Title: You are a Dragon
Post by: Detoxicated on February 03, 2014, 08:20:09 pm
It was the night before winter would begin, when you were born in a cave far away from civilization. As you peck your way through the thicki shell of your egg you begin to see light.
The cave surrounding you is tall but small in size. Beneath you is the cold grey rock.
You are very hungry.

You can see mushrooms growing beneath a stalagmite. You smell fresh air coming from the cave exit.

Is there a dragon thing you're supposed to eat, like a part of the shell or whatever? If so, do whatever you're supposed to do when you get hatched.

You eat part of the eggshell and seem to like it very much so. As you chunk down the lovely eggshell you begin to feel a change in your body. Your skin hardens with every bite you gulp down. Afterwards, feeling strengthened you walk towards the exit.

You can see that you are atop a small mountain. Beneath you there is an endless forest going to the end of the horizon.

You check out your back, but you only find strange lumps at your back. You begin wandering down the mountain and breathe in the fresh air. You can sense that there are many animals around, and lots of yummy plants as well. Your hunger reappears.

You decide upon hunting humanoids with pointy ears, if you run across one, for now you will just eat anything to ease your rambling hunger. You will need to eat much more if you decide to be stronger. For now you just reached the bottom of the mountain, the rocky road downhill was a pain for your feet, but you imagine that this will change sooner or later. You scent the air of water, and follow it. Through the woods you walk, where you find some strange markings on some trees. You also hear plenty of animals, which is taking much of your preoccupation.
As you reach a small pond you take a big gulp from the fresh water. As your nostrils hit the water you can smell many fish in the water. Your hunger is amayingly strong already.

You decide to catch fish with your mouth. You reach it in and stick your tongue out as a bait and stop moving, apparantly you know all the hunting stuff by heart. As you wait you ponder your meaning of life. Snap you catch a fish and start eating it up. You grow a bit and your body begins changing again, growing a little longer.

Also, eat any plants that we seem to want to eat.

You got a taste for the salmon, the carp and all the other beloved fish of the lake. So you dive into the lake, and for the first time in your live you feel the overwhelming wetness of water over your entire body and you love it. You decide to swim, and intuitively you learn how to move in water rather quickly, I guess you're born that badass, because you are a dragon. Under the water you act fiercly and swiftly and you get to eat many fish. As you walk out of the water you notice that you've grown in size.
You gaze upon your reflection and watch yourself in amazement. You are about 3 feet tall and 8 feet long and you have athletic looking legs. Your feet are webbed and clawed, you have a slighty long snout, and your scales are many and of greyish blueish coloration.
You enjoyed your hunt in the lake, but you do wonder what is the meaning of life. I mean it can't be that chillin all the time.

You jump into the air with the thought: Hey I might be able to fly.
In the middle of the thought you come to the conclusion that you should be able to breathe fire too, afterall you are a godly creature.
You ready yourself for the jump, and think of every detail of the action to come. You begin your run and you set for your first jump. As you jump up you begin breathing warm air with a misguiding cackle. You ram your head into a tree. You see stars.

As you recover you contemplate the situation. Are you ungodly afterall?

You decide to taste more of the food around these parts. Afterall it isn't easy being a youngborn dragon. You will most likely be spending the next fifty years or so being in a constant state of hunger. You will grow to be huge, already after fifty years you should be 20-25 ft high and 80-120ft long. For now you will hunt for different foods.

You begin to sense birds surrounding you, and you see that they have the advantage of being fliers, while you are crawling the ground. So you decide to climb some sturdy tree to wait for a target to fly by. You jump and bite into the head of a young Flying Peacock. You crash down, but being a dragon brings the advantage of being rather Sturdy. The consumption of the Peacock has made your backbones extend a little bit, and your snout has become beakyer.

Then you go to the next menu, the oak tree you climbed earlier. You begin chewing on it and it tastes awful, but you can feel and intense new energy flowing into you. Your toes extend a bit and your scales become a tad bit darker.

Now that you learned that you indeed can take any form, you contemplate about possible goals of yours. You don't know much about this world, and you haven't seen anything. Most animals should not be a great threat to you, so you could wander. On the other hand you could stay in the area to explore it more thorougly.

Follow the river, then, and see where it takes us. Eat as many fish, rocks, and dragonflies as we can on the way.

The following days you follow the river downstream towards the south. On your way you get to eat many different treats. You churn on delicious salmon while taking a swim. As their flesh enters your body you feel more and more atune to the waters. Eating rocks has proven to be a very painful experience. You felt your skin harden alot but you feel that you really have to concentrate on rocks to get a fulfilling experience out of it.
During the nights, as you won't be sleeping for another year, you caught some bats, and found out where they live and they have become a steady food for you, as you love biting their heads off. You can feel wings growing, so far they are only fangs, but your breast has grown increasingly and you feel that in a matter of weeks you might be flying. Strangely your hearing has become much more accurate but bright light becomes increasingly uncomfortable for you.
Dragonflies and frogs are next on the menu. It all started when you watched meditatively upon the river. A frog, sitting on a leaf, waiting cautiously. Then a dragonfly flies by, and he snaps his tongue out. Dragonflies are very difficult to catch and hardly worth the effort, but frogs taste rather unique.

