Because she actually absorbed the lighting with her body. Ashley is trying to absorb the lightning with her blade, reacting to it in the little time she has.

I'm calling bullshit on that, for so many reasons.

You don't intercept lightning. What you might have meant is that the lightning probably would have hit the sword instead if it's made of a conductive material, but 'oh I intercept fucking lightning' is ridiculous.

Lightning reflexes does not literally mean lightning fast. Otherwise no one but Ashley would need to fight and she would effectively auto-win.

I'm also calling bullshit on the lightning hitting Ashley, rather than the Void Gate.

So yeah, bullshit in every way, not least because PN declared the result, rather than the action and allowing Projeck to declare what happened(which could have been as simple as 'ow shit it hit my sword and went through and some of it zapped my arm that hurt damnit' rather than cheesy god-moding shit).

Also: Magic Lightning isn't as fast as normal lightning.

So how fast does magic lightning move, versus normal lightning? It's seems silly for it to be even called lightning at that point. More like light that moves slower than light which makes no fucking sense.
