GWG specifically said that their race was job. A demon of lust was their job title. GWG also did not specify anything else on the matter due to him not actually further elaborating on it, as I had asked him to each time he told me that.

So as I had said that Sen was a demon of Knowledge, I never said that that was her race, but her type. Sen is a demon of Greed, which means that her job is to collect everything that she desires, whether it be souls, books, or knowledge.

Right, so from what I can gather Hell is somewhere between a Feudal system and a Technocracy then? Its a decentralized hierarchy (there really aren't any truly dictatorial ruling systems anyway seeing as they really just amount to Oligarchies with a single figurehead) where roles are assigned based on the natural affinities and personalities of each demon. Demons of the same 'type' would only resemble each other because their physical, psychological and magical traits are what got them into their profession in the first place. Lucifer is the 'leader' by virtue of his sheer power and his laissez-faire ruling style.

The aristocrats possess power simply due to influence whether due to being popular, being powerful, or through intellect or cunning. The aristocrats of the Ars Goetia are presumably ones who assisted King Solomon as opposed to being bound to him as the book says they were. This is presumably why they introduce themselves to each other by stating their number within that book, seeming more like comrades than fellow prisoners along with why the summoning rituals don't seem to actual bind them if they do not want to.

Aristocrats are not necessarily even demons seeing as Andromalius is a title passed on by Fate Contractors and Aspects. I would assume that the rank was gained through the provision of high-powered Fate weapons which are likely effective against Angels due to the intensity of their distortions increasing their power when they impact defenses such as Entropic Shields used by Angels. Loyalty is probably ensured in that case by the fact that most instances of Andromalius weren't even remotely sentient and just let their servants do as they please. In the case of Andras, I would, taking @Elf's nature into account along with the fact that Andras takes the form of a police officer and has his loyal servants assist him without much issue, come to the conclusion that his power is in the form of charisma and popularity, possibly with power helping the process. Effectively I suspect he is more of a leader figure that his followers support as opposed to Lucifer and Andromalius who have power from a combination of their capabilities and unwillingness to exercise either.

Souls are constantly injected into the economy either through being claimed or being distributed by the Grim Reaper, it is likely that the claimed ones tend to be the ones used as trophies, symbols of power and rank or ones of significant use. Comparatively, the unclaimed would mostly be used either as currency or placed in a suitable role within the workforce. To avoid causing excessive inflation and to allow some degree of economic control, souls may be shifted between work roles and currency roles. A further means of reducing inflation is trade, since souls are also a resource, they may be sold to other realms thereby effectively removing currency from the economy and gaining various products and services in return. I would imagine that one of the key roles of the aristocracy amounts to finding ways of creating work so that there actually are jobs for work souls.

Is that correct?

Dude, you know what that last bit made me think of?
Some demons probably use slave souls to play really good games of Dwarf Fortress.

I was thinking of the exact same thing! They'd probably need some rudimentary bodies or constructs to place the souls into so that there's actually the satisfaction of watching dwarves and various creatures die horribly. Plus since its all souls, not just human souls, they could actually have carp souls inside the carp bodies and dragon souls in dragon bodies. Layar souls, due to their culture's like for war would probably be the ones in demon bodies.

That probably explains all the fire and magma. Along with the overly negative portrayals of hell.

Well, now we know what they do when they have too many souls.

Does make sense in it's own strange way. Often governments, in a bid to create jobs, just build infrastructure, monuments and whatnot. It would be similar to that, except all the stuff created probably gets demolished a few days later by poor planning thus ensuring that people are employed to repair the damage.

In that case, anyone have any issues with Hell being a feudal technocracy with a rather strange economy? Since right now, it's just using lore from four people and @Elf, @Projeck or @Ragnarok may have lore that disagrees with it.

Hey @Elf, just to clarify, how far does the Ryan household anti-magic field extend?

Oh, and, while I figured this would happen(to be expected, since I'm not on nearly as often as you people and have exactly one character that's truly introduced and active so far), I'm not even on the shipping poll.

Which means....

SUCCESS

I HAVE BEATEN YOU, ELF
You can never win, RG. Never. :3

Also, Lilly is Pestilence- Conquest retired to become a fisherman because War and Conquest is overkill. Also because I forgot about Conquest when I included the Horsemen.

And when half the major pantheons have at least one member chained to Anima....yeah.

Literally, the front porch.

I am obviously an animate pillow.
YOU'RE LYING!

A lot of the subjects either are controlled by Elf in his Monopoly game, or by atleast 2 or three people that are invested in it~

Seeing as those constructs are on the front porch, my estimate of the Supernatural Combat Specialist's combat prowess has now fallen from 'Mostly Cockblocked' to 'Dead Weight'. The thing's a fucking liability now. It's mere presence is now going to screw the constructs over even more.

Seriously, at present, the worst case scernario is that they somehow force their way into the house before they get ganked and the Ryan family is left with the question of how to get solid cement and asphalt out of their carpet.

So... what about stuff like Oni and Tengu?
If no one claims it I want them. Just to find the explanation for why they apparently don't exist now.

I dunno. Are youkai the same things as demons? Or are they different? Since some of them such as gashadokuro resemble being such as Null and Guerilla Warfare Units more than proper demons considering their nature and composition.