The forest becomes thicker and thicker by every day passing, the weather has changed to, as it changed from a mild climate to a very humid and hot place. The river has also grown in size and strength. You feel that this place is more challenging.

You begin munching on some pebbles, but they taste crappy. Lucky for you that you weren't that hungry in that particular moment. The moon is shining above you as youre standing on a small clearing, surrounded by mammothian trees.

This beautiful sight makes you remember that you still haven't found purpose, it is as if you are wandering aimless through the world, constantly growing but unknowing of why and without knowledge if he should bother. The food, and the steady change of ability keeps you amused long enough, but in moments like these you begin to wonder.
What is the purpose of existance?

You decide upon a goal and chuckle maliciously. The next years go smoothly as you decide to feast on fish, bats and rocks. You quickly learn that there is different qualities of rocks, and if you are unsure you can beat them open to see if there are minerals inside. The digestion of the rock matter becomes easier every month and so does the staying underwater. You manage to breathe underwater, and you can hear for miles. You also seemed to have developed echolocation.

This has helped you in a dangerous encounter with a gigantic anaconda. You were swimming through the swampy by marshes to the river, as suddenly a strike from below blew into your stomach. Quickly a beast coiled around you. Holding its clawing tooth away from your head you rip its jaw open, as it tries to choke you with the weight of his body. You manage to bite into its neck. After minutes of wrestling the beast succumbs to blood loss. You feast for the following 48 hours on its beautiful corpse.

You now stand 7 feet tall, you have bat like wings. Your body is slender, bent to a live underwater. You have a long tail which can be used like a rope or whip. You have extendable jaws, and huge fangs. Your scales are ranging from grey to blue to green.

You arrive at a waterfall, beneath you you see a creature like you, similar yet completely different. It is about your size and black colouration.

The way I see it we have two options. We can have children with the creature, or we can feast upon it and continue our quest for the world dragon. Personally, my opinion is that-

There can only be one.

Even though you feel that the beast shall be in your belly, you also see the opportunities if you let the creature live, so you decide to jump down the waterfall. As you exit the water, you see an eager specimen standing in front of you. It is standing in an easy stance, still ready to strike if you attack him. You nod your head at the creature and begin looking at it thoroughly.

In front of you stands a black wingless dragon, with a big head. On the snout of the beast you see a star shaped compilation of nostrils looking in every direction. The scales of the black dragon are covered with thin silvery hairs, that sometimes end in small bumps. Its eyes are violet and its teeth are long. It has big feet, looking as if they are prone to digging and beating.

You begin circling the dragon, as if you were trained for it, and the other dragon imitates your movement. You begin hearing the other dragon's thoughts.

"Greetings blue one, you are at my turf. What do you intend to do here?" You reply:"Hey, I didn't know this was yours. You look interesting, what have you been eating?" "Mostly mushrooms, moles, and panthers... How about you" You tell the dragon about your diet.

"What is your name?" A question to which you have no answer.
"I'd rather see that you leave my territory"

What will you do? What is your name? You are a male, and black wingless seems to be one as well...

My vote goes to following the river and eating any fish/rock/fisherman along the way.

Not too many humans to start a mass scale hunt but just enough to nice and full. Once we get to the ocean will swim down and practice getting to the magma parts of the ocean and eating bits of hot rock...not meant as a pun.

Plus one to this suggestion, as well as seeing if we can't make ourselves pressure-proof.

I think Abyseth might be an OK name, but I'm open to different ideas.

What do we need military for? We've got to get somewhere before our body starts settling into a final form.

Step 1: Go to ocean, find oceanic trench
Step 2: Eat lava until we can burrow into the mantle
Step 3: Eat the core
Step 4: Eat the world from the inside out
Step 5: ???
Srep 6: Profit!

"I hardly believe that you could actually hold your claim, if I tried to take your turf away from you, mushroom boy." you reply chuckling.
The other dragon fits his body to an aggressive stance and begins fletching his teeth. There is a moment of silence between you, the only sound you hear is the waterfall and some crickets.
Then both of you begin charging towards one another. Both of you jump and in midair you ram together. Immediately you begin biting into his body, as he does to you. A fierce fight of biting and scratching begins as you slam to the floor. You cannot estimate who is the stronger of both of you so you begin pulling him towards the river. As you pull him with your teeth, you begin tasting a very disgusting bitter taste. It seems to be a substance which is ooying out of the bulbs at the end of the silvery hairs. Your vision seems to weaken and you become blind rather quickly. This is the point where you decide to flee. You get another prank in your back, but you manage to scuttle away, jump into the river, and swim off downstream.

You have made an enemy. A rather peculiar dragon, who has concentrated on poisonous mushrooms as it seems. After a while your vision returns, but the spots where the wingless dragons had bitten you are swollen and itching for the following weeks. Lucky for you, you are a dragon of fast metabolism, or else the poison could have killed you.

