I'm definitely considering a penalty of 1-2 essence for secret creations... An extra cost to hide it from the other gods?

It would definitely cut down on the number of secret actions that don't need to be secret, and it would reduce the number of PMs. (Not that PMs are a problem, I've only had one person do secret actions so far.)

Thoughts?

I'm fine with it, but I haven't really done anything secret so far.

I'm not crazy about the idea but neither do I have any particularly strong objections.

It's worth considering that in the long run, this will likely give a significant advantage to more powerful gods who don't care about throwing down some extra essence to do things privately. Weaker gods on the other hand might be a bit more handicapped by it.

Maybe if it's implicated, it should scale with the size / effect of the action? And the more you invest over the base cost of the private action, the more difficult it becomes for others to detect it?

Anyway, I've been busy lately but I should be able to be a bit more active again. I didn't forget about this ;).

Oh yeah, Stirk, have I already told you about Yaos' motives for attacking you and the Void's involvement with the attack? Just in case I haven't, I will now.

First of all, I wasn't lying when I said the main objective was killing STF. If you came back alive, it would be best if you weren't capable of killing me when you did. However, the side objective for killing you did actually exist. What's interesting to note is that said objective existed and stopped existing all-throughout the attack. If I remember correctly I in the end decided to spare your life and extract you from the fighting. Best case scenario meant I got an imprisoned god to do whatever I wanted with and worst case scenario the Council would have less reason to hate me since I didn't kill a god. At the end of it all I just started panicking what with my angel being imprisoned and the HoDo and the Fusil egg and I just started nuking stuff.

As for the Void involvement in the attack, I was actually offered quite a bit of Essence to kill you but I declined and decided that if I -did- end up killing you I could drain your body of Essence for more than what was being offered plus I wouldn't have to involve myself with the Void. That realisation is what led to me deciding to plan to attack STF since I would win regardless of whether you died or not (I either disarm you or get your Essence).

All fanfics are heresy, each and every one, especially the shipping ones. Those are by far the worst.

For those who can't read Thing-speak, here's a simple cipher. The ones marked with (?) I'm not completely sure about. Now it's only your character that has no idea what they're saying.

Well what if someone just decided to correspond some of the not-letters to actual letters and then it all suddenly makes sense? They're gods so they're physically and mentally capable of doing that.

What has everyone done so far? I don't doubt a god could solve a language, but should one choose for your roleplaying purposes, one can decide not to understand.

Thanks.

How long did it take for you to decipher that? I took one look at it and thought, "It can wait until the weekend."

Edit:

Actually now that I'm looking at it, it seems pretty obvious. :P

I just didn't really pay it much attention because I've been busy.

Well, speech and writing don't typically work perfectly interchangeably on a fundamental level; language is basically designed to allow that, in a modern world, rather. For Gods, who have no need of writing?

I dunno, man.

For Gods, who have no need of writing?
That's literally how our gods are communicating, technically.

That was a semi-tongue-in-cheek reference to how we the players communicate by writing.

I figured, though technically technically we're typing, not writing.

Writing a book on a laptop still counts as writing, therefore what we're doing also counts as writing.
