head out, and you grin with pleasure when you see a handful of unarmed civilians, huddling in the dark in a shanty.

"Why do these fools always make it so easy?" you mutter, chuckling to yourself.

You calmly stride up to them, making no effort to conceal yourself. You grab one by the neck, when you feel a terrible pain all over your face, like flame hotter than a sun. You howl and stagger back. Silver dust. The "refugees" all draw silver rapiers, and a number of others exit the surrounding forest, clad and armed with silver. Their masks (which are of course made out of silver) gleam in the moonlight. You're surrounded. These are Silverblades, the most prestigious night-creature hunters out there. Thousands of vampires have met their end at the tip of a Silverblade's sword.

"Well, look what he have here? I think it's time to have some fun, orders of the Inquisitor!"

You break into a run, but a net is spread in front of you. You crash to the ground, but tear your way out of the net a second later. You scream in pain as a silver-tipped arrow lodges itself in your back. Your skin smokes as if burned. You stagger away, blinded and injured.

It's an extremely dry night, and everyone loses not one, but 2 hunger!

"It didn't have to be like this. . . I just wanted to be friends. Why couldn't you just hear me out?"

Talk with my captives. Try to get them to accept an apology.

You try talking some sense into the captives. Most of them either refuse to listen to you, or just rock back and forth, obviously scared out of their minds.

"Gods, how many times must I tell you that I have no intention of hurting you? If I really wanted to kill you, I'd do it now."

Unfortunately, this has the opposite of the intended effect. Instead of comforting the captives, your bit at the end about killing them only makes them even more anxious and riled up. One of them dashes for the exit. You can't let any escape, as they'll most likely return with an army. You snatch the running captive, and swear when he slips out of your grasp.

"I don't want to hurt you! Please, just hear me out!"

You grab the fleeing guard, but curse as you feel a crunch and hear a scream. You examine him, and realize with a start that you completely crushed his arm, by sheer accident. You, panicking, drop him a good thirty feet to the ground, where he hits the rocky floor with a sickening crunch, and ends up as a mangled corpse. This doesn't do much to ease the fears of the rest of the captives, who are now all begging for mercy and the like. All, that is, except the captain, who is still calling you a demonic cur and screaming insults with renewed vigor.

Damnit.

"NOONE OUTSMARTS ME, GET BACK HERE YOU FILTHY HUMAN SCUM!!!!" Chase her, causing as much chaos as possible at the same time. When we catch her, stomp her into nothingness. If anyone is near her... well I'm in a rage, so they'll get killed and eaten.

You go berserk, and completely blank out. You aren't able to comprehend much, but you do think that you're tearing apart a tree in a blind rage. You spew flames everywhere, creating a raging inferno around you. You see a human loping towards you, and crush it, thinking it to be the girl. You're disappointed when it's just a rotten corpse, reanimated some way or another.

Edit Hearing the rampage and seeing the burnt clothes grab the girl and fine a hiding spot and send a zombie to make a distraction through barraling through the under growth

The girl tries to speak coherently while she cries. She tells you that she was taken by a vampire, where her leg and wrist were broken, and then taken again by a dragon, who snapped her collarbone and tried eating her alive. You gasp at the severity of her wounds. None of them are fatal, but the pain that they must render her must be terrible. You feel your thrall get crushed by something as you bandage her wounds and Bob makes a splint for her leg. She eventually passes out, crying and bleeding. Although you don't want to admit it, you don't think she has much longer to live.

Spoiler: Banta the Necromancer (click to show/hide)

Summon Lightning on that caravan. Multiple times, if necessary.

"Pricks."

You shout and wave, attracting the attention of the caravan guards. You feign a limp towards them. As they draw near, you sneer and throw aside your walking stick. Ghostly white lightning arcs from your hands, rendering the two nearest guards nothing more than two piles of ash. The rest rush you, weapons raised. You continue the barrage of lightning, until the guards are either subdued or they flee. You trek over to the caravan they were guarding, and groan when you find only books. You search through them, looking for something that can sell for a decent amount of money. What you find instead is much better.
You get

Novice Aeromancer's Handbook

Surely there are a few spells in there that you can add to your repertoire. You also partake in some of the wagon driver's rations. Surely he won't be in need of them, considering that you fried him.

+4 hunger!

"You can run, vampire, but we have a new weapon, one that can destroy every vampire in the world! Your days are numbered, beast!"

Two more silver arrows whistle by your ears as you dash away. Despite your wounded back, you're able to put some distance between you and the Silverblades. You return to your abode after erasing your tracks. You wonder what the Silverblade said about a "new weapon" means.

Turn 10 has started!
All of you except Mallos and Banta haven't slept in a long time, and lose 2 hunger instead of one!