You keep on swimming downstream up to the point where you meet the beach, and the water becomes salty. You sit down in the sand and begin to contemplate.
Where will you go from here?
What is your name? You feel it could be George but maybe there is a better name eluding you so far.
What shall be your new stable diet, as this place here holds no bats.

ooc: Maybe i should point out that your decision will determine a couple of years, leading towards the final form. While you wont get the complete end result you will be close to it, and a new part of the game begins, with slower time intervals and such. Also, your diet will determine where you will live, if you say you want poisonous plants it is fine, but it will most likely result in being at least partly accustumed to live on land. This will forbid to add deep sea creatures as stable diet, while being a sea creature would forbid you a diet based on land creatures. Much of the focus of the game will be based off of your dietary choice now. So please choose five dietary choices, in a beautiful to see manner so it can be easier voted on and such. Thank you. ;)

There aren't poisonous plants underwater?

Hot rocks and lava
Fish
Aquatic mammals and the occasional land animal
Plants both underwater and on land
Decaying corpses

Being a deep sea dragon isn't that important to me anyway.

Hot rocks and lava
Fish
Something capable of digging
Bats
Decaying corpses and plants

Edit: Thinking underground lake lair where we eat fish, bats, moles and occasionally drag down something larger from the surface, let it decay a bit in the water and snack on it.

Let us be a coastal dragon, staying in the deep by day and venturing to the surface by night. We will feast upon rocks and minerals, including the molten ones. We will eat the mightiest sea creatures we can. We will eat flying creatures when we can, likely seabirds. For the other 2 slots, I don't have a preference. With this arrangement, out lair would be incredibly difficult to reach for any prospective enemies, but we'd still have access to land.

If we make minerals/lava a large part of our diet, won't that already make us a digging creature? Presumably we could just eat/chew our way through rock if we ate enough of it while developing.

Ideally we should become a magma dragon, since that is awesome, but I'd settle for Terror of the Sea. Say, "Lord of the Sea" sounds like a good title, which could also serve as a name.

I'll put my votes this way;

Fish - We like fish and swimming. Let us keep this way. Fish include sharks. That is good.

Sea Birds - Eventually, we will want to take to the sky. Thankfully, some of the most best flying birds are sea birds. Take the albatross for example. Massive wingspan.

Igneous Rocks - To dig, we shall eat rocks. In addition, this will likely make our skin tougher. This should also make us resistant to lava in some ways.

Metamorphic Rocks - Because molten rocks aren't the only rocks that exist. By being able to bore through metamorphic rocks, we will eventually hit and devour the core of the earth.

Snakes - Let's be honest, we don't have anything related to claws and at this rate we never will. However, we may as well give ourselves a nasty bite if someone tries to fight us. Being able to wrap and choke them to death is a nice bonus.

If rocks simply count as one thing, then I vote for Fishermen. They will not steal from our ocean.

Sharks? As much as I love those adorable little predators, you're not thinking right. Killer whales are apex predators. Sharks are not.

Sea birds, agreed. Gulls, albatrosses. Spiffy things like that.

Fish? Look for poison ones, like stonefish, jellyfish, blue-ringed octopi, pufferfish, etc. If Mushroom Dragon is toxic, we need some hard-core poison to counter it. Sea snakes count, too.

Rocks should also include coral if we can. The more rock types, the better.

You decide upon an aquatic lifestyle, as you see that a rock diet will not be sufficient on the long run. So you begin your first years by hunting bigger schools of sharks, as well as the occassional albatross and gull. You grew vehemently, and your body adapts more and more to the biome you inhabit. Quickly you find your way around, always travelling between the coral reefs, the deep black sea, and the shorelines. Hardly ever you walk back on land.

In the corral reef you have found quite the supplements to your diet, as you begin to feed on anemones, sea snakes, and corals. The rocks surrounding the corrals have a uniquely pleasant taste to them, and a great colouration.

Your favorite food so far, however are the orca whales that happen to show up every now and then. Their flesh has made you bigger and more intelligent than ever, so it seems.

You began mapping the area, and have found several aquatic volcanos. The hot lava is a dangerous treat, but whenever you do reach out to these places you feel that its worth the effort.

You are 15 ft tall and 40ft long. Your body is slender, adapted to a life underwater. Your feet are finlike and your legs are long. Your tail is extremely long and very muscular. You have three rows of teeth, and the second row is especially powerful, long, and sharp. Eating rocks and corals has made your scales very tough, while the poisonous animals have made your skin slightly poisonous. Eating magma has given you the ability to produce extremely hot air from your lungs, giving you an effective steam breath.

You are 20 years old and a bit bored with your life. You could go on eating and eating, but you feel that there should be more to your life. Your dream of becoming a world dragon is still existant, but the swimming around part, gets on your nerves. It is time to find a suitable lair, for you to inhabit and decorate. Finding intellectual beings would brighten your day too, as you begin to feel lonely.

