I'm sorry, but the interface and camera sucks too much for me to enjoy this.

Let me know when that changes.

So there is a download button, and it allows you to download the game. Since the file is a bit large, tell me: Can I play that version without purchasing the game?

There is a playable demo, yes. It's limited by character count and level. Presumably this is the file of which you speak.

Do want.
I remember an MMORTS that tried to do something similar. This already looks and plays better than that.

This game is terrible at present.  Awful camera and UI, pathfinding sucks, there is nothing to do but grind and it's just generally packed full of bugs.

And yet I can't stop playing it.  This is gonna blossom into something beautiful.

more terribly unfinished at the moment id say, building up from nothing is always fun, bit o trading, my first few runs between towns are usually fairly scary and I love being able to make a group of dwarves, hunchbacks and giants to roam the countryside with, though I figure this will be taken out eventually.

For me its a game that spits great heaping wads of potential out of every pore.  If the dev keeps at it I can see me telling people that I was into kenshi before it was cool and being damn proud of the fact.

New vegetation stuff looks great too, though I think ill miss the bleakness of running though the desert of nothingness with naught but my sword to protect me from the world

Just played and I can't say it's as bad as you've made it out to be. However the whole thing is so obviously pre-alpha that I'm looking at the game rather than unfriendy UI and dodgy camera.

To anyone who's played: How do I train up my katana skill past 1 without fighting bandits who have skill 3 (or 6, I forget)?

Also, found in the game files: '10 - Zombie ragdoll.phs'

Kite packs of bandits back to settlements/wandering traders, then get stuck in while they are fighting someone else,  or get a pile of guys and have all but one of em fight, then when the bandits are done kicking you ass and have left, have that guy run in and fix everybody up

You should also set your people to 'defensive' mode until their defense skill is higher.

Just thought I'd let everybody know that the update has finally arrived (It arrived a few days ago but I haven't noticed till now). This is literally the last thing I'm doing before heading to bed, so I can't check it out just yet.

Quote
FEATURES
-Foliage system
-Characters bleed 3x faster, but bloodloss clots (slows down) 4x faster.
-Character skills now increase more slowly as they get higher

BUG FIXES
-If your characters are staying down but are not wounded, they will get up if you give them a move order (eg right-click somewhere)
-Fixed bug where splitting an item stack made the value skyrocket
-fixed bug where you couldnt heal neutral NPCs
-fixed backpack inventories being mis-aligned
-fixed carrying bug where you sometimes couldnt put someone down
-fixed visual bugs with ragdolls when carrying them
-fixed bugs with splinting.  You can now only splint damage as high as 40
-fixed the invisible npcs bug

NEAR FUTURE PLANS
-bug fixes, and foliage improvements
-optimisations
-sleeping in beds, then building ownership

Building ownership sounds nice, I think the topic on the forum states that after building ownership comes research and crafting which should be pretty sweet =)

So, since this is currently part of the IndieFort bundle, has there been anything new added since the last post?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.