You find nothing but a small deer. It's a light snack for a dragon your size, but better than nothing. Barely.

Get moveing carrying the girl to the nearest town when I get there leave the horde behind, hand the girl over asking the gate guards to help her then leave the town far behind

You carry the girl to Pinefall, leaving your horde behind for obvious reasons. You reach the outer gates, but stop when you see the destruction wrought on the city walls. They're reduced to nothing more than a pile of rubble in a certain huge swath. You hesitate only for a second before rushing towards the city. The eight crossbow wielding guards at the gate initially stop you, but then see the girl and take the makeshift stretcher.

"Gods, this is terrible! We'll take the girl to the physician immediately."

Six of the guards rush off, bearing the girl away, and the other two thank you for your assistance. You hope that none of them recognize you from your earlier skirmish before running off, returning to the horde. On the way back you stop in a grove of wild strawberries and pick a few plump fruits.

+2 hunger!
+1 happiness!

Then, sit down on a pile of books and peruse the new handbook to Aeromancy. Look for any spells that might pertain to flight, or at least flinging one's body in a direction rapidly.

You try raising the charred piles of ash that mark the resting places of two of the guards. Unfortunately, the piles of ash only shift about a bit before exploding in a cloud of... more ash, you guess. Damnit. You sigh and start reading the book, skimming the pages to find something that actually pertains to an effective spell. Most of the spells here are simply about levitation, a magic you find thoroughly useful. Near the end of the book, however, you find a small section about the summoning of wind sprites. Although it isn't exactly what you're searching for, the spell will certainly suffice.

You learn a skill: Summon Wind Sprite - summons a wind sprite to assist you in any way you please. Binding lasts for approximately one hour.

You search through the book for anything else that's mildly useful, but toss it aside when you find nothing else of interest. You detachedly incinerate the book with a blast of white lightning before moving on.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Just kill them, bury them, and go to the river to get something to eat.

You roll your eyes at the amazing stupidity of your captives.

"Fine, have it your way. You've pestered me to no end, and I, for one, am quite done with it. When I'm done getting some food, I'll deal with you in the way you seem to want it."

You exit the cave after blocking the exit with a few uprooted trees, and search the river for something to eat. You catch nothing. It seems that mating season is over, and the salmon that once leaped out of the river every couple of minutes are now gone, more or less. You sigh and return to the cave. You're really quite pissed with these assenting guards. The moment you reenter the cave, you spot two of them trying in vain to run away. You immediately grab them and fling them against the wall, giving them a painless yet rather messy death. You repeat this process a few times, until only a handful of captives remain, screaming in terror and cowering.

You feel a twinge of guilt, but at the same time, you're actually liking this. Revenge is so much better when it's against the stupid.

However, you're guiltless when you pick up the Captain of the Guard, who is now begging for mercy. He really had it coming when he called you a 'demonic murder-whore'. I mean, he could have at least used a better insult. You smash him, and disgustedly wipe your hands off on your garments, which consist of a rough burlap tunic and itchy horseskin trousers. You look at the last four guards, who are now in hysterics. You just can't bring yourself to kill them. Perhaps they can be of use to you. For now, however, you're starving, and those grain silos outside Pinefall look better with every second. Of course, you could always try your luck hunting and foraging, although failure sounds pretty bad...

You consider your options, but you're so hungry you can barely think.

Turn 11 has started! Time: Midday
Everyone loses one hunger!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Raid the grain silos. It's better than starving.

You start to head towards the grain silos, when you double back and look at your four captives. Gods, you wish you had the guts to just smash the little imps right then and there.

All right, you guys saw what I did to your captain, right?

They nod.

I'm going on a trip right now, and you're coming along. If you don't, you're about to meet the same fate as your beloved leader.

You extend your hand to the ground. They hesitate before stepping onto it. They look just about ready to wet themselves. You head out to the outskirts of Pinefall, and reach the grain silos in no time. You start to pull one out of the ground when you hear shouting. You see a mob of people, ranging from knights in steel armor to toothless axe-wielding peasants. They're all running towards you. You figure that there must be a bounty on your head. You tug on the grain silo again, but it refuses to budge. It's probably dwarven in origin - all stonecrafts this large are usually purchased from the mountainfolk. Stone is particularly heavy, and you give up on trying to haul the grain silo. You start just trying to smash a hole in it before the angry mob draws any closer. Unfortunately, dwarven masonry is generally extremely strong and menaces with spikes of microcline, and you barely make a crack in the polished microcline granite surface. You curse as the first member of the mob, a horseman with a spear, draws close to you.

If you want to live, I suggest you turn around and leave.

The horseman's eyes go wide, and he steers his mount away.

"The monster speaks!" he screams, driving his mount to go faster.