Find merpeople or dolphins to be our companions. Landlubbers will be unable to be dinner guests in the household of we, their feudal lord.

In fact let's just refer to ourselves as "We," in the royal sense. Others may refer to us as "Lord" or "Your Highness." We shall not require a proper name until the unlikely event we find a circle of equals.

You quickly develop beautiful ideas how to amuse yourself. As first action you decide to refer to yourself as "We" and demand to be called by anyone else, "Your highness". Next you want to have minions to treat you as such. So you begin travelling again, as you noticed there is no intelligent live nearby, but you believe there must be other sapients.

For some weeks you travel towards the south. The waters begin to grow shallower and are pleasantly warm. There is some islands of small size closeby. This is where you encounter a group of manatee men, armed with spears, hunting for some dolphins nearby. You watch them closely, as your echolocation organ takes note of the painful shrieks of the dolphins.

You produce yourself in front of the manatee men. They are waiting in fear.

You bite into the gem, and quickly it appears at your forehead. You do not know what this means, but now the manateemen are starting to swim frantically up and down. It seems as if they are praising you in this manner.

You stare into the eyes of the manateeman who gave you the gem, when you feel a thin conection between the two of you. You try to push a thought into the fledgling. You see him moving as you push a thought. You speak to his mind "We are the Highness, and you may only refer to me as such. Bow down to your ruler and bring me to your home." He nods and swims towards the east. After twenty minutes you can see an island coming out of the water. In the shallow waters you see some huts,in which you see more manatee people. Some of them are working on tools, some are cooking, but all stop in motion when they gaze upon you. The entire village, you count seventyfive manateemen of which twentythree are children, gather around you.

Your guide turns around and gazes at you.

You roar out loudly and boisterous, and the manateemen tremble in fear, while the manateewomen redden.
You communicate to the mind of your underling.

"We shall create a new inter-oceanic language that must be known by all sentient aquatic creatures. Then we'll attack human coastal villages and drag women to our depths to become part of our world. Followed by destroying their coastal trade and building a City using the scraps of their ships.
Soon even the humans will bow and offer us gems."

The speaker speaks loudly and proudly to the tribe.

The manatees begin dancing and waving. You are irritated and amused by this, but decide to leave after a while. You take a flight over the island. It is a perfect round island with a volcano in the middle. It is about 70 square miles big, and in the distance you see many small islands surrounding this one. The island is covered in thick jungle. The manateepeople have build a small village in the shallow waters, as they aren't very agile on land. You sense that this place holds more to it if you try to discover it more thoroughly. On your way back you see an abandoned mining shaft. This land had been settled before, as it appears.

Upon your return the manateepeople present you a new site they have build for you. In front of you you see a big circle made of wood, with an entrance. It reaches 4ft out of the water. You will be able to sleep underwater, and won't be seen. You chuckle at the simple construction, and wonder how this could be more comfortable than your former contemplation sites.

You ponder over what to do next.

You nod at the manateepeople and begin to fly towards the island. You land on the land and begin wandering the jungle. It is good to be back in the jungle, as it reminds you of your early years. A roar of happiness is heard throughout the entire jungle, as you scream in delight. You begin surveying the animals on the island. While there is many small sized beings, you also encountered some pretty big orangutangs as well as sun bears, and tigers.

You decide that orangutangs are probably best suited to walk the mining shaft. You produce yourself in front of a school of them, and they quickly scuttle away. But by flying up, and circling them, you manage to lock them on a clearing. Where you land and roar in superiourity. You begin to communicate your thoughts to the meanest looking orangutan.

"You and your friends shall go to the old mine, and search it. Afterwards you come back to the beach to express to me what you have found there."

The group leaves and you return to the manateebase. Your spokesperson looks at you as if he was waiting for instruction.

You look thoroughly at your direct representative and tell him, as usually by telepathic means, that no dolphins shall be harmed. You exclaim that they are wonderful creatures and of great joy to you. The manateeman nods and faces the village. He jips and japs what you just told him and the manateepeople are listening. They begin dancing and singing afterwards. This seems to be their way of showing you that they'll comply to your demands. Maybe if you send them to practice they will actually sound good. Hmm.

Afterwards you decide to amuse the manateemen, by giving them some sort of gift from the ocean. So you go back into the sea, trying to look for the deep blue. After a while of swimming, you ate some delicious hammerhead on the way, you find a deep shaft going deep into the ocean. As you swim downwards you notice it is actually getting warmer, which is only pleasant to your being, as your diet has made you thermophile.

And there you see it. Beneath you a humoungous lavastream. You feed on the hot liquid rock and feel delighted. After exploring the aquatic cave you find a round rock of obsidian, which has a diameter of aproxiamately 7ft. You decide that this is a peculiar object, and also it would be nice to introduce the concepts of rocks to these backward manateepeople.

You carry the rock to the village and present it to them. They sing and dance.

You claim your spot inbetween the dancing manateepeople. Several of them attempt to climb you, you receive plenty of kisses. This lot really adores you. You begin communicating with the spokesman.

