That, plus the near 100k downloads/5years without anyone caring about the sprites used. Like I said in a post earlier, it never occured to me that it's a big deal, I thought that it technically exists but is not enforced or cared about much, like jaywalking. This is not intended as an excuse, just an explanation that might help you understand my point of view.
Five years ago, that viewpoint was more true than it is today, and five years prior it was more true still. The world changes as we get older, and the internet is changing too.

That said, I definitely encountered people (talking in more relaxed settings than bay12forums) who felt a bit sour at the level of respect you showed to other people's work even several years ago.

The biggest limiter on quality of the AI is the skill of the AI programmers. If scope was cut, it would make the game go faster but wouldn't make the AI smarter.

What were you consuming before? Merely above average amounts?
I was consuming huge amounts of cute girls doing cute things, which as we all know is the highest of taste.

Well he is giving money to the companies that make this crap. It incentivizes them to keep making it rather than making something good.
Why pay when the superior product is free?

Although honestly, the glory days of fansubs are long gone.

I think my taste has been steadily getting worse. These days I'm consuming huge amounts of isekai shlock.

Yeeeeah..... A, literally nobody does that ever.

And B, if somebody did do that, it wouldn't be a small indie publisher,

And C, kitfox staff have literally posted in here saying it won't happen.
She didn't say it definitely won't, let's not put words in her mouth. She's not a lawyer and she's speaking only on what she knows which is more than us but still, nobody's omniscient. But there's no reason to suppose that it would be a problem, and her statement reflects that.

This might seem like a pedantic point but people often mistake informative posts from games developers and representatives as promises, so we should make sure we're clear about this kind of thing.

The Kumo Desu Ga, Nani Ka? anime is shaping up to be absolutely excellent. My only gripe is that the classmates get too much screentime.
It's good so far. I'm watching it in part because I found the LN to get fairly tedious after a bit, and I'm hoping the anime gets through things a bit more rapidly. I think the inclusion of the other classmates is a reasonable way to break it up, but I have no idea where they intend the season climax to be.

Yeah, there sadly isn't really a viable build to use that I think. One of the better ones would be EA Marverni since as long as you make it to midgame, you will be spamming huge amounts of free sacreds anyway, and often in raid swarms of nothing else. In that context, if they all die immediately its no big deal, and if they took some tough stuff out along with, then it's fine. They have good HP to begin with and get more with Larger, so they can typically tank a few hits on HP alone, and you've got the paths to slap some natural armor buffs on them. However, the death explosion will still burn through them fast enough that you're gonna need something else to ensure the enemy doesn't reach your mages, which means you can't go for the pure build of pigs and mages (and the occasional vergobret) only, and you'll have less to spend on massive mage groups. So it's still generally worse than just not doing that.

Double bladed axes are unrealistic.
You don't know what you're talking about. Look at Indo-Persian sources for many obvious counter-examples. Greek and West African sources attest the use of similar weapons, albeit less readily available. Don't take internet nerd lore as gospel; pop history usually contains as much falsehood as truth regardless of branding.

Jewelry needs serious rework too. As examples of realistic designs in fantasy games I recommend Discord Times, Legends of Eisenwald and Bastard.
This is so vague that it can't even be ascertained whether you might have a valid point, much less how to appropriately act on it if so.

The official tileset will probably be valuing readability and aesthetic over realism. It makes more sense to critique things from the angle of "will the player know what this represents?" rather than "is this what the item actually looks like?"
There is no best aesthetic than imagination of player. As readability, ASCII (+ingame text description) is much more better than any tileset that I ever seen.
If that's your perspective, then you're likely not the market for the tileset anyway, and will be better served continuing to use ASCII.

All that is true, the world map tiles are 16x16, the main game tiles are 32x32 and the interface tiles are 8x12.
Does "interface tiles" refer primarily to the text font, or are the aesthetic elements of the interface also tile-built?

I think this thread amazes me most because sooo many of you see to have a wealth of experience and knowledge about this game. Where and how did you first find out about this game, those of you who would consider yourselves 'experienced'?
Nobody's experienced, you gotta explore the game and find stuff out and test things in the sandbox mode and talk to other people playing the game. That last one's the key, really.

Speaking of thoughts... I imagine you've all discovered that if you practice the sunflower art as a male, you become neutered. And the removed part is an item.

Now, the obvious thing to do here would be to make an artifact and beat your enemies with your dismembered schlong. But consider: Items can be sentient. Sentient items can eventually become people. So you can have a penis person hanging around the sect and cultivating.

You can even have the original cultivator possess and incarnate as his own penis. Hell, you could repeat the process, if the penis is a male.

I believe if the German "geist" is used, "spirit" would be more appropriate. At least if it is used in the same general vein as, say, "zeit-geist" ("time-spirit", "the spirit of our times").
"Nationalism a spirit of our unconscious egoism" doesn't read well, though. I think "specter" is a better fit on this context.

... also cinnabar turns out to be super great for devouring.
I mean, you would think so. It was the main thing people were eating to try and become immortal prior to the advent of internal alchemy. That's why the literal translation of dantian is "cinnabar field".