Of course you can speak. You muster one final punch at the grain silo, and drive it at the very top of the building.

Holy wot you just rolled a -14

Your fist bounces off of the silo and ricochets into your face. You stumble back, angry at nobody in particular, and try slamming into the silo. You miss it by a good few feet and propel yourself towards the mob. You fall right in front of a young squire, who is staring at you wide eyed. The mob cheers as they rush you. You release your captives, and watch as they run away. One of them even tries to get the mob to leave, insisting that you mean no harm, but her voice is drowned out by the shouts of the horde. You yelp when a sword is driven into your arm. Although it's only the size of a relative needle to you, it hurts a lot. You scramble away from the crowd, and close your eyes. You channel your rage and frustration into the ground, and watch as it bends to your will. A huge hill rises in front of the crowd, and falls down upon them, entombing a number of blood-frenzied peasants in the ground. The mob, however, regroups and charges once more. A number of the people manage to grab onto your clothes, and start driving their various weapons into you. You shout, and start brushing them off. More, however, start hurling spears and darts at you.

-3 hp!

You continue fighting, but the mob only grows as more treasure-seeking humans run at you. You summon a mountain to act as a barricade between you and the mob, but they simply scale over it, using their now high ground to leap at your head. You swat at them as one would wave at a cloud of gnats, smacking a few of them to fall out of the air to their deaths below. Most of them, however, either grab onto you or simply miss and fall at your feet. All of this for just a little bit of food! You look around, but escape seems impossible - the mob now rings around you. Pinefall is to your North, your cave to the South, and endless forest to the East and West. An eyecatching boulder lies just a few hundred meters North, and a ranch to the West. What should you do...

And you're so hungry!

-1 happiness!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

head home and get some sleep

You return to your abode and rest. When you awake, you feel refreshed. Bob faithfully waits for you, party hat at the ready.

+1 happiness!

Go back to my cave and sleep.

You return to your cave, but only sleep fitfully, not able to truly slumber while knowing your shiny is missing. Your Rage-o-meter decreases significantly, but you're not about to let some wizard steal your greatest treasure.

+1 happiness!

Spoiler: Banta the Necromancer (click to show/hide)

Banta summons a wind sprite, and commands it to lighten her body via magic. She then continues West, seeking a town, and leaving the horde a few hundred feet behind her at all times, so as not to draw attention.

You may want to add Summon Wind Sprite to your list of skills.

You perform the summoning, and cover your eyes when a flash of bright light flashes directly in front of you. When you open your eyes, a tiny humanoid creature with sky-blue eyes, hummingbird wings, and wispy clothing hovers in front of you. It lets out an exasperated sigh.

"Just for your information, I don't grant wishes. I've had so many fools ask for a ton of gold that I've started assuming that you're an idiot."

"I'm no fool, sprite. I trust that you will come to understand this."

"Oh, okay." says the sprite, smirking. "You're the scary summoner, raising an undead army to conquer th-"

You grab the sprite by the wings, and dangle it by your face as it protests.

"My first command - no more witty comments. I hope we have an understanding."

You release the sprite. It falters, shakily hovering from side to side, before regaining its balance and scowling at you.

"Fine. What do you, want? I don't have all day."

"Lighten my body. Let me move faster."

The sprite laughs.

"I can do a lot of helpful things, don't get me wrong. Breaking the laws of physics, however, is beyond my capabilities at the moment. I can certainly make you swifter - hell, I can even carry you in a miniscule tornado, if that's your thing. Now, what'll it be? No more shenanigans involving destroying the laws that govern the universe."

You say nothing.

"I can make you faster, fine." says the sprite.

The sprite flits around you, and you feel a draft. You draw your robes tighter about you as the wind gets colder and more fierce. Just when you're about to fry the sprite with a blast of lightning, the wind stops.

"There you go. Try it out."

You take a hesitant step forward. Nothing happens. You start walking West, and you suddenly feel a strong wind at your back, guiding you forward and making your steps significantly longer and easier. You cover a lot of ground in this fashion, and soon enough you stumble across a town. A handful of cottages lay scattered around a town square, in which you see a tavern, a metalsmith's forge, and what you can only describe as a general store. In the distance, faaaar to the West, you see something huge, although you know not what.

((Agh. Missed the turn cause I wasn't feeling well.))

"This night was shit. Let's just find somewhere to rest my undead bones for a while..."

Look for a cave/hole in the ground to trance in

You quickly dash out of your hole, groaning as the sunlight hits you. It burns. You force yourself to continue, and eventually sit in the shade underneath a tree. It helps, but you won't last much longer out here. You look around, and spot a nice secluded cavern in the distance. You dash towards it, and tumble inside just as you're about to expire in the sun. It was painful, but satisfying.