"Do you have writings to read" He looks at you confused. "Are there any others like your people?"

"Oh there is many, scattered around the islands. Except for one, which is a dangerous place." "Tell me more about your culture"

Your spokesman begins talking to you, about how the earth cracked open and gave them these islands. As they used to live in the shallow waters and the occasional sandbank before. They are band of loose families. Their culture is reduced to the simple toolmaking, and primitive woodworking. "I am amazed by the rock that you brought to us. I am sure we will find good use for it"

This is when an orangutan appears at the beach closeby, you notice it by echolocation. You seperate from the tribe with a last triumphant pose, a quick strike of steam into the air, and a swift flight to the beach.

You land in front of the orangutang and he kneels down. A blue gem falls down to your feet. You look at the gem, it seems to be saphire. You feed on the gem and you feel how the gem pushes itself on your forehead, next to the ruby.

Tell the Orangutang his species is now sacred to us.

+1, although I guess we're abandoning the whole World Eater plan, seeing as how we're going to make protectorates of pretty much every friendly species we encounter.

Also, Eat a tiger.

The orangutan's bravery and foraging skills have earned it's species a protector. They'll be our scouts on the island i think. Also maybe we should visit the other tribes *hint hint*.

Oh, we're still going to eat them. It's for their own good, after all. In our theology, we shall present the future dragon-world as an afterlife for the worthy, and orangutangs shall have a privileged place in the new world (once we become it).

Yes. Eventually, all things will be devoured. But the new world will be filled with their kind, and the dolphin/orangutans will be chief among them. If we can find a bird that we can claim as a protectorate then we are set.

You look at the orange orangutan, who looks curious in your direction. With a stern look on your face you tell him "Your race shall be sacred in the world-dragon" You blow some hot steam into the air, and kindly hold a wing over the orangutan as a gesture of good will. He seems to be empowered by this and begins to jump up and down in a frantic manner. You take a small sprint and jump into the air to fly in the glistening sunlight.

Over your island you fly, and still you find new things. A small pond next to a beautiful palmtree. Then a strange rock formation. All atop of the barely grassed black stone. You land at a clearing, and almost imediately you find yourself facing a tiger. How could you have missed this fella?

You begin circling the beast in a playful manner, afterall he is so much smaller than you. He tries to run away, but like a cat with its mouse, you paw him towards you whenever he is to far off. At last you swipe him and bite into his head. Yummy.

You begin to charge into the air again, as you remembered your spokesman's words. There are many tribes of manateemen on the surrounding islands. So you begin to fly to each of them. There is nine of them. Each village consists of roughly the same population as yours. You also realized that there is ten islands surrounding your island, but one of them seems to be unpopulated.

Several weeks later you return to your tribe. You realize that they have created a statue of you, standing next to a orangutan and a dolphin. They all chant to greet you. Your spokesman produces himself in front of you and says "We have made a great effort, your highness, we have created this marvelous statue, and this pillar to put the statue on. You see an obsidian pillar and are astonished. They have managed to create a perfect cubic pillar of obsidian, and there is more, you see them using rock tools.

Your spokesman speaks up: "The orangutans have swum here, isn't that strange. They had one who was able to talk. They are working with us now. They were the ones to gather all the rock, we just became inventive with it. I don't know it seems as if you are giving us insights we never had before, yourt highness." You see some manateechildren swimming with dolphins. You raise an eyebrow. "Oh we saved a few from a humongous kraken, by using spears on the thing. We fed them, and showed them some tricks. They are fun to play with and they seem to like it here. They help us hunt too, your highness. You were wise to spare them."

Yes, we must finish what the manatees have started.

As for steam power, not yet. But they are rapidly proving their worthiness of such power, so I do not want to eliminate the possiblity steam punk manatees.

Regardless, they must know that they have done well. One day, they too will be creatures sacred to us.

You swim towards the deep sea, where you sense a humongous presence. Deep beneath you, you feel the kraken moving anxiously. He knows that you sense him, and is ready to attack you.

Title: Re: You are a Dragon
Post by: WillowLuman on February 10, 2014, 06:47:57 pm
Agreed. We must rebuke it, intimidate it if we can. "You dared to prey upon our dolphins, and to make threats against us. You must be punished."

Slightly bigger? Well, that's tenable. "Vast" would have been a problem, but I think we can take this fool. See how it bluffs at our approach.

If we fight it, we must either try to drag it closer to the surface, or lure it near lava. It has the advantage over us in wrestling, but we might have the brute force to drag it. If not, priority should be biting its limbs off. Our scales must be very hard, so that should afford us some protection from the tongue, but we do not know how hard this rasping tongue is.

It likely has big, squishy, vulnerable eyes, though blinding it likely won't hinder it's abilities too much. Might cause some damage, though. As a creature of the deap, it likely isn't too fond of heat, so giving it a good blast before getting in biting range would be a good idea. If it shrugs off the heat, retreat. If all goes sour, take to the skies.

You close in on the giant kraken, and fire a hot stream straight at him. He replies with a shriek, and quickly he reshifts his body and propells towards you. The water is blackened by the ink he shoots into the ocean. Your echolocation keeps you on trek, so you manage to dodge a few of his tentacles. Yet he has you in his maim and starts wrestling. You begin shooting frantically from your mouth, the water temperature rises to extremes.

Some of the arms untie from you, wringing in pain. You are still connected to the beast, but its tongue manages to rasp off huge bits of your leg meat.

As the tongue closes in on you, you beam a strong burst of hot water into the calamari. The beast twitches, but you twist your body around and hold it firmly in your claws, still frying the beast. For the following half an hour you wrestle with the beast, and use all of your energy to fry the beast. At last, the squidling has died.

Hissing words of disgust at the dead body, you begin eating the cavity. For the following hours you remain eating. As you finish the last bite of the squid you feel a big rumble in your stomach. You swim towards the island.

As you reach the village of manateepeople, you are welcomed by the horde. They yap in joy and begin waving at you. You feel serious pain in your entire body and are very tired. You swim towards the center of the village. Your spokesman presents himself to you by taking a deep kneel from the little hutplatform, where he is standing.

You cross eyes with him and connect to him directly. You tell the awesome epic of the dragon who slayed the kraken.

You decide you want to rest, but where? Also, any last words to the village?

I think there was a problem with consuming all of the kraken at once... If you consider that it was slightly bigger than us, and that our stomach has to be at least our size or smaller (at least our size if we're like a sponge or something, and we're not), then we just fit basically something bigger than us into something smaller than us, and we might explode

But hey let's go sleep in the volcano

You ponder over where to sleep, while thinking about it you begin communicating with your spokesman. "We will sleep now, but once we awake a new age of prosperity will begin. I shall sleep in the volcano.

You wave goodbye and let out a final roar. Everybody cheers at you. You fly towards the volcano, set with the goal to build a perfect nest as close to the lava as possible. As you fly over the island you see the orangutans standing on a clearing, erecting something big. You cannot tell what it is, but some of them point at you and begin screaming and jumping. A joyous sight to see, it appears that you have infused them with an insight.

You land at the top of the volcano, beneath you the lake. You see some possible nests.

A: At the upper edge of the volcano, on a small platform over the cliff to the lava.
B: A cave in the lower end of the volcanoshaft, barely above the lava

You fly down to the cave and take your first deserved slumber. Quickly you slip into unconsciousness.

You begin dreaming of epic tales. A young manateeman is born, he seems to be the son of your spokesman. He has shown high intelligence and social understanding from the minute he was born. You see him grow up and experience his view of the world. As a young man he saw the first ships, riding by the island. Their painted sails were filled with the everlasting winds, so they passed quickly. This inspired him to use the wind for energy as well, and he constructed the first canoe. To accomplish this he had to walk into the forest, a most tedious task for the youngster, and receive woods. He walked aimlessly for a while, not sure what to look for, when he was circled by three orangutans. They spoke to him in his language, but had a strange unhowling accent to it. They showed him the way to a perfect tree. Big and wide in diameter, this tree would serve well.

He worked several days, after the orangutans cut the tree. His obsidian carving knife would quickly form the tree. With the apes, he carried the canoe down to the village, where he would present it to the tribe. A great feast was held and the orangutans were invited.

Soon trade emitted and the different tribes of manateepeople exchanged goods and stories. Many orangutans left to other islands too, and were accepted with great eager, as they were able landworkers. Soon the town would get a solid base with small channels in between. A bit more fortified and connected to the land, your statue can be seen in the middle.

During this time, Khayan the Manateeman, had risen to become a local hero, as  he wrestled a serpentinian underwater triumphantly. After this he would often sit quietly in his private house waiting for a new time to begin.

You awaken. You realize your dream had happened.

Let us not be too hasty to appear before the manatees. They have done well in our absence. Perhaps for a time it would do us well to watch how they progress from afar, guiding them silently, lest they become too reliant upon us.

The Golden Age of the manatees will be quiet, but when it has begun they will say they have done it themselves.

To the contrary, completely secluding ourselves will make them completely independent of us, which we do not want. We want advancements among the manateemen, but not independence. You fly out of the volcano ontop of the island in a quiet manner. You then swiftly turn towards the sea midair, and enter the ocean in an extremely rapid movement. You swim for many miles until you feel safe enough to be unseen. You just want to be the first to see yourself.

You fly out of the water and gaze upon your reflection. Turning and twisting around in the air {which is great fun} you look at every angle of your being.

You have almost doubled your size, and your wings have a huge spanlength. Your tail has split into five strains, and they end in claws now. Your skin colour still ranges from green to blue to black, with occasional spots of magma coloration. Beneath your three rows of razor sharp teeth you have developed a 5ft long tongue, similar to the rasping tongue of the squid. You are able to spit magma now, but only when you eat amounts of rock.

At night you land closeby the village, and send a message to your spokesman. After a while, an old man sitting on a small canoe comes closer to you. Your spokesman has grown old. It must have been thirty years.