-4 hp!
+1 happiness!

You settle into a trance.

Turn 12 has started! Time: Sunset

Spoiler: Banta the Necromancer (click to show/hide)

Banta orders the horde to hold, then enters the tavern and purchases food. Once she is done with the meal, she exits the tavern, and summons a fire elemental directly in the door way. With an order to slaughter everyone inside in a creative fashion.

You enter the tavern. It's mostly empty, save for a drunkard and the barkeep. You sit on a stool and ponder your next course of action. The barkeep walks up to you, polishing a tankard.

"What'll it be, miss? We ain't got much nowadays. Money flow is dryin' right up."

"I'll have food. Whatever you think is best."

The barkeep nods and pulls out a couple tender cuts of meat. He starts frying them in a shallow pan. The drunkard bolts down the last of his mead and moves over towards you.

"What's a pretty lass like yer -hic- yerself doin' in these partses...?"

You ignore him.

"Not much fer -hic- talkin', eh? Fine then, let's geet rigiht to it! Ya got -hic- any friends ouwt thar? If ya dun't, I'd be quite pleeased to make meself yer ackwaintance!"

You say nothing. The barkeep looks at the drunkard and shouts at him.

"Leave 'er alone, Rulein! Git outta my tavern if you're gonna act like that."

The drunkard snarls, but he leaves the tavern, muttering angrily.

"Sorry about that, miss. Rulein there is a rowdy drunk, and he's a nasty man with a nasty temperament. You've gotta show those ruffian types who's boss or else they won't leave ya alone. Anyways, your meal's done. It's on the house, as an apology for that troublemaker's behavior."

You eat the meat. It's gamey, but tastes quite good with a small dish of rice.

+4 hunger!
+1 happiness!

You thank the barkeep and leave. You simply can't bring yourself to kill the man, considering how kindly he treated you. You wonder where to head next. You decide to go check on your horde. On your way out, however, you feel something roughly pull you aside. Rulein, the drunk, clasps one hand over your mouth, while he waves a knife around with the other.

"Izz rude to ignore a geentleman like meself when 'e asks yer a queschun!" he says.

You sigh, and summon the wind sprite again. The drunk howls when the bright light blinds him. You then take the opportunity to give him a few kicks, steal his knife, and kill him with it.
You get

Steel boning knife

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Start eating people. Then go over to the boulder and flatten a few of them(the people)

You look around at the angry little people, shouting at you and waving weapons. You take a step forward, and they scatter in a chorus of shouts. You pick one of them up. It's the squire that was staring at you when you fell. He's in tears, shouting something indiscernible and struggling in vain to escape.

You try not to think about the moral and theological implications of what you do as you swallow him. The rest of the mob, watching this, starts to flee. You grab a few more of them, and force yourself to eat them.

+4 hunger!
-1 happiness!

You burst into tears after the last of the mob has departed. You try to justify your actions to yourself. It wasn't really self-defense, though. You could have crushed that mob easily. You finally manage to break open the grain silo with the boulder, and cry even more when you see that it's mostly empty. You take what little grain there is back to your cave.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN. Hmph. I guess now is time to get my shiny back." Go in the direction of the tower.

You fly. It isn't long until you see a spire of white marble, reaching up into the sky. It's rather large, and the only tower in sight.

Your shiny is inside.

Get Bob and set him to go gather berrys while I go back to the town I left the girl in and check in if they are dead. Finding they are not tell them that there had been something chasing the girl when I left her there and I left to try and lure it away. Ask for some food while I wait to talk to the girl and question what did she do to piss off a dragon.

You return to the town after giving your horde orders, and find the guard who you spoke to earlier. He says that the girl should be at a nearby hospital, and leaves for a few minutes. He quickly returns, and says that the girl is ready to see you. You follow him to the hospital, but you're stopped by a physician.

"Guard! That patient you visited! The moment you left, she dashed away, even with her injuries! She was faster than everyone else, and she escaped!"

The guard looks at you, shrugs, and jogs out of the hospital. Huh.

Remain in trance to heal and pass time.

You do pretty much that.

"I need blood relatively soon.. otherwise, things will get ugly."

Rest to heal some more. Once the sun has set, it will be time to hunt.

Spoiler: Banta the Necromancer (click to show/hide)

Banta returns to the tavern again and orders a tender bit of meat to go, paying a little extra for higher quality meat. While it is prepared, she casually asks the tavern-keeper about The Eye of the Wolf (Or whatever the gem was). If he has no idea what it is, she waves it off as unimportant, and instead questions about any dragon-based activity in the area.

"Now, let's try that again, this time with less silver arrows being shot into my back."

Hunt for weak humans, destroy those who resist and drain those who flee