Our only substantial competition (that we know of) is other great beasts. Conquering the world seems like an unnecessary step, though it could be used to distract some of our more powerful obstacles. Perhaps if we eat the unoccupied parts of the world first, we might grow large enough to ignore whatever armies the tiny civilizations might throw at us.

The humans could well become advanced enough to defeat us; especially if they ally with another great beast. Further, humans have ingenuity, so if we industrialize the manateemen, then go to war with the humans, the humans could take the technology and perhaps figure it out, presenting a bigger danger.

Also, do we still grow? I was under the impression that we stopped growing, or is our diet just fixed now?

You warmly embrace the old manateeman. He is very happy.

"Spokesman, tell me of all the advancements you have made over the past years, since I was gone."

"Oh your highness, many things have changed since you left. I must say life used to be simpler, but we have made such beautiful devices. See we learned how to build canoes and rafts, and are able to move fire through the waves with it. Also we can stay dry too, but a swim is always nice isn't it. We learned how to craft with stone, fairly well, but our problem is obtaining the stuff. Luckily the orangutans have changed. They are our firm brothers now, dwelling on the land, bringing us wood and rock. We can build simple tools now and construct simple buildings. My son has seen gigantic ships on the horizon but we haven't seen any for years. We set up some crab farms, and knit nets. We even trained dolphins to drive fish into them.

We have mapped 9 different tribes, they all heard of you but did not see you. Some believe us, some think we are madmen.
The nine tribes are as follows:
- The Tribe of the Coral Flute led by Aljahna
- The Tribe of the Furious Roar led by Krane
- The Tribe of the Curious Hammerhead led by Daikan
- The Tribe of Careless Whispering led by Ken
- The Tribe of Paradox led by Ummagi
- The Tribe of Waves led by Yak
- The Tribe of Lances led by Dante
- The Tribe of Tridents led by Carmensito
- The Tribe of Serpents led by Sizzlack

The Serpents hate our guts, and cannibalize too. They are a minor threat, but haven't attacked in a while. Supposedly they do evil witchcraft and prey to serpentine gods.

Over the years I observed the striving of the tribe and have come to some conclusions. Having made contact with you, Oh Highness, has changed us. We have become more inventive and less afraid. Also our mating cycles have increased. A similar change has been seen by the orangutans. I think it could be related to the gems you possess, but it is just a guess. I am proud to tell you that I am the most respected man in the village. It is not only due to being your spokesman. You see, I became more intelligent and well spoken, I was able to gain insights from events that unstirred me in the past."

ooc: Oh you grow, you just don't change abilities as massively as before, but you grow

We must accost the Serpent tribe, but before we do so, quick question, are they all manatee men under various names? Or literally serpentmen? In any case we should try to reason with them first, and convert them to our religion (centered around us I think, since the manatees effectively worship us). Failing that, consult the manatees and state that the infidels must be destroyed, but that we would not do so (though we could) without the support of the manatees. Doing so attaches the manatees closer to us and makes them more loyal, in case they disapprove of our actions, which could lead them to become less loyal.

And also, let's not try to be exaggeratedly aggressive. Instead let's set a good example for the manatee people, even for the non-believers. As for the serpent men...........

Gather all the able warriors of the surrounding villages and attack the serpents. They could be useful practice testing our new fighting abilities. Consider capturing some as slaves, integrading them in to our society after a consideral amount of years.

Well they wouldn't be used to the slight advancement we have in technology and culture. Their cannibals and worship savage serpent gods. Sorry if I thought the serpent tribe was actual serpents.

If anything i think it's best to eat crystals and other big creatures. The Manatee man will start their small raids with our help and then build a far superior nation to trump their tribesman. Of course though they will know and love our name but let THEM deal with stuff.

A part of you ponders if you should follow the destiny of the tribe, but you quickly decide no. You want to get back to your original plan. Eating the world. Also your bones bristle for action, and you want to adventure. After all you haven't seen much of the land world. If youfly a while you're likely to find bigger areas of land.

For now you think it's best to leave the manatees alone, but to give them one last gift. You decide to go for the Serpent tribe, to fight their serpentine gods. This will make the atoll safe to travel and develop, and clearly your tribe will lead the manatees to glory.

You embrace your nameless spokesman for the last time to fly off. He cries, knowing he won't be seeing you in this life. You tell him to embalm his corpse, so you can consume him when you return.

You fly off to the island of the Serpentine Tribe. On your way you ponder about what you will expect so you decide to land in the ocean a short cross away from their island. Luckily a whaleshark is around, so you have  delicious snack in between.

You are close to the village and can observe that it is slightly bigger than your tribe's village. Some fires are burning to light the place.

ooc: remember kids, if you want to spit magma instead of steam, you have to eat massive amounts of rock.

You decide to fly over them and deploy lots of steam, and truly in your furious strike, you kill 10 to 15 manateepeople. The rest screams in anger and waves spears at you. Some spears hit you, and stick into your scales, but they are only minor wounds.

You decide to gather rocks, so you go underwater. You feast for the next ten hours on rocks at the bottom of the sea, up to the point where your teeth begin to hurt.

You return to the village and burn down a building with you magma and produce yourself in front of them.

"Submit to me, and bring me your serpent gods, so I can feast on them."

The tribe of manateemen is clearly afraid of your presence. One steps up and says: "I am Sizzlack, I shall bring you to the serpent gods, and we shall see if you are able to withstand them."

You follow the manateeman, who is riding a raftboat, to another island, the one you thought to be uninhabitted.

"Walk this forest and meet your doom. If you return we shall submit to you, if you do not return your name shall be cackled in disapproval"

Alright there are serpent gods, plural. Gather more rocks and start a forest fire to drive'em out. If so, go in the ocean and wait for ambush. When they emerge from the scourging fire to the ocean, attack with steam and claws! Not a bite attack like what happened with the other dragon. Also we're more better at Under-Water combat, we're not attuned to Over-Growth combat.

After you asked the manateeman why they follow the gods, he replies: "Because they feed on us, the only way we could survive as a tribe was to become their cooks. So we started supplying them with the others. If you manage to free us from the oath of binding we shall serve you."

You nod. As if you didn't know that. Of course depening on your stance on the matter, you might as well eat their entire tribe for stupidity. You raise your nostrils, and tell him to leave. You step into the water to meditate on the situation. You come to the senses that there probably is no danger to just walk into the forest. So you step out of the water, without refilling your stomach that is, so you only have one burst left.

As you walk into the forest you DON'T notice the rustling, and you don't notice the slight hissing sounds in the wind. You walk for about half an hour without noticing anything unusual. As you step on a clearing you sit down to contemplate.

SWOOSH! A huge stone spear, probably 12 long scratches the skin of your left shoulder, and leaves a bleeding mark, just to ram into a tree 5 ft behind you. Another similar spear hits you in your left foot, and pierces into the floor. Five 1ft blades fly into your backside, and get stuck there. Another spear flys by your scaly tentacles, to open a bleeding wound on one of them. One spear misses completely and gets stuck next to your right foot.

You roar around to look from where you are attacked. You are surrounded in five different directions, by five 10ft tall snake-humanoids with scaly skin. One of the five is armed with a stone blade, while the rest carry pouches with more of them black spears.

Use an immediate lava breath, as we are fighting multiple assailants. If we roll good, it should burn down the combatants all at once!

First remove spear from foot, that sounds painful.
DO NOT lavabreath the one with the stoneknife. Steam him instead. If I am correct, I assume he is the "ninja", which implies at least decent agility. Steam is harder to avoid (imo). Regardless, immediately pounce on him after firing steam and tear at him with teeth and claws. We don't know how resilient these creatures are. If we are in range, try to smack one of the others with our tail(s).

You jump forward, ripping the spear out of the floor. In midair you begin throwing some serious steam at the one you consider their ninja. He manages to jump away in time, only slightl getting burned on his left arm. Your front legs barely miss the fiend, who is smiling maliciously at you. While two of your tentacletails miss two of the fighters, as they manage to jump easily over them, you get to strike one at his chest who is hammered backwards for 6-8ft. The other two tentacles strike the remaining Serpent God. One tail grapples the beast by the waist, while the other strikes him at the head.

The ninja reassures his position by jumping backwards. He now monitors you raising his knife (it is a knife for him, still an 4ft sharpened piece of stone). You get struck by a spear, and it hits you in your left hindleg, getting stuck there. The other spear flies by your head and hits a tree. Another spear is kicked in midair by your hindleg and shatters into undangerous pieces. The brute serpent god in the grasp of your tentacle tries to wrestle himself out, but fails to break the muscle of your powerful tail.

Once in the water we'll eat some rocks {enough to blow some magma} and burn down their shit forest. That'll level the playing field.

Damnit, dyslexia has struck down our element of surprise!

Well, let's see. We were ~40 feet long when we fought the kraken, and since then have doubled in size, making us about ~80 feet long. We are a mighty beast. These chumps may be big for humanoids, and proportionally strong, (and perhaps magical, explaining why stone tools could pierce our stony scales), but our sheer size should make the following very difficult to dodge:

Spin around, swinging our tail(s) in a complete circle. The only way to dodge in time would be to jump over it, which would be hard if we splayed our the tails. Before attempting this maneuver, we should probably bash the one we're already holding against the ground, or perhaps hurl it into the sky.

You hear a crying voice in your head proclaiming from another dimension:

"Numbers, I forgot to check up on numbers. The smart players have beat me this battle."

You begin jumping in the air, circling around, and if you didn't hit them the first time around, you sure as hell manage the next five time. You turn into a dangerous tornado, of tails claws, and steam. Sickened by the circling, you burst out a flow of lave in a circular way, scorching the land. You hear squeeks, and smell roasted stone-reptile.

You hear a loud roar from deep within the island.
The voice in your head cackles loudly, and you feel that hands are rubbed together.
"HEHEHEEEEH"
